Truly amazing, i never thought a game could be this good on this layer! 10/10 match, all impressive, stupid, funny moments all throughout it!
I love to see armored personnel carriers work with infantry so well. Too many armor players use LAVs and similar vehicles as tanks when they should be hot dropping infantry.
Amen. Theres a God damn reason they can hold so much infantry, yet everyone wants to play World of Tanks with them, forcing the infantry to be slow and vulnerable on foot. Its so fucking frustrating.
@@AndreiHedstrom right? This is also why I think they need to add light attack helis, not because they’d be great for balance but because it’d incentivize people to learn how to fly well.
LAVs are best suited for drive-by situations. A LAT can perfectly set up a kill by engining a BTR, have it called out to the LAV, then they swoop in for the kill and dip back out again. In terms of infantry carrying, just use them for rally movement, not for ferrying from point to point hot drops. LAVs are very quiet so perfect for that kind of work. Using LAVs like tanks, ie keeping distance and not engaging on points until enemy armor is dead, is good. It’s the most survivable way to play instead of wasting ticks for your team and giving up armor advantage.
@@Scriptum.mostly agree, but they have their uses in invasion like rushing first cap or following up on arty especially if u use them across multiple squads
The fight for the randy radio in the field was by far the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while… and your commentary saying nobody should have won was spot on.😂
That was absolutely one of my favorite rounds to medic in and my first time playing that map - loved it. Both teams played hard and there was great communication going the whole time. I'm so glad you caught this one @moidawg - it was fun to relive it and to hear command chat. I hope to see this map in the rotation for TPF. IDEA and THANKS: Getting into Squad was easy because of how committed you are to educating new players as well as because of these videos. I have fallen in love with playing medic and have a great admiration for many of the great medics in TPF. There are different styles and subtleties that allow players to express themselves in the role. I have learned that a medic (or any other role) can be a significant differentiator in a game when you have a skilled player really engaged and supporting the team. I thought it would be interesting to see you do an Eye in the Sky that is more focused on a role - (of course I would love your first one to be about medics) where you and maybe a medic you have played with a lot, point out styles and techniques that work best. For example, a timely dismount for a medic can save a whole squad when their vehicle is attacked or what roles a medic revives first in various situations can change the outcome. Or in my case - how well I do at controlling myself from pushing too far into the fight - i love a game where I not only have epic revives but some serious headcounts too! Given that the TPF has such a great set of regulars you might engage the community to have them nominate players who crush specific roles and ask them specifically to join the session. Like Jamsheed on armor, hammer on medic, Joker the Silent as SL, Toxic Taco building superfobs, etc. As much as it is exciting to see my own name for the first time on one of your eye in the sky's - I really love seeing the plays made by players I have experienced as welcoming and highly skilled members of the community. I love seeing them get a little limelight - it makes me want to play! Thanks for all you and the TPF team do for this community. Peace and Good Things, Driving Socrates
You know what? I love this. I don't watch sports and I don't play Squad, but somehow treating it like a sportscast is awesome to me. I put it on the bigscreen, sit on the couch with a drink and a snack (just as you suggest!), and just let it unfold. If I were to ask for anything, it would be maybe clean up the closed captioning a little, and possibly print what the acronyms mean the first time you use them, but other than that I think you've really hit your stride with this, and would love to see you collaborate on one of these with Karmakut, you'd make an amazing pair! Now let's have some MOAR! 🥤😃🍿
Can't believe how entertaining this was. The ebb and flow of the battle was sooo good to watch. The little moments (like the 2 enemies shovelling next to each other, ahhahhaa WTF!) here and there that you caught really made it special. This map was fokkin amazing, would enjoy seeing a remake with pacific-style foliage so i can relive my Vietnam fantasies. Fantastic! :D
It's just a certified Squad experience. Armor acting as a critical asset and executing coordinated mechanised infantry push and at the same time being an absolute ticket sink and a major contributor to the team's defeat.
I wish the tools to record combat from Novalogic Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising 2004 was around because it was like this on the Orange Bowl servers, 128 palyers most of the time. Big maps, more spec ops type self deployment, firefights galore; in-game taunting was soo cool. Thanks MoiDawg for another good Eye in the Sky!!
This was as good as I had hoped. It's just too bad we (the US) fell flat on our damn faces after that Arty strike. We had 176 tickets and damn near every person felt like we had lost... so unfortunate! Great Casting as always Moi, there were A LOT of good Firefights on the points this game!
While it had so many Monty Python moments, Russians played according to lore, fumble the opening of the war, then defend like hell and then with their cherished ,God of war- Artillery; they counter attack for the win
@47:44 pretty much precisely why I stopped playing Squad on public servers. Can't be too competitive when you have like 30 of those type of dudes on your team lol
ive played this map one and the enemies super fobbed that island and no matter what our team did we couldn't capture it, we tried mortars, command assets , attacking from different angles, all at one lol nothing worked , it was fun but hectic
The initial convoy ambush was so cool although too small for the Russians to really do much damage. Meanwhile that combined arms assault on the super FOB was epic and very well coordinated while the Russian response was lackluster and poor. Its also important the USMC team secured the surround areas prior to a artillery and 40mm barrage then LAVs suppressing whatever is left with dismounts clearing the area. Perfectly executed. The fight over the radio was just hilarious from start to finish. a hot drop right in front a a BTR that did nothing... to two enemies digging the radio together. Too funny. Holy hell that assault on the final point by the USMC was so well done but that Russian comeback! Was excellent. Its sad to see how morale just plummets and it seals the deal. Morale is so important. But seeing how there are these mini-objectives around recovering that LAV was awesome. Its not some game objective but due to circumstances it becomes one organically. Also a AAV defeating a BMP is just wild. The USMC put up a good fight and went out blazing. The Russians really did well right when it mattered.
Great entertaining commentary! Beautiful map layer indeed! I hoped for a little more boat action, but wasn't disappointing anyways! That arty on Boris firebase was amazing.
This was the most amazing Eye In the Sky I've ever seen, and I've seen them all. I guess a combination of map and strategy was awesome on this one, only problem was the Marine Commander rage quit which always takes a toll on the game. Wish I get to play this layer one day. Also, I've played with this same commander, he is trash and always, always mic spams, to the point I had to leave the squad, and eventually quit next game when I became SL, because he always picks SL, goes for Commander, and keeps spamming Local, Squad and sometimes Command Chat, it is simply impossible to play with him. I always mute these kind of players, but he makes it the biggest inconvenience to do so. Tbh, rage quitting is completely likely of somebody that does this.
