Hey Geoff. I’m from Gympie Queensland and been following your journey for a long time. Just wanted to say you’re such an inspiration and a wealth of knowledge. A true Australian legend. Thanks for information. My swales are done by hand and started documenting the process and putting it on UA-cam. My gardening techniques have changed a lot over the years.
Going to do my second PDC at Zaytuna in 2016 is with out a doubt, one of the highlights of my life! Geoff, his family and team are amazing human beings, the property will BLOW your mind, and the people doing the course... AAAARGGGGGG hahaha I wanna go do it again! 😝
Very interesting and educative overview, thank you! Reminded me also when I was in kindergarden and how we build water systems in front of my house during the early spring intense snow melting periods. 🙂There is something captivating in this!
Hi Geoff Thanks ever so much for another fascinating & inspirational video. So fortunate to learn with you! I'm applying your lessons on my property adjacent to a salt marsh. So exciting to witness the wisdom of your permaculture practices & lessons. Always great to see your amazing Zaytuna Farm; what a journey & transformation there - by your hands! Greetings from Virginia Beach, Virginia, on the east coast of the USA. ❤
Very good introduction video to swales, it will be my default ressource I will share from now on for that topic. May God be satisfied with you always, brother Geoff!
Awesome vision. Thank you for introducing us to berms and swales and their potential. Our land, although small, utilises berms and swales to feed our food forests.
For the valley beautification project, might Fuschia work well there? I've got almost 20-year-old mature hardy specimens that I grew from cuttings given to me. They're more like small trees now as I only had a small area to garden in and wanted to include as many planting opportunities as possible through layering, so I deliberately (& consistently) removed any lower new growth on the main stems until now, they've become trunks with peeling bark. I've observed that in summers with high rainfall, that to say they flower prolifically, is a major understatement, and the amount of overall growth is stupendous, so much so, that I've reluctantly had to prune quite hard in places for access in some years. Pollinators absolutely love the flowers, and the deciduous nature of my particular specimens means the soil is gifted with leaf fall every autumn.
Hi, thank you for your inspiring videos. This year in our cool climate food forest we had extremely early blossoming trees and then delayed frosts. The result is sad - a food forest without fruits or nuts. Can permaculture design prevent such failure in crops?
Hi Geoff, what model of pump and solar panel are you using please ? We have quite the same situation here in France, pumoung from a pond to upslope features. Thank you
Hello. Geoff I want to say thank you. Thank you very much becousr l learnt a lot öf .. I am from Turkıye. Sakarya. My garden iş better than every tıme .. If you came to turkey l want to see you. Say to thank. Have a good good tıme..
solar pump set up would look cool as a stone cascade water feature, extend pipe to the up hill side of the pond so you hear the water tumbling cascading off the rocks from the goat path and see it across the pond from the out take side , bee's will love it , so will the birds ,🥸🤓,Canada
The Best group of Painters ? There is not.. Thanks for being the artistic expression we can show in our Food once more. Bringing the WOW back in food. Thanks for allowing me to share...
Mosquitos thrive in standing water but a healthy, oxygenated living system is rough for them because there'll be various predators present, including fish and dragonflies. Probably a few other problematic organisms in here for mosquitos to contend with.
No - mosquito larvae need 5-7 days of standing water to develop into adults. The water in the swales will be absorbed into the ground and drained long before then.
Good day! Just a thought, with the Worlds Climate on the rise, NZ scientists predict 5 to 50mtr rise in sea levels by 2050. I believe your System introduced(not a minute to spare) into the dry, arid regions around the Globe will help to slow down if not reverse the direction our Climate is going! Would be very interesting to get your thoughts!
Hi Geoff. I'm from Karakalpakstan and thanks to you have planted over a hundred of trees and bushes around my house. You inspired me
Building a pleasure garden in that valley is a sign of true nobility

Fantastic video to show that earthworks don't have to be intimidating and that there is lots of room for creativity. More earthworks videos please!
I hope to visit one day
Looking forward to that "Fix a Leaky Dam Course" idea Geoff. Love the tour!
What a beautiful system for harvesting storing and moving water. Inspiring!
Hi Geoff, from class of 2016. Miss hearing you every day - it was a wonderful year. Zaytuna just gets better and better. Much love to you all!
great video Geoff

@DiscoverPermaculture I'd love some more details on the solar pump. Seems a great output for a small solar array. Thanks for your great videos.
So happy you have the goats!
Love these long form walkthroughs!
What a beautiful creation ❤️
It is beautiful. Thank you for sharing 👍
Very interesting and educative. Thanks for sharing Sir.
Great video ❤️
So very cool!
This is what youtube is for, great info!

Mr Lawton, what is a good all around trucker for a homestead? Or is it necessary at all, after the initial setup. Thank you.
Love ur videos tha k u for ur lifes work tons of respect
Living and building the dream! Spetacular.
exceptional video Geoff!!! Salaam.
so cool thank you so much for sharing
Brilliant
Kia ora Geoff, what pump size and voltage are you using for your solar pump? Nga mihi
Im sure you know geoff, but duck manure can help seal it as well! Maybe you should raise a dozen or so and add them to the landscape.
Not to mention those ducks would basically be in heaven with all those ponds of flowing water!

I live in Central Texas and there's a lot of rock here. I have no idea how to build swales. It's nearly impossible to dig through any of it.

Nice, but don’t you greate a problem with moscitos?

Planting Singapore daisy is a big no no. Very invasive weed.
Now the mission is to do this a million times more.
Good day!

Geoff did you know that Zaytuna means Olive in Arabic ? 🫒 Very interesting to see that name in Australia, made me curious
Of course he knows! Haven't you seen his Greening the Desert videos in Jordan?
He is a Muslim, I think his wife is from Arab descent.
So I think he knows :)
