To see anybody dislike this video is truly a shame. I have been a tournament angler for over 20 years and have my own channel on UA-cam. I continuously come back to this channel to learn about swim bait fishing. I live in New Jersey and cashed checks in tournaments on glide baits and swim baits learning from Matt Allen and Tim little on Tactical Bassin. They continuously give you a wealth of knowledge on all aspects of Fishing. In fact it is so informative that it can easily cut half your time on the water having to learn. Be thankful that there are guys out there that are willing to give you the right tools to gain confidence in this sport. Thumbs up as always guys. 👍👍👍
TacticalBassin absolutely my pleasure guys. Just to watch what you guys bring to the table with Fishing is years of knowledge for any angler. I truly do believe there should be a 30 minute to 1 hour show Slots for Tactical Bassin on Saturday or Sunday mornings. 👍👍 my DVR would definitely be set for it!! Nothing but love and respect and good luck and be safe on the water.
AJP Fishing .... AJP Fishing..,....Haters are gonna hate, but you nailed it. I have fished for 40 years and Matt and Tim have opened my mind to things I never would have tried. These guys do it for free and shoot straight. The most Professional guys I have had the privilege to learn from. Magazines and TV shows don't load you up with this kind of knowledge..... Let'em hate, they can just stand there and wiggle their worm.
Dennis Wilhoite 100% agree. Who else do you know that's going to take the time to list every link in every video from Rod, reel, line, and all brands used. These guys lay it out on the table straight up with no BS.
chris - I was pointing at the motor and mouthing to Matt, "MATT! THERES A GHOST BEHIND YOU!" and then I started the Go Pro. It's blowing up right now as "GHOST CAUGHT ON TAPE FISHING!" It just hit 250k subs and The Ghost Hunters want to spend the night on Matts boat.
"You crack'em", I love it. Most solid advice anyone can give. As much we pay for the gear, baits, fuel, launch fees and everything else that comes along with an outing on the water, hook sets are the only thing that doesn't cost $, those are for free.
Robert Ramirez lmao so true. Had to volunteer for 20 hours of work service for a municipal service that owns several reservoirs where I live to get comped for launch and entry fees. Downsized my boat, fish from shore quite a bit in some fisheries and it's still expensive lol.
I dont think folks fully understand what Matt and Tim are providing here. Should have 100k plus subs. The stuff these guys share is simply tournament winning tips. Hats off to you guys for doing this. Most bass guys are all "hush hush" about stuff. Great channel.
I got a solid thump slow crawling my hudd and I set the hook so hard... it ended up being a root or something and I lost my hudd that day... Anyhow, your videos are priceless; what you do is very much appreciated.
This was one of the videos that made me start watching you guys on a daily basis as a wind down for bed 🛌 channel. I can’t believe it’s been 4-5 years , I’d love to see a chart of how many hours I’ve spent watching Tim and Matt spew unlimited amounts of knowledge at me or how much money I’ve spent on those links below 😂
Out of all the youtube fisherman to me you guys are the best. I just keep watching your videos to try to lean how to fish the big swimbaits so i can attempt to catch giants here on Chickamauga lake in Tennessee. keep these videos up and i promise i will keep watching. I would also like to do a guide trip with Matt one day.
I watch all of your videos (normally when I'm supposed to be working) and have learned so much. I appreciate you guys. Just beat my PB but over a pound, hitting 7 on the nose with the Little Creeper.... Thanks again and never stop making videos!
Best informational YT channel available man. High quality, valuable content here and I appreciate it greatly. I hope it is as fulfilling for you guys to create this content (financially and otherwise) as it is for me to consume it. Thanks for all the information you've given so freely. It's the mark of true professionals.
Matt and Tim, I have learned so much from you guys. Hands down the best information for bass fishing across the country! I don't understand how someone could dislike any of your videos
Matt I just want to say that I truly appreciate your knowledge and passion for bass fishing every video has helped me become a better fisherman. Awesome thanks for everything and can't wait to see more!!!!!!
