Just viewed Part II interview with my cousin Wallace and you. Sure enjoyed that. His father's sister was my mother, Marie. When Wallace told you that he "knew" where Carvin's Cove is, he did not tell you that his father and my mother actually grew up in the Cove and John Henry Gusler's farmplace. That farmplace, along with many others, is now under about forty feet of fresh water that supplies the city of Roanoke with drinking water. Wallace and I used to run up and down a mountain near his homplace in Salem, and, we also "dueled" in his front yard with pistols that he had made in his little workshop adjacent to his dad's property. His father was Lester Gusler, a lumberman, and Wallace and I played quite a lot when I would be visiting from Florida in the huge sawdust mounds that were adjoining Uncle Lester's sawmill. What great memories were dredged up as your video was viewed this a.m. Thanks for the memories!!! Norm Tullis, Brighton, Tn.
