    Question for you! How do normally like to learn new vocabulary? 📚

      For me, learning new vocabulary, both common and academic, in a practical way using enriched resources is much more long-lasting and memorable. For instance, the Englii channel has been doing it perfectly so far. Thank you.

    Just learnt a new idiom " I never wash my dirty Linen in the public" from the world number one celebrity named Priyanka Chopra the wife of our singer and songwriter Nick Jonas which means i don't want to reveal or publish my personal matters, information to public or anyone. How's that sound? Do you have any other idioms to share with me?

    • @BCIELTS
      @BCIELTS  6 місяців тому +2

      That sounds great! "I never wash my dirty linen in public" is a useful idiom. Here are a few more idioms that might be helpful:
      Break the ice: To initiate conversation in a social setting.
      Once in a blue moon: Something that happens very rarely.
      The ball is in your court: It’s your decision or responsibility to do something now.
      Cut to the chase: To get to the point without wasting time.
      Hit the books: To study hard.
      These idioms can add richness to your language use and are great for enhancing your speaking and writing skills for the IELTS.

      You're welcome! 😊 To improve your lexical resource, here are a few tips:
      Read Regularly: Dive into articles, books, and newspapers to expose yourself to new words.
      Keep a Vocabulary Journal: Write down new words you learn and practice using them in sentences.
      Practice Synonyms: Learn different words that convey similar meanings to expand your range.
      Use Word Lists: Use IELTS-specific vocabulary lists to familiarize yourself with common words.
      Speak and Write More: Practice using advanced vocabulary in both speaking and writing.
      Consistency is key! Keep practicing, and you’ll improve your vocabulary in no time. 😊
