A well set up ambush with the enemy in a valley and your squad 2/3 of the way up the ridge with another squad set up on the opposite side of the valley can absolutely devastate them.
As a pilot, I can confirm the hills help a lot on this map! I can safely drop supplies on the side of a hill even if I know a tow or enemy vic is on the other side :)
right? i enjoyed watching this , it was a full on battle with both sides pushing objectives back and forth , supply runs , air support , arty , mortars... like holy crap
His content is unlike any ive ever seen. It's cool as hell in that he calls battles kind of like a football announcer would call a game. Bringing a whole new dimension to the combat sim gaming genre. Very cool and at times extremely funny
Kohat is a decent map, maybe like a 6 for me. My main problem is that it feels like servers always have Gorodok, Kohat Toi, and Yehorivka back to back to back. Those maps are good, but they are massive. Sometimes this leads to them feeling like a giant walking simulator, especially if your team is losing. I like having a bit of a break between these maps with smaller, more skirmish heavy maps.
Whats crazy is the dude that Moi thought lauched the RPG, Sure that would be a great shot from him, but it wasn't him. It was a dude who had to be halfway across the map. Really a one-in-a-million shot. That was incredible.
There are no bad maps in Squad... There are only challenging layers, and terrain that makes logistics difficult (Kohat, Lashkar), or layers where the first point favors the defenders in terrain (Talil, Lashkar). But, if you have enough coordination, it's definitely possible to overcome tough terrain and difficult logistics. I also only play invasion because RAAS is too slow... AAS is fun too, but it isn't in many server rotations.
Just before he opens the map in the distant middle right of the screen you can see the RPG had already been fired. I was certain it was the mortar at first but there was only an impact sound and not a tube launch sound
36:20 Yeah, I've noticed lately that the lines on the map are alot narrower than where the Arty actually hits. The lines are very misplaced on the map. I've been told that it actually hits outside the lines by about 50 meters.
Love the videos MoiDawg! Always entertaining! Although at some points you move and float the camera angles away or bring up the map too often from ongoing scenes of battles you zoom in on and we end up missing a lot of conclusions to some of the fights when that happens. Commentary is on point! 👍
@@MoiDawg that’s a brilliant idea, it would be great to have a plug-in that would allow you to run a live map separate to the game. Im sure it would be difficult but nothing is impossible.
@@MoiDawg The easiest way I could think to do this would be have a instance of Squad running on your Stream PC at super low settings, (You can make Squad run even lower than normal with a special configuration) and just have it join the server and open the map when you do EITS. Still that is quite a bit of effort.
In the intro I was convinced that mortar was gonna hit the rotor disk of that heuy. Happened to me a few months ago in Project Reality, except I was in a Mi17 over a tightly packed fob on a tiny hill, the explosion killed literally everybody on the fob, and we all had a good laugh.
I love this game so much. Its really interesting watching it from the sky. You also make it even better with your commentary. I hope this series goes on for a while. ❤
9/10, I'd love another similar one. The only thing I'd improve is decrease the fog! Please! Long range engagements can be beautiful if it weren't for the fog :( Also, great game! Very good teamwork and communication from the marines let them get a strong defence against early game russian advantage.
In squad the map is nearly irrelevat. It all comes down to teamplay and squadleads. With good teamplay squad is always a blast. Even if you loose. Love this game always when people talk and co-operate.
Great vid as usual, I don't know if I'm qualified as a random subscriber but I'm proud of you for making vids like these while fighting your sleep issues, keep it up lad!
I hope squad devs take a look at air vehicle destruction, right now it looks so placeholder. Especially the sound fx. I think if they took a page out of insurgency sandstorm heli crashes, it would be so much better.
Love these eyes in the sky videos if I had any suggestion it would be less Mao up, I think we missed a lot of the action including that crazy 1k yards rpg shot on the helicopter because we could not see the action behind tge map. Just a suggestion of course, yours are some of the best videos. Right up there with Squad Ops, and I think they use too much Map as well. Seriously no criticism meant just a suggestion/observation it's all good if you disagree I'm still a huge fan Moidawg 😀
Love these eye in the sky episodes but the stream sniper is a great example of why I quit servers when I see someone with "TTV" in their name. It's ridiculous to think not 1 of 50 people are going to use that stream if it's available to them. I don't get why people need TTV in their name to declare to the whole server that they are sharing the game online, and I don't get why people can't use a super long delay. To me it seems really selfish to ruin the game for 49 people for the sake of 1 guy with 3 twitch followers.
Watching this reminds me of my Zeusing days back in Arma... so interesting watching the players working together to try and beat the enemy, even though technically I was the other half controlling NPC's, testing my player base's limits was always great fun. Imagine if Squad had a Zeus-like feature, would make the game so much better, would be an absolute game changer.
Kohat is a 8/10 -1 for being a walking sim sometimes -1 for not really friendly for beginners. (I manage to keep my Squad together on Urban maps much better.
16:30 I don't think that was an RPG but a friendly mortar? The heli landed with it's rotors over the mortar and the mortar guy was unaware (shoulda heard the heli tho) and he fired lol. Mortar guy was also dead probably from the impact with the rotors. edit: nevermind?
Do you actually stream these eye-in-sky live as well ??? Tow gunner stream sniping himself responding to your commentary @15:05 or just very coincedental ??
10/10 map. Great for vehicles, and gets great contained infantry hotspots, with lots of obscuring terrain to break LoS.

