To be fair, if you didn't open any non-engine, the end board is basically an FTK. There's no reason to play the game if they have combo. The only reason to stay is to hope they mess up.

Dinos are doing my duelist cup every single time
Purrelly and R-ACE are both stuck in limbo having not gotten their DUNE support.
And they murdered purrely with these hits for no reason 2 purrely 2 beauty memory and 1 delecious memory killed the deck
And they also killed the deck, I doubt the new XYZ could even make the deck playable

I'm playing Ghostrick Purrely and there is this combo I've found that I can't quite evaluate. Instead of adding multiple rank 1 engines or Snake Eyes + diabell, I play 3 copies of Baby Spider.
The baby spiders main purpose is that it can get you Noir and UDF from a single spell discard by resummoning dullahan a third time. The advantage of it over the other engines is that it doesn't take as much space, it can be used to resummon any dark including purrelyly which helps in the grind game or playing through an imperm and it cuts the purrely bodies needed to get UDF + Noir from 4 to 2.
There is an additional benefit later on of using mother spider splitter. It allows purrely to use Valdrath, which plays through all of the current Ghostrick purrely counters, on top of getting the above combo. Making the deck more consistent in the process since you get combo 50% of the time and 30% of the time you also get an omni and remove 3 bodies from deck.

something cool about the kashtira version is that birth can let you normal summon diabelstar, allowing you to go into the snake eye engine without discarding for diabelstar
Tearlament is a really fun deck for this dc cup if you play it more mid range and include the rescue ace impulse package. It’s nice to be able to go second as long as you don’t draw fire attacker. It’s also funny to draw 2 and discard a tear names to make some interruptions on the opponent’s turn.

I got to DL20 playing mostly PK, Swordsoul, or Marincess. I got really unlucky for awhile on DLv 19 but eventually got there.
I got lv 20 dc with a Swordsoul deck it has a lot of ways to play around stuff but I agree with your ranking because with so many handtraps it can be completely stopped out. You have to play super smart and bait handtraps if you can. Thank you for the list nice to see!
Agreed, I took swordsoul to 20 as well but it took winning many games with the Tactics cards and Nibiru lol
I am playing Vanquish Soul with Superheavy Samurai in it and for me it's incredibly underrated. The lack of consistency of not having razen or earth monsters in your hand in end phase is resolved from superheavy samurai. And even going full combo with SHS and then normal razen is a big plot twist for the opponent
yea i run that version of VS and sometimes they even scoop with a single wakaushi... but the package is great, it has good xyz plays, good synchro plays and sets scales wich are great to extend and atributes can come up. once we get battling boxer dempsey is going to be the best version
Made it to the top with Infernoble. Playing it in DC helped me get better with the deck and play through interaction.
The end board is essentially an FTK, and being able to look at your opponents hand is unfair.
I'm seeing it popping up around Tier 3s in the Master Duel Meta site and it IS my first and most beloved deck so I think I would like to know where you would place Rikka Sunavalon on this list, and if it has any different ways now to play around the generic hand traps and all that.
I tried climbing with synchro branded. I had almost no trouble vs snake-eye, but I had the most miserable time going second into stun and arise-heart.
I havent played much MD since the year started. Idk how much they hit Kashtira. But even on release it was bricky without 3 field spell like the TCG.
Played a going 2nd Kash with Lava Golem, Dyna Fossil and Small Worlds to find them or Maxx C if you dont brick.
Even if think they have Nib and your going first, you can just squat Fenrir & Unicorn/ 1 mat Ariseheart, NS Dyna Fossil (5th summon)
Do you think that the unchained support will do anything in master duel after they essentially skiped over it for snake-eye
Thoughts on Mana tear? as far as my experience on DL cup, i reached dlv max in a few hours. From what Ive gathered, you can side thrust, TTT and one super poly which goes really well into snake eyes and lots of other combo decks.
most of my board usually end up with one cross sheep, baronne and rulkal with a tear trap and usually one shuffler. If I get really lucky you I have chengying baronne rulkal fenrir 2 tear traps with reframing a field spell 2 shufflers and 1 snow.
I think you can make a good synergy there with the right ratios, since amritara can add planet and there should be some combos where you can trigger tear cards
I'm about 20-3 with dinomorphia in DC at the moment, how do you think that matches up?
Made it to D. Lv MAX with SPYRAL but i can admit it felt like i was at a disadvantage
I got there with evil eye. If you uave a deck that does anything you can get to dlv max. People were not the greatest playersin this event so far
Option 3 for snake eyes to beat Maxx c is playing 3 where arf thou and 1 droll. If you get roached, you fire where arf thou and add droll, then droll yourself. Full combo, Maxx c draws them 2, maybe 3 cards.
Joshua, what are your thoughts about branded synchro as a competitive deck in MD format? I’ve been getting constant winning games against snake-eyes (mainly time limit) in DC.
Would be nice if that came with a decklist and what the deck does. Synchro summoning isn't something you typically do in a Branded deck
I started with Branded (no puppet lock) and then switched to Snake Eyes halfway through

I’ve been seeing a hybrid Tear/Lab deck floating around and I’m REALLY intrigued by it. Don’t care if I have to donate but would love to see you take a crack at it or get an opinion
Ive had a decently smooth journey to dLV20 with infernoid snake eye. Don’t know if the deck will hold up tho.

