@@freedomcat : for sure! I do feel with cats and dogs though there is a lot you can do to make the connection if it’s not there right away. With birds it’s a lot harder.
Animals can establish POWERFUL connections with people. During her last few years of life, my mom used a rolling walker with a fold-down seat to get around her home. I had a cat that loved to ride on it and go wherever she went. Nothing made her smile more than his affection for her.
I'm disabled so I also use a roller walker with a seat on it. Wherever I am, if I'm not using my walker, it's right beside me. My cats jump on it all the time to be near me and get pets. They love to go for rides too. If I put one of them on it, they immediately understand that I'm taking them somewhere with me, just like if I was carrying them in my arms. I also have a wheelchair (for when I go out) and my cats love to sleep on that.
@@dad4ever-c90 there's just something pets have (and we lost a long time ago) that allows them to connect more subtly and strongly to the beginning and end of life. Your mother was lucky. 💓🥺 I hope my last few years I have a pet with me.
Throughout the video, when Grandma and Pita are interacting, you can see in Pitas' eyes how much they are connected. This video is perhaps the most special I have ever seen on this site.
Grandma is so good with birds. That type of bird can peck hard if they don't like the way they are being touched. Grandma is so intuitive to know that the bird would respond to a hug. What a beautiful story!
0:30 - They definitely knew each other in a past life. The way the bird walked up to Grandma; it was like the soul of a best friend reuniting with their long lost friend or something ❤
Yeah, that was not a first meeting, it was a reunion. I think the owner and her husband had a little talk and decided to send her the bird as a way to tell her "I am here with you, I love you as I always did and I'll watch over you". 🥺
@@RoosterBrain You're probably right. It's just warming to imagine things beyond the basics ✨️ keeps the heart alive. But again, you're probably right.
@@RoosterBrain with all due respect, you don't get to decide what anyone believes in. Of course it's a bird that loves a person, that's objective. But some of us believe (subjective) that, in some instances, there is a meaning attached to the situation.
There’s no doubting your grandma reminds the parrot of someone she loves dearly!! Birds can be rough and they don’t pull punches so for that display it really means something!
Awee 🤗 Ok I can't be the only one screaming at the TV to let Pita live with grandma for as long as she's still with us. That's an undeniable bond, and the obvious joy they give to one another is amazing. I'm not say give the bird away, I'm just saying let pita live with grandma for a while (hopefully a few more years) 🐦 ❤
Animals want the people they want. It's an honor to be chosen by an animal. This grandma...kudos to her. She gets around really well for being over 100 years old. My mother will be 77 this year and I'm lucky if I can get her to walk once a day to someplace other than the bathroom.
If it's an animal sanctuary for rescued animals, Why not make Grandma the happiest and gift her Pita? That's what I thought was going to happen - sweet video 😘
A beautiful story. So nice to give grandma such a wonderful, if only part-time, friend. Maybe a weekend together would be great for BOTH of them? We'd ALL love to see it!
Wow! I didn't realize I had gotten all misty until the end. What a beautiful story. Pita and Grandma have made such a deep connection that I wonder if Grandma reminded Pita of her previous owner(?). The sight of her just sitting against Grandma, giving HER love in return, was so magical! I hope they have many more visits in their future. They are truly soul mates. You can't keep the love birds apart forever!?! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ May God bless them both, AND the kind ladies who made this all possible!!!
My father passed away over a year and a half ago and I still haven't been able to fully process it. The way these two interacted was a message from the beyond, like I had with my father a couple of times. I am crying right now. Honestly, thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💓💓😭😭
Awh, they love each other. it's only an hour away. Take your Nonna back every week to make her happy while you still have her. She makes me miss my Nonna and Nonno.
What a Great Bond with Grandma and the Cockatoo. Bird's can definitely Bond with humans. This is So Sweet to see. I hope Grandma does get to keep visiting the Sweet Cockatoo. I had a Cockatiel many years ago. I enjoyed my Cockatiel he was tame just like this Cockatoo. Mine would lay his head on my shoulder and he liked to be petted.
Animals are the best friends anyone could have. Those out there who only see these creatures as a cause for chores, do not deserve them. Every pet deserves a good human though. No human is as loyal as an animal. I want nothing more than a pet of my own, a soul mate, an animal that is happy when it sees me, and cheers me up with silly moments or cuddles, but because I have a very small flat and little money, I can't give a potential pet a worthy home, but it would have my undivided attention and love which is more than can be said for many pets who belong to rich people.
What an extra special relationship Pita now has with your grandmother! I do believe someone from heaven arranged this special relationship. Thank you for sharing!🕊💕👍
Animals instinctively know gentle souls. The natural world surrounding us is such a gift! If only we appreciated it more and were better caretakers. Blessings to all of those who do and are. 💕

Amazing Grace!!!...❤❤❤!!!...I love your story!!!...Whoever took care of her really gave her unconditional ❤️!!!...In the midst of my tears, I pray for that kind of ❤❤❤!!!...PRICELESS!!!
This is so very special. I really wish the bird and the grandmother lived much closer together. It seems they both need each other. How very wonderful that you are able to bring them together as often as you can.
This is such a sweet story. Some birds are very wary of people & usually only sticks to one person like the lady said. Grandma must have such a beautiful soul ❤
