Another great film with a sad story...
@0:37 oh whoa... I haven't seen Pay It Forward since a VHS rental as a kid but thanks for letting me know. I didn't see Until the End of the World's director's cut until a couple of years ago (it only came out in 2019), but it's one of my favorite films now. And the soundtrack is both amazing out of the context of the movie, and used very well in the film.

You probably saw that Siberry wrote this, both women are Canadian, spectacular voices.
I saw Siberry perform many years ago, this song was only a couple years old. She has her solo version on one of her albums, but this version with k.d. is better known.
You MUST see the Wenders movie this and many tracks were used in: “Until the End of the World” like nothing you’ve ever seen ❤

Hey I gotta add: Until the End of the World is actually my all time, lifetime favorite movie, and your jaws will drop at this: you MUST see the director’s cut at … nearly 5 hours 😱
I actually found it once on TCM (!) the shorter edited versions are less coherent.
Siberry is underrated. Unfortunately, she never gained much fame outside of her native Canada.

ok well that's interesting - i was recording in the same studio as Jane Siberry was when she rerecorded this song for the movie 'Pay it Forward'- also Jane's last name is pronounced Si as in Sid and berry as in bury - Siberry - just an FYI - anyway not sure what Jane is up to these days but she had a number of good songs on the Canadian charts way back when - and was quite good live and always interesting/unique - K.D. had a much bigger international following

Not a very morbid and depressing choice, IMO
This sounds like a nice soft ballad sung sweetly by both female singers blending their voices together. Deep lyrics and soft melody. You guys understand the meaning of the song in your comments. You guys gave this song a solid 7.75 rating. I would rate this a 7.25.

Until End World is my lifetime fave movie.
Studio/producers forced Wenders (Paris, Texas; Wings of Desire) to hack it down - can seem disjointed.
It’s hard to find but you must see his directors cut almost 5 hours (I know)😆
Great soundtrack too.
Also must: watch Lang singing Cohen’s Hallelujah live at Calgary Olympics you’ll lose your minds, leaves all others in the dust -Cohen himself said it’s best version ever ✊🏽

The original album version of this beautiful song is notably better than this version. Listen to Ms Siberry's utterly exquisite "Sweet Incarnadine"; it is one of the most beautiful songs you will ever listen to.