Man I really want your opinion on Trap Trix is my beloved deck but I still didn't try it in the duelist cup is viable or nah because I was playing with sworsoul and labyrinth and doing relatively fine (just wanna complete and get the gems)
I played traptrix and brought it to DLV max so it’s doable. You start being hard matchups from like 17 and up.
1. You lose to dice rolls. Going second does suck if you draw all engine is basically auto loss.
2. If they have some way of stopping your normal summon you’re in trouble also
3. Labrynth is a funny matchup because it’s a race to whoever can get engine first. If you set up rafflesia, banishing lovely with the bottomless or the other trap that destroys and banishes a monster from the grave really hurts the interruptions they can do against you.
4. Your toughest matchups will be: almost anything going second if you don’t draw hand traps. Snake eyes variants, Mathmech.
5. It’s achievable with traptrix but just prepare for some frustration with dice rolls and the occasional brick hands
Joshua I am curious about your take on sky strikers in the current meta, and where it falls on the list. I main sky striker and have hit m1 with it the past two seasons but I want to know from a worlds players perspective on how it should be built for this format and how it performs
The Sky Striker cards work as an engine in other decks, but the deck itself has been powercrept.
Sky Striker go 2end with boards breakers feels really good against snake eye

I hadn't touched Master Duel since week one or two and only got back into it maybe a week and a half ago to keep myself from becoming completely dogshit at the game. I started with Pure Snake-Eye and switched to the more chad and based Runick Snake-Eye when I quickly got sick of throwing handtraps around. I was able to grind up to level 20 fairly easily once I figured out how I should be sequencing and handling Maxx C, and I only ever had trouble climbing out of 16 (never dropped to 15). Is Runick really that bad?
they hit consistency quite lot, and with field spell to 1, if it gets outed, it is hard to recover - especially if it is banished
Runick engine isn't that good rn especially every good runick card is hit

Yeah, kashtira has been pulling a lot of weight this cup, its kind of jarring seeing a normally mid deck before its banlist suddenly doing incredibly well with no new support.
Floo is sick it’s a 30 card main deck pretty much and you can side whatever you need. If you can normal summon 3 times you “go full combo”
having room for 10 spots of non-engine is not unique or powerful in master duel right now. snake-eye has room for around 15 non-engine (3 "c", 3 Ash, 3 Imperm, and 1-3 of Veiler, Droll, and Nib, plus 2 Called By and 1 Crossout are in EVERY list I see.) SHS has room for 15 non-engine (3 "c", 3 Ash, 2 Gamma and the 1 driver, then I usually see some number of Belles, Ogres, Mourners, Nib, Veilers, and Drolls) and that's WITH them only having access to monster hand traps. (I even see a couple lists running Fenrir as a "board breaker" lol.) Vanquish Soul is like 50% hand traps: you put in your 3 Razen, 1-2 of every other name, 3 Stake Your Soul, 1 each of the quick play and trap, and then the requisite RotA and Durendal, and the rest of your deck gets to just be non-engine as long as it's almost entirely Fire/Earth/Dark attribute. Every list plays a Fenrir so you can basically consider that to be engine but otherwise you get to play so many hand traps it's disgusting, you obviously get 3 "c" and 3 Ash, but you also get huge value off of Shifter, Belle, and Crow. You can even run a few Bystials (not too many, format isn't chaos heavy,) since Pizzahut searches the VS boss monster, Druiswurm is just good in almost every situation, and even Baldrake can be pretty good right now. Not to mention you can play Kurikara and Kaijus, possibly with a Small World package, and Wraithsoth.
I've managed to get into lv20 with my Resonator deck. It truly felt like a very good pick, since i could put the exact staples i needed to beat most of the format. But yeah... I have to admit that sometimes, the disavantage was real, specially when they drop you a Maxx C
That card should get banned. But yeah, the rest of the event was very fun and challenging 😄🔥

I'm currently playing with Tearlaments with a bystial package, Charge of the light brigade, Raiden lightsworn and Beatrice. Helped me get to lvl17 on DC. But the difference is, I actually enjoyed doing it. After lvl17 though, I just got bored of playing the same deck every other game (and sometimes playing against Lab 3 and 4 times in a row). I like Lab, I do. But playing against it so often is just not fun.
You should make a tier of pure question marks and it’s chain burn.
The RDA stuff ist realy fun. Imo it belongs in this list too. Opinion in that?
How good is live twin spright? We got elf and no worry about nibiru.

