I saw Wilt and Jerry West play an exhibition game in The Salt Palace in 1969. I drove down with my old man while I was visiting Idaho. The place was full, and the only person in the crowd of 10,000 or to applaud Chamberlain was my old man, a standing ovation, he gave him. The point of the story is, Malone and Stockton did more for racial relations in The Inter Mountain West than anyone in history.

I have binged on old NBA/ABA stuff...one thing stands out: the guys respected each other...white/black...didn't matter...Barkley & Magic are so unselfishly heap praises on ability, their eagerness to be fair, respectful are inspirations...I love this series on Stockton, he, like Bird, was not supposed to get that far...their heart transcended.

Irreguardess of what haters want to say, he is by far the greatest pure PG of all time. Period. One of the greatest all around players of all time. There are great PG's, but the way he played, his toughness, his offense, defense, leadership, etc is tops. It's unfortunate he never won a championship.

watching John Stockton taught me how to play basketball i started playing at age 19 and took a lot of criticism and now im very good.... My game is mixed with John Stockton first .. Majic Johnson and Tracy Mcgrady.... Im unstoppable to the average guy i think im hard to defend because i play like stocton... Thanks Stockton I love you man

I didn’t start hoopin until I turned 35, I tried to pattern my game after Keith Van Horn, Chris Mullin, Yao Ming, John Stockton, and Kurt Rambis... The results have made for dominant performances, I challenge you to a game of blindfolded full court HORSE with make-it-take rules *putbacks and psyche-outs are certainly possibly prohibited

Mark Eaton ( 0:45 ) is an interesting story as well. After high school, he went to work as a mechanic for a few years before he was "discovered" by someone who got hiim to enroll at UCLA. But, while playing for UCLA, he barely got any minutes at all. The Jazz took a chance at him, and it paid off. It doesn't hurt that he's 7'4".

  • @wennalyncaingal414

The all time greatest pure point guard, one of the many reason is his durability by playing almost 82 games in his entire career and up until now his record of all time leader in assist is still far to be broken.

In today's NBA his stats would be even better. The sloppy passing, weak defense's John would be a kid in a candy store.
Never forget he got those numbers against some of the greatest teams and players in the history of the NBA. The NBA was full of great players and tough teams during that era.

In game fourth. The great Michael Jordan miss. John Stockton catch, and pass to Karl Malone all in the end. The thing that makes this great is: How the hell did Malone get up there. And how the hell John Stockton see him. Every wannabe point-guard should try to copy it. Remember 2 Bulls-defender is just in front of Malone and try to block the pass

Even before, that extra player would have been a dynasty. What everyone forgets is the Rockets knocking the Jazz out of the playoffs and going on to win their championships. Part of the reason they were so happy, knocking off one of their nemesis.
The Jazz in one of the previous playoffs should have beat the Rockets except they went to a prevent defense, it worked, it prevent the Jazz from winning. Houston went on to win the championship while mj was out.
