Now, can you get your hands on a Roland MC707 and take it's internal synth for a ride? It's the Freakin Fantom in a box! - minus vocoder and a few extra things. Roland made a real gem here because it's basically more like the V-synth engine with actual sampling RAM added plus a few matrix. It has the step lfo and sample stretch along with V-anaolugue, pcm engines with 4 parts/osc's per patch. Thes pcm and samples are stern so you can add separate sounds per L/R per Part! The problem is Roland can't think outside of the Natural sounding synth world with their patch designers sooooo that's where you come in! please please please check it out because it has the potential to go far far far into th JEXUS land of synth noise
I have a 707 and I love and hate it. I’m about to sell it actually because the menu diving is way too intense for me. The sound engine is super powerful though, and does sound great. So do the effects.

If the Minilogue XD had 8 or 16 voices and a bit more modulation (additional LFO and envelopes and stuff) it would be the analog DX7 of the 21st century = one of the best synths ever.