What a joy to watch you explain! It's entertainment and learning! I'm from the Netherlands (Europe) where there's no Bass but i'm filtering out tips and tricks which are very usefull targeting our predator species. Keep cranking out these good video's Matt.
I really appreciate the effort, and the huge amount of information you guys put into this video. I watched it last year, and I just watched it again. Thanks Matt and Tim.
The first 5 minutes of the video I was like da faq.... he is all over the place then minute later, Matt brought the knowledge! Great as always thanks Matt!
Another great video! The amount of information you you guys bring to the table is second to none. I truly hope one day to have the opportunity to fish with you and learn in person.
Great information Matt! You guys give the best tips and info on UA-cam by far. I've been on my fishing social media apps posting your graphic and UA-cam info telling people if they want great tips and info, you guys are where it's at. Keep up the good work guys
Brother I'm not familiar with how this UA-cam thingy works,,but I hope you're getting paid well cause you're the best at teaching and when I first stumbled upon your channel I'm like what can this kid teach me? And after 50 years of bass fishing " I saw the light" 😂 never give up!!!
Thanks for the info. Been having a really hard time hitting anything with a swimbait. Just realized I've been doing it wrong. Appreciate all you guys do!
Man you just dropped some great knowledge! I learned quite a bit of new stuff in that short 30 minute video! Thanks Matt! I love your little youtube seminars!
Matt I bought the 6" Trash fish in natural hitch and rainbow trout. Rigged a natural Hitch weedless, to match the chad . Ran it through some grass in 3 feet of and what an explosion on my first cast. It onle weighed out at 2.5 but it was incredible. Thanks Matt and Allen for the tip
Yessssssssssss!! Was waiting for this video 👌👌..knew it was gunna pop up sooner or later lol..as usual, awesome breakdown Matt..ive put so many good fish in the boat takin notes from you and Tim..hats off to u guys..👍👍
Awesome video man. Tons of info. I've always thrown 6 inch and smaller but now you guys have giving me the big swim bait bug. My tackle warehouse cart is stacking up quick.
@TacticalBassin Your videos have been a very good help. Yesterday I fished a swim bait on a bass spinning set up. My first cast at this point I managed to catch pb bass.
Great video!! (Always a great video with you guys!). Packed full of great advice for us east coast guys. I'm just getting into swimbaiting and I use you guys as my primary resource for legitimate info. Please keep up the great work and thanks for everything you guys do!
Love these videos and enjoy and use the information. I hope i catch my pb this time of year, who else noticed the trolling motor started moving around? Lol
Matt and Tim you guys are awesome. I'm from the midwest and you mentioned swimbaits in the midwest. I only have one thing to say.....Huddleston Huddleston Huddleston!!!!!
Awesome info yet again. Great explanation about the tail types. Recently got a line through pike with a vortex tail now I know when it will work best for me thanks Matt and Tim.
Well said brother I've seen you consistently catch tanks so you know what your talking about. That's why I say if you had your best friend as a co angler you guys know your stuff you guys INDEED would slay them I have the upmost respect an confidence in you guys legit. 💯 😃😃😃😃😃👍👍👍👍👍👍
The bone spro kgb , gill square bill whipper snapper from toxic and the 3 piece pb mouse have been my most productive hard baits the last few times I got out
Thank you for all the info you and Tim offer. I’m over here in Florida near lake O. Would love to see you guys take a trip over here! Thanks for all the advice! 👍
Andrew Yang Fishing - In San Jose, the richest city in the entire US can't afford to stock, while all surrounding county's receive stockings. Hmmm? I wonder if corruption has anything to do with it?
I like to hit them fast as soon as I get bit. I don’t wait either. When it’s 37 degrees I will use a slow gear ratio and hammer them. It can be non stop cold water, swim baiting. I swear on a cold water swim bait bite!!
Not sure why it isn't in your list anymore, but I enjoyed your swimbait beginner video you published awhile back and started off with Reaction Innovations Skinny Dippers. I'd now say they're a confidence bait for me, and just a high-quality product overall.
