    I loved that Jazz team! So much fun to watch. All of the bench players contributed and their coach was amazing. I want to see a new Jazz team emerge as winners!

    A fantastic duo Mr. Malone and Mr. Stockton are/were and they have each earned their place among the great players of the NBA. Nice documentary...

    It took the Bulls with Jordan in his prime to keep the Jazz from back-to-back championsips. Stockton is the best pound-for-pound player who ever lived sng paired with Malone played the prettiest game in NBA history.

      +Howard Shapiro Jordan was not in his prime, he never the same after he cameback from baseball

    • @socialminds9894

      +rayleigh8 actually after Jordan got eliminated in 95 he reworked his entire game. He said he was actually a smarter player at that point because he couldn't purely rely on his athletic gifts to agility. He developed his fade away and was overall actually a more effective player due to having shared responsibility on defence when he could focus on stretches and had a more versatile and offensive game thanks to a shortened 3 point line and his improved jumper.

      Jordan was older after baseball. So that means obviously wiser. Two points is two points, regardless of jumping over everyone or fake, stepback, jumper.

      I agree it was just a pretty thing to see, I remember the 98 finals I was 10 and it broke my heart, right after Gonzaga became relevant though so it was bitter sweet.

    Just imagine if Dominique Wilkins wouldn’t of pulled an Eli and forced his way out of Utah after they drafted him in 82, because they drafted Stockton in 84 and Malone in 85, and a team of Stockton, Malone, and Wilkins would of broken the NBA. They would of only been separated in age by a few years, so it could of been a dynasty, but sadly all there careers ended without any championships. That team also had Curry Sr, Adrian Dantley, Darell Griffith, Thurl Bailey, Mark Eaton, although Dantley left a few years later.

    Let's put it this way: Stockton each won 1/2 of a championship (1997, 1998), so they won a championship after all!
    8:10 and damn what a humble guy! I truly believe that God granted John his biggest wish; to live under the spotlight in life despite success :D

      what is half of a championship lol, you mean they won the west 2 years in a row??? Is that what you are trying to say? I like John but no he is not a champion. The only player to win a ring during the Jordan Era was The Dream, who is also the second best player during the 90's... I almost wish Jordan didn't retire hakeem during those rockets back to back title runs would have gave the bulls they're greatest challenge! hakeem was playing the best ball of his career those years and those rockets teams matched up well against the bulls

    I agree.. Reggie Miller almost willed himself to get one through Jordan and Bulls.
    Many great players who didn't have enough help, ran into the wrong team the wrong year, or just ended up going against referees and dirty plays... they couldn't get a ring.

    I didn't mean it in a dissrecpectfull way. I love John Stockton. It's just crazy how good he was but was never able to get at least one ring. After Magic he's second best point guard off all times no matter what. I just wish he had one ring because he really really deserved it. Just like Barkley,Reggie,Malone and few others.

      LOL I was thinking the exact same thing at 1:00 after hearing what sounded identical to the composition used in Lord of the Rings! Now I'm wondering if that particular piece was written before the movie even came out. I checked the comments to see if anyone else noticed because at first I kept hearing that song in my head from what sounded like bits and pieces of it in the other video, and I thought I was going crazy or something...

    This is all fine, but when you think of all the controversy surrounding Stockton & Malone, the trouble they got into on and off the court...........
    Then you recognize what great examples of sportsmanship they were. The NBA did us all a disservice by not highlighting them more than they did.

    I believe Isiah deserved to be on the team, but so did Stockton. Ewing, Drexler, and Mullin all could have been left off for Isiah. Stockton almost beat the Bulls while Malone couldn't be the superstar and Hornacek couldn't guard the taller Bulls guards.
    Thomas had clutch, tough guys who could get his back. A young Rodman, underrated all-star center and villain Laimbeer, the underrated all-star Dumars.

    No. Isaiah wasn't selected because he was the leader of the Detroit Assholes, and was the biggest asshole on that team. No one wanted him on the Dream Team, because he had a completely soiled reputation. They barely took Barkley since he had a pretty bad rep. But compared to Isiah Thomas, Charles Barkley was a little angel.

  • @TexasPsychoK
    @TexasPsychoK 11 років тому +1

    Stockton is one of the top 25 players of all-time. Ewing is not. I could name 6 or 7 centers who were greater. Drexler was great, but he also wasn't as iconic or great at his position as Stockton was. Drexler needed Hakeem(a center who was always better than Ewing)to get some rings. Mullin also wasn't a top 25 player of all-time. The choice for last spots were Drexler and Isiah. Laettner and Shaq. They chose the wrong guys. Ewing is the guy who Shaq killed his rookie season.

  • @TexasPsychoK
    @TexasPsychoK 11 років тому

    Robert Horry and Steve Kerr are two of the best players ever if how many rings you have actually matter. Malone is the guy who choked against the Bulls in important games. Hornacek was exposed on defense, and over the hill against longer, faster guards.
    So really... you don't think he could have played with Barkley and maybe beaten the Bulls on that Suns team? His work ethic would have rubbed off on Barkley and Paxson isn't open.

    Why do people include US gold medals in the Olympics as an accomplishment for NBA MVP'S? Were talking about a stacked team of Professional, multi million dollar paid ball superstars (best of the best) playing a sport that is mostly popular in OUR own country. A country who pays handsomely to recruit players to the NBA from around the world. It's kind of like a dude bragging about getting a gold medal in women's wrestling. HOLLOW VICTORY!

    • @blackeesh463
      @blackeesh463 4 роки тому +3

      Because the Olympics are the biggest event in all of sports and because John was on the greatest team ever assembled.

    • @XoxJasonReynoldsxoX
      @XoxJasonReynoldsxoX 4 роки тому

      @@blackeesh463 So this team filled with ONLY multi million dollar players that were facing teams of what can only be considered amatuer by us standards; that doesn't diminish their victory at all? Your the guy that steals hundreds of $ from the bank in monopoly and then pats himself on the back for "killing it" when winning the game. The dream team may as well have played the Toledo puff'n'stuff's considering how much gold medaling that tournament was an "accomplishment" for the biggest stars of the sport. The games were laughable. Only people that enjoyed those games are the kind of people who would watch a UFC champ beat down a 110lb asthmatic star wars nerd (and then go on about how badass the UFC dude was). I'm a big boy; just admit you enjoyed seeing people wearing the letters USA on their shirts destroying everyone in their path (no matter how hollow and meaningless the victories).

    • @offroad6309
      @offroad6309 3 роки тому

      @@XoxJasonReynoldsxoX you do realize that other countries teams for years where all pro players and the best players their countries could send to the olympics??
      The whole reason the USA sent pros was to match our best against their best. Yes, the outcome was predictable. Their pros were doing to our college players what our pros did to them. Our pros haven't always won gold. There is a reason why the first 2xs they were called the dream team, nothing since could compare.
      Those 2 dream teams were special, the players were there for the right reasons and played accordingly.
