Richard Bach`s book `Stranger to the ground` recalls his experiences as an F84F pilot in Europe during the cold war. A great read. One of my favorite aircraft.

Peter.. Century Jets begin with the F100. The "tanks/nukes" in the Box art are indeed tanks. The nuclear bomb Mk7 that these carried was about half the length of those things, and a fair bit fatter. I think the reference is talking about the fact that the one spotted had the somewhat different Nuke capable pylons fitted. The kit looks like it has one nuke supplied with the nuke pylon that sweeps forward unlike the ones on the box that sweep rearwards. Pictures seem to show a tank on the stbd, with the nuke on the port. Nice detail on that kit though, regardless of the somewhat heavy panel lines. It looks as good as many 1/48 kits.

Nice review. This kit is an eye catcher. And here comes the twist! As SH cooperates with Eduard to some extent, the decals are printed by Eduard!

@@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-LabEduard did some tuning of their new decals after huge criticism. They increased the thickness of the film to its technology maximum. Yet many modellers in Czech Rep still complain longing for the Cartograph times. Others hate Cartograph... Anyway one uselfull tip: don´t put these decals in the warm water. Use cold water. It took me several kits before I get used to them. I newer peeled them. Too scared. Carrier film is not so much visible in the end.
BTW thank you for your attitude when not everything is "Highly recommended." Cheers from Czech Republic!

Not quite a "Century Series" jet as the first of those was the F100 Super Sabre.
The F-104 definitely wasn't a "donkey". It could be a mule however.

Those lines can be good for a nice primer coat,or mister surfacer,or if someone wants to try applying foil tape to replicate aluminum (aluminum) skin .

Shame about the hatches they do look a bit too deep but l don't think it will put people off because the rest is lovely and the decals very nice l think once made, painted and with decals on you will not see the deep panel lining and it was only in a couple of places👍

@@AubreyStJohn3000They still are not the top notch kits (maybe except Bf-109E family in 1/72). They look nice on sprues, but they have some fitting issues and in many cases have no locating pins (for some out there it is a huge drawback). SH tends to release many versions of the subject, so you can count on having some PE/resin/3D printed extras and many different painting options from the following boxings. And they like to reissue old models with new decals and additions, so you have to carefully study the history of plastic inside. I have built a few of their models so far. Ones were kinda okay-ish (MS.410 for example), but the others were absolute sufferings (IAR-38). Their kits are intended for experienced modellers only
