  • Mahamudra is taught by the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. In Moonbeams of Mahamudra, the book explains why it is important to meditate on the nature of the mind, and to concentrate the mind in tranquility.

Text of this book was recommended for West audience by XVI Karmapa.
There is translation of this book by Traleg Rinpoche which probably most important because was done by Rinpoche experiencing nature of mind so he knew what he is talking about.
In my view subject of Mahamudra is best presented by Gendyn Rinpoche in book
,, Heart advice from Mahamudra master ,,.
Big thanks for producing this vlog about Moonbeam of Mahamudra. All best and wishes of breakthrough into space of mind.!:)

Tergar Vajrayana Online uses the new text in it's introductory course on Mahamudra, which was translated under the guidance of Thrangu Rinpoche. They refer to Traleg R at the start of the course ( just at the start atm), possibly because his earlier translation was very significant to the current one. The impression I get overall when reading introductions on translations, besides translation preferences and variations is that translations often build upon the work of former translations and improve. As we are still in the early days of a lot of translations, terms and word and cross cultural understanding are still developing with regard to a lot of texts. That's a general understanding, as to how much it applies, who knows? Thrangu was a very significant scholar, I am just learning and Tulku Urgyen's children are very influential teachers, possible within the Tibetan community as well as published authors. They have a strong connection to the Karmapa, Thrangu was his teacher, I think, (still learning this stuff) and Urgyen was considered on of the great Yogi's. My guess is Traleg R and his translations are held in high esteem and this book is build upon his earlier translation. Sounds like a really missed out on studying with him back in the day as I am only now coming around to Mahamudra. Check out the Tergar course learning.tergar.org/course_library/vajrayana-online/mahamudra-course-home. Saddhu Saddhu Saddhu.

@@neemnyima2166 Thank You for deteiled answer. Concerning Urgyen Tulku Rinpoche just recently I gid read his book ,, As it is ,, vol 1. He said several times that state of liberation is very simple in a fact !!!
Recently Mingyur Rinpoche gave public commentary to Tilopa
,, Ganges Mahamudra ,, which is very important
text because Tilopa is pointing out identity of our mind as aware space . Such approach was never considered true in the West !
All best and quick breakthrough into space of mind for good
      of all beings !
