- After years of waiting and months of construction Hyperia - the UK's tallest roller coaster has just completed its very first test run around the track! This is a huge moment for the UK theme park industry and is another huge milestone in this project. Hyperia will open at Thorpe Park on the 24th May and will regularly be testing between now and that date!

Absolutely incredible looking coaster. That outward-banked stall turn is just ridiculous. I can't wait to ride this beautiful creation! Really, well done to everyone involved in creating this ride.
That Stall has serious hangtime 😮
It won't be quite as exaggerated as that once the trains have bedded in, but yeah theres a lot of hangtime and airtime on this ride 😅
Also the drop was taken slower I think as it was only edging the edge at the top of the lift hill so there will be a tad more speed, and this is noticeable bia how slow the outer bank dive thing is slower than it will be
@@BJumpscare I think they'll get into running the lift hill at normal speed fairly quickly, I'm guessing they wanted to make sure the sensors were picking the train up correctly as it went up the lift hill

Just me inaudibly screaming over here. Thank you thank you thank you for putting this up as raw footage to just get it up asap! Been waiting so long to see this. I’m also like terrified because it looks like it barely makes it round some elements and while it’s probably much faster up close it makes me scared for potential rollbacks 😂

Yesss we were on storm surge when we saw the train going up really slow, the attendants quickly got the lift hill rolling so we could get to the top and see!! Everyone was so hype 😵 I can't believe we got to see that irl

@@jimmyk9523yeah that’s what I was thinking. I knew the stall would give hang time galore but it took that second element a lot slower than I was expecting
@@carparked I'm hoping it's because it's the first run and they go as slow as possible? yeah looked very slow compared to what I had envisioned 💯
@@carparked It will speed up slightly but it won't be that much. I think the second element is too high to be honest. All that speed it gets from the first drop is just gone

Was that a minimum speed test? It looked a bit slow on some parts. Glad it's finally testing though. Can't wait to ride it!
That's what I thaught too, it did look a bit slow.
Minimum speed ? You realize that this is NOT a launch coaster ... after the lifthill simply gravity rules ...
the only other possibility for that low speed would be a midcourse brake
thats just because it hasnt warmed up yet. Im sure it will go way faster when it has opened.
The wheel bearings will be overly tight this os to allow them to break in easily but it wont go much faster it will be near enough the same on launch day
Two factors. Speed it goes over the top of the lift hill will increase significantly which will alter the speed at the bottom of the drop by a couple of mph, however that is significant and as the bearings bed in and the ride warms up the friction will reduce so it will slow less through the course