I feel like the people who hate this map are the kinda people who only played team death match in cod for a long time and like golden guns lol
This kind of content I can get behind. Better than anything on TV.
i just love to watch. sometimes i watch, sometimes i listen. i really hope the power grid doesn't go down for two years

100% agree. I feel like vehicles are generally underused. Maby some low ticket cost logistics for moving soldiers and a bit of ammo.
The way that helicopter crashed 😮😮😮
Happy to be part of the vid (MysticShadow)
"Like clubbing a baby seal" got me laughing. Great stuff Moi!
Erik gang?
Love being named after the great ErikTheRed
20:15 squad 7 was watching stream u could hear it through his mic
BRING ON THE BAN HAMMER
The intro perfectly shows how you zoom out or go to a menu when there is important action happening..

The opener was definitely friendly fire from the mortar he was just over. Great vid MoiDawg
@42:30 "It's like clubbing a baby seal" had me dying

I wish I could have the map on a separate monitor to prevent this!

this is more entertaining than watching a movie i can't believe i sat here for like over 47 mins

It’s so interesting to watch it like this. When you are playing often times everything you do is just a big guess.
This is such a dope series, it really helps with reading the map and learning strategies.
I love this game so much. Its really interesting watching it from the sky. You also make it even better with your commentary. I hope this series goes on for a while. ❤
I'm new to Squad. This video is insane.
Blew my mind as to how much is needed to go into gameplay as a whole team.

Kohat is my favorite map by far
"call me fuckin sebastian vettel man" killed me lol
36:26 Nice Bill Burr impression
This guy is the Commentator for War
I hope stream snipers don't start becoming an issue, the whole charm behind this series is seeing genuine high iq/brainlet plays.
squad 4 SL should of got permabanned.
@@FreshBoxLiveHe was calling out targets when he was dead too :I
is no one gonna talk about that j turn from that heli at 13:50
8/10. Valleys. Bridge heads. Hot drops and super fobs....this map allows much versatility for all styles of play!
Anyone else think OperatorRuski was watching the stream while behind that tow??
kohat is one of the best maps in the game when you have a competent team. much better than other large, hilly desert maps like anvil
i like this map but there is NO COVER ANYWHERE. had some good firefights in the prone though. gritty fights for survival
The squad names are top notch
I absolutely love Kohat
That's me at the end on the TOW!
Looked like the downed Helo in the opening scene was blue on blue from the Mortar
If you watch, that RPG came from near the Radio tower, legit a cross map snipe

My last match on Kohat went sideways... Our mountain firebase got focused way too much to be effective xd
Not the biggest viewer of Moi, but he's a dope content creator and curator and these videos are always awesome to watch, even for non squad players.
it does make you feel that you wanna play Squad, but when you head over to the steam page, you realise its 40 bucks, and you can't afford it XD
@@captainbroady buy it on cdkeys for 20$.
I’ve been waiting for this day
These videos are awesome, "'Clubbing a baby seal''😂epic
I love this videos like a sport game tv show XD
I hope squad devs take a look at air vehicle destruction, right now it looks so placeholder. Especially the sound fx.

ok. so moi. A "bush wookie" is not somebody hiding in a bush. It's actually somebody in a ghillie suit. it makes more sense.
What game was this called?

I’m like sponge, I watch my angles but the moment I turn around an enemy runs by
Is there anyway u can do map on the side so can watch the game
Another game of eye in the map, nice

Kohat is a great map. The one map I absolutely never play is Mestia 😅
Was someone using the stream for Intel on the enemy?
This eye in the sky shit is just so damn badass man..
How do you use this cam feature?
Imagine if the helicopter in the intro just flew over the mortar while they fired and just completely fucked the hill?
The stream snipe is real
love this map
8.5/10 for kohat! i love the long range fighting, but that said if ur teams is dumb and rushes too much it quickly turns not so fun
14:42 Wow!
30:21 what happened here?
How accessible is squad for new players who don't know all the lingo?
kohat is a 10/10 on a good day and a 0/10 on a bad one lmao
i think the mortar guy hit the helicopter as is it flew over... lol
10/10, it’s a map I’ll change servers TO to play
al basrah invasion brits vs insurgents is my favorite layer

10/10 good map, has some great layers and games.

As an 11b I wish there was more organization.
Love kohat. Some layers aren't enjoyable but easily one of my top favorite maps
Randomly stumbled across this, whats this game called i need to check it out !

The dude at 25:50 after they destroyed the LAV
Kohat is a solid 7/10
What is the name of this game?
is there autorotation in this game cause that heuy just touched the ground and exploded like an arma helicopter
What game is it
Which server?
You don't do FOXHOLE anymore?
looks more like the mortar hit the rotor
Can I play this game on Pc ???
i was in the heli
One of my favorite mapa
What is this game called?
I love the map, it's one of the few you can be infantry without getting sniped from across the map constantly.
How do you get into good squad games like this
40:00 The marine
10/10 I love this map

LOve the Kohat map. 🤪
