It was awesome not only seeing these F14s, but also flying one! Such a gentle giant. And I need to come to Plane Crazy Build Day next year! Looks awesome.
Can’t wait to save up to get to fly my first ever RC plane. Lifelong dream and you guys made it so I believe it’s a reality. Been building cardboard gliders with son in the meantime. Keep it up. Building memories together.
@@BMMEC6000 I don’t know yet. Been watching reviews from FliteTest, RCSaylors, and RCEssentials lately. But looking like $150-$200 is the target budget for something the will help a first time flyer. Lots left to learn.

Its great to see Johns OG Foamboard master build finally make it to production. Hearing that it flies easy is fantastic, just gotta figure out when to buy and build one myself!
I follow you since the beginning of your endeavor. I can't believe how big and amazing company you have become! I truly admire you for what you all achieve. Congrats!
While I was watching the results of the crash as you guys were examining it I was looking for signs of a balsa structure. Until you said it was a foam board airplane I wasn't sure what I was seeing. That was an incredible airplane made out of foam board. Now I will never have that kind of skill believe me don't say it'll only take practice cuz that's not true. He is an artist plain and simple. Anyways another fantastic video look forward to them every week. Take care guys from Canada.
flew my freewing F-22 through some light freezing drizzle one winter, it iced up and slowly mushed down to the ground, LOL! It had around 1/8" ice on parts of the fuse and wing, most amusing!
If not not mistaken, they did a carrier take off and landing with the wings in over sweep. Not just the 68 degrees when they're going fast, but at 75 degrees for stowing on a carrier
Over half of my Career in the Navy was with F14'S I went from Vf32 Swordsman with F14 A to B to B upgrades. Then to Vf101 Grimreapers with F14 A-D and back to Vf32 and transitioned to super Hornets.
@user-tt4so6iq8d Hi!!!!! I didn't quite get your reply after the message I left on this video. I have been trying to contact you via the Flite Test Instagram but I am not sure if this is actually what you meant. Sorry for that :-( I hope you will still read this Thanks for answering me anyway.
1:30 Just something I noticed, the wings appear to be TOO far forward on the sweep. Maybe adjust the end points to make sure it looks more scale. Once again, just something I noticed, it still is an INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL jet!
Sorry , but the wing angle looks about right , for the high lift , low drag configuration . The F14 was originally a purpose designed , and built shipborne aircraft for use on a 200 ft runway . Sweeping the wing fully forward like this , enabled full use of flaps and slats to achieve high lift , very low speed , so badly needed for carrier operation . I have to admit , it's not one of the prettiest configurations for the 14 , but it was efficient . The Tornado in contrast , was designed from the outset for land based operations . Where long tarmac runways , in excess of 1000 ft abound . To that end the wings never needed to be swept that far forward , as the runways were longer . A straight wing is far more efficient , and stable at slow speed , than a swept wing , however , completely the opposite is true for very high speed . Also flap arrangement is more difficult on a swept/delta wing . The latter often not having such devices they rely on aerodynamic lift to slow down , ie concorde . This would have made the 14 totally unsuitable for ship board operation , and hence , the reason for the variable geometry wing .
@@mickey1299 Right, I do understand the benefits of the variable geometry wing. The thing is, I’ve seen topside/bottom side images of F-14s with the wings in the takeoff position, and it appears at 1:30 that the wing is ever so slightly more “forward” than scale. Remember the “wings out” position is still 20 degrees of sweep. It’s very minimal but it is barely noticeable.
I just want to say this is the second channel I've run across where the guys are Christians and proud of it and advertise it in their videos and I love that! Thanks for being ambassadors for Jesus Christ!
Also a big difference is the F-14 Does not use ailerons the only roll control on the 14 was a set of Spoilers the tail planes were what controlled roll and pitch what the wings did have were flaps and leading edge slats i think that is why you where unable to fly it with one wing out
would love to see the F-14 enlarged, and I know it’s already a pretty big plane to begin with, but I couldn’t imagine if you enlarge this plane like you have many others in the past how slow it could go and how fast it could as well!!
Pretty sure this has been suggested before for the round wing plane. Upsize it and make a small scale Vought XF5U "Flying Flapjack". Biggest difference really would be a two motor configuration instead of a single.
I know you guys mostly build rc airplanes, but... It would really be really awesome if you made a functional Octane rc car from rocket league. It could have a second motor that can be activated via remote control for it to go in super sonic and a hydraulic mechanism for it's ability to jump and for style points, LED lights and a small smoke machine for the boost trail. Please consider my idea, I think it would be a really cool project.
Love this as the f-14 is my fav plane but i would just like to ask if you can do one of these suggestions, either a vtol harrier or a thrust vectored jet like a sukhoi fighter, either of these would be great to see

That is epic! I love the wings of the F-14! What a collision that was as well!
I loved how gracefully it came crashing down. Perfect flat spin. A little ejection seat would have been legendary.
I'm 8 minutes into the video and I'm starting wonder how many crashes can you guys have in one video.
In a more serious note I love your videos
You should see their first season videos!
Aww yea. The Flite Test F-14 Show. This'll be good.
Edit. I hope those F-14 T-shirts are up for grabs.
i think we need some mighty mini EDF's jets for the indoor winter flying
The way the plane fell one wings damaged in a downwards spiral I can hear the NOOOOOO😂

please bring the master series jets back, they look so beautiful
Awesome, my dream is to build model airplanes by myself
That F-14 was so good too bad it crashed after the collision.
F-14 is awesome and I am very happy to see that FliteTest is continuing paramotor and it made an appearance in the video. Great job!!
You guys should make RC tank kits so people have stuff to attack or bomb or even tank to tank battle
the crash is just like in the movie ITS SO COOL XD
when the drone hit the plain I legit said " hay I've seen this one before"
This is the best vid you guys flew. The tomcat is my favorite plane
What an AWESOME video, guys!
There was a lot of joy and brotherhood in this! 😀 God Bless!
Man- that guy has a great attitude
F 14 became an actor. It Started to stall like the maverick one
Love the f-14 but would really love to see you build a Tornado GR4 with the moving wing setup. Keep up the great work. 👍 #FliteTest
I want to see NAA RA-5C Viglante.
Y'all should revisit making a cinderblock fly and show how much easier it would be nowadays
Amazing video, love the accidentally flat spin lol. But id love to see you guys do something with the F-4 in literally anyway

Haha flat spin, its just too perfect 🤣 Awesome video as always you guys!
For research purposes could you guys try to get an RC plane iced over this winter? Would be cool to see icing effects.

Really cool footage, although it cost the plane. 🙌🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

So glad you guys brought the nut ball back, I will for sure be purchasing one 🤪
Did the drone take out the wing? What a flight!

I was thinking the same thing. The forward position is CLOSE, probably only a difference of 5 degrees of sweep.