Big Swimbaits bites: 'Crack em' because the rejection process is measured in Deciseconds, tenths of a second. Plastic swimbaits do not taste like fish it's the nature of the material. A wise old bass is not going to keep chompin on a piece of frickn plastic. Here is what's happening down below the waterline. Your big swimbait is slowly creeping the bottom mimicking the tail action and water displacement of an 8 to 12 inch trout. Without the benefit of sight a bass will utilize its lateral lines to feel the displacement and vibration of your bait moving water. This draws the beast to your bait where vision will become the primary sense used by the bass to process your bait prior to ingestion if ingestion occurs at all. If the lateral and visual processing cut the cheese you'll be lucky to move on to the taste test! Ingestion, inhalation and the phayngeal taste bud pads! This is where Tactical Bassin and a handful of other Trophy Hunters 'Crack em' in that split-second inhalation/rejection/ejection process!! If you are not one of the small percentage of swimbait guys that can detect a subtle swimbait bite in the split-second before your phony food is ejected. I highly recommend using a food stimulant, a bait scent. Matt Allen is not pro scent but we're not Matt Allen and he doesn't need it. Yes it stinks it gets all over your hands it transfers from your hands to your rod and reel and sometimes to your lunch.. lmao. But if you are fairly new to big swimbaiting or having trouble detecting a subtle bite, take advantage of it. It's the difference between tenths of a second and two seconds if your lucky. In time you will be able to swimbait fish without it. Don't mind the occasional catfish it's a good sign!!
Realistic Fishing for getting bites in general it depends on the presentation technique. Largemouth bass have a poor sense of smell due to a limited number of olfactory folds in their nasal passages. Adding scent to faster reactionary persuit type moving baits (hard baits with treble hooks, soft baits with blades, darting baits) is useless. A largemouth bass is relying on site and motion detection went in pursuit mode. Slow-moving presentations (wacky worm, drop shot, sloooow moving swimbaits and jigs) are where scents play a beneficial role. This presentation affords the largemouth bass the opportunity to smell and taste the bait. Once the bass inhales the bait it's put to the taste test via the taste buds on the fish's tongue and in it's mouth. Adding a food stimulant such as scent can fractionally prolong the food acceptance -rejection process but they won't get you bites if your colors and presentations don't stimulate the fish first...
One other thing I'd like to point out. Smaller juvenile Bass are stupid!! Well, let's give them the benefit of the doubt, they're a lot less experienced. It's the bigger smarter and more experienced bass we're trying to fool here. :-)
The ORIGINAL swimbait was the Mister Twister SASSY SHAD. On 8-10lb line and a ⅛-¼oz ball head, I have caught thousands of bass on that lure. 1st time I ever boated 100 from public water was on a chartreuse/silver glitter Sassy Shad, on Lake Mitchell, the day after Thanksgiving, circa 1985
Anyway y'all could do a braid to floro/mono leader video? The knot used, how may feet of leader you use, and lb braid to lb floro/mono? Also, when to use floro leader vs mono leader. Thanks guys, and as always your videos are the best.
My 3 go to baits lately been the tournament series bullhead from mattlures, the boom boom from optimum and a citizen 7. Been doubling the bait size of what their eating and I feel like that's why I'm getting the bigger fish. Nobody really fishes swimbaits bigger then 3" on the local river and the chain of ponds off it I fish
Matt, I don’t know how I missed this video until today but I did. JMHO but it might well be your best video ever. Or at least my favorite. So much great information. I laughed out loud when you described me, the client who says “I didn’t know you meant THAT slow!” Gonna have to rewatch this one many times but it’s time now to get on the lake and throw Huds deep and slow. Can’t tell you and Tim how much I appreciate your work and your advice. Much respect!

Well Matt Alan, you've talked me into getting back into swimbait fishing. Just order a Huddleston delux 8inch rof 5 in yellow perch.
Can't wait for the trout stocks down here in SoCal!

Scott Robinson damn good bait have about 6 different colors in my tackle box now used to test their baits when he first started out

So much great information. Thanks Matt!
Thank you Randy!!
Thanks for the lesson, someday i"ll finally catch a Bass
Hang in there!
My lakes are the kind with bluegill and panfish not really any minnows but great video.