In my opinion Stun, Mathmech and to an extent Mannadium/Infernoble are S tier. The reason is NOT they are the best decks but how fast they can make the opponent scoop. Mathmech particularly is the fastest of the 3 to close a game, and when you see Circular you just look at your hand and evaluate if you can win or not just by that saving a lot of time for both players. (Hot take 1: This interaction is why I believe Josh hates Mathmech/Sanavalon and to me it's a very fair point since I also hate that about them.)
Lab is great against Kash Snakes but can take too long to win. FFV/EEV can help a bit in shortening matches but the deck grinds A LOT.
Snakes are the best deck, but I didn't find myself to scoop immediately on their turn 1 board and it can be quite back and forth just like a high roll Tear (hot take 2, i believe this is the reason Josh doesn't hate Snake Tier 0 in our TCG format).
They will definitely have a higher winrate but at the cost of significant time. And in the initial stage, you may benefit more by playing more games. Timer can be a huge issue since you play a lot during both turns and the matchup becomes a huge grind if it isn't the Synchro variant (a Daruma can buy you an entire turn) vs Lab and Branded.
If I were to tryhard I would go for Mathmech and when high enough pivot to Kash Snakes, but I don't see myself playing Mathmech or Kash so I'll just collect gems with Lab.

You put in the Thunder Subterror monster that can use its effect in hand, which can then turn into Thunder Dragon Collosus! I use super poly. And then the Selene package to go into access code talker. Also just a lot of traps/hand traps

@@thatguyyouhatealot The lists are all pretty much the same. What's difficult with this deck is the decision making. What's more important is to probably watch some high level gameplay and get a better idea of how to play.
I've been playing with Neo Spacian going first I really don't care much about nib since it doesn't special summon that much plus the end board is Sunrise and another HERO pass.

I think the kashtira engine is worst in snake eye because it doesn't add that much to the deck and hard loses to kurikara

On the one hand, vanquish soul is very weak compared to labrynth, branded, and super heavy samurai, and on the other hand, runick bystial is strong, especially for those who know well how to use them. I myself played with runick until I reached level 19.
ABC’s go hard don’t sleep on them!
Especially when you splash cyber dragons to use them as galaxy soldier fuel and therions to extend and put up negates and then sprights on top since you Normal cyberdragon core and that’s a 2.. then you end with infinity, elf, I:P, Buster drake and therion king with an iblee set on your opponents field or you end with a spright negate and smashers for the main combo lines
Also you get to your spright package thru overlaying your IP and platinum gadget so you don’t even need to draw your spright engine. You special ib, use it and gigantic to make elf, give IB to your opponent and then you can use elf to bring back IP. If they shifter you, make bagooska out of your ABC’s or just go into spright plays and set a smashers with sprights on the board it plays combo heavy but can slow down and play the long game aswell

What happened to Sprights in Master Duel did the deck just poof out of existence?
The deck is just not very good at the moment because it has received a lot direct and indirect hits: Jet to 1, Blue to 2, Starter to 2, Nimble Beaver to 1 and Swap Frog to 1. The deck lost a lot of consistency and even some power level due to Frog being limited, so your endboard is actually weakened and your opening hand is a total brick in a lot of duels.
I see way way way more Kash then snake eyes on ladder. It's for sure the deck I dread seeing the most too. It's not that it's the strongest but it's the least fun to play against.

scary but not that good, around tier 3 probably
kash could be a bit higher on this list imo, you can't underestimate how well positioned kash is for all of the top decks, there are multiple ways to play around nib too... notably normal iblee(after special unicorn ofc) special almiraj everything can go in defense you can't crash or link off iblee L. if you get maxx Ced uni special fenrir normal rise heart make arise heart is 2 special summons. Biggest issue is just simply consistency in getting into your starters... But you can legit just run copies of macro instead of something like planet pathfinder cause it's almost better then ariseheart(arise heart is just macro anyways let's be real the banish 1 effect is kind of mid in comparison both together are pretty good tho) try to subversion, kurikara, or imperm macro etc. backrow is not main decked that much making it an absolutely nasty card to play...
I personally think vanquish soul isn't that good because of consistency it's probably worse then kash tbh. both decks can brick pretty hard but kash has a lot of guys you can just summon if need be. Ex special summon ogre and make your opp just keep drawing into ash blossom can win the game. Ceaser, jiaolong, borger just sit there in your hand alongside the S/T cards you're somewhat forced to run continue... dust devil, snow devil are all good cards but you typically want to search them so they hurt to draw especially with so many garnets

actually not that bad in Master Duel since Bo1 and no Time Out benefit it a lot, playable Rogue deck for sure

I think a competent pilot can bring Ninja to this event and do decently. It’s worst matchup out of all of these is Branded. The types of interaction it uses is particularly effective against SnEyes and Kashtira. The ED doesn’t matter much at all, so the unicorn tech you mentioned isn’t a problem. I’d put it around Swordsoul level personally.
