Thank goodness! Someone who actually has under eye darkness who is demonstrating under eye concealer methods! I have severe dark circles so I’m always looking for ideas. Just discovered you. New subscriber.
As a 60 year young woman with very dry skin I can’t imagine using that technique. For me it would be an awful mess. I tend to stay away from most powders. I did enjoy this video and your Lovely descriptions.❤️❤️❤️
A hack I like is using a swipe of aquaphor lip repair under each eye before concealer…and I always use a damp sponge. It makes it all look more natural 😍
Thank you for the podcast. As a 67 year old I like to use a unscented lip balm stick directly under my eyes then use a concealer, pat it in after a minute then use a light peach powder that's tapped off on a small brush. I find it doesn't settle into fine lines that way.
Oh, Dez...I don't know. I love Wayne, but, I won't be trying this anytime soon. The second go at it was better; however, I don't care for that combination..too much powder. TFS! Rosemarie ❤️
I've seen this hack before, and several of the makeup artists I've seen do it. Personally, I prefer spraying my dampened makeup sponge with a bit of setting spray and then into my concealer and then applying to the under eye. I'm not a particular fan of Wayne Goss, I think it's misleading because men's skin is different than women's skin, so the way something's going to react to our skin would be different. And I don't think he takes that into consideration. And this particular hack using the powder, I think, would make your skin even dryer even if you have an eye cream on it.❤
I'm 55 and my under eyes are one of my biggest issues. I appreciate you doing a demo on this hack and I dont think it would be one that work for me either. I do love your color choices for your makeup and it all looks so good on you!
You look beautiful. I feel the powder concealer mix may be too fussy to apply. Your finished make-up, indoors and out, were fabulous. I saw no imperfections. Thank you for a lovely video ❤
Thanks for taking one for the team! I dont think I will be trying it, too much powder for me. I liked watching your "painting" technique, looked a bit scary there for a bit but it all turned out lovely. Love watching your videos on makeup, maybe could you do 2 a week?
Thanks so much - yes it sort of felt like that! Actually am trying to do 2 videos a week now - most are makeup related but I throw in a fashion one about every month especially if I have something particular I want to share ❤
Watching while getting ready for church and i had to try it. But i didnt want to get powder on my concealer wand, so i put concealer on my palette and then dropped a but of powder into it and mixed it. Then applied it with my finger. I was ablento avoid the inner eye powder pileup this way. And it actually didn't do badly. It thickens the concealer so I think it gives better coverage. Since you didn't dip back into the powder, your second eye had less powder in the ratio, so that may be why it did better. Thanksnfor taking one for the team and trying this out!
Oh, and I think you can achieve a similar result by simply applying the concealer, spreading it out a bit with your finger, and then waiting for it to start to dry down a bit before blending.
Love your nail color. Best concealer hack I've tried. Use foundation very sparingly under the eye then apply concealer to just the tear trough and apply Matt powder just a tad.
Wayne Goss mention in a video I was watching that he had upper and lower blepharoplasty. It pretty much got rid of his darkness and the bag. Thanks for doing the demo.
Hi Dez! I love Wayne Goss and hadn’t seen this video. Thanks for trying it out for us. I’m thinking I might just play around and try it just because I’m curious, but thinking I’ll probably get pretty similar results as you did. I do love the rest of your look. So pretty!😍
Thanks Tina! I don't usually watch all his videos but I was intrigued by this one and thought it would be fun to try it out. Not sure it was a raving success 😉❤️
I think the way makeup works on a man's skin is different to how it applies to a women's skin. My left eye inner corner is more wrinkly than the right and my right under eye is darker and more baggy than the left 🙄. Currently I'm using the Elf peach colour corrector on my dark bits and the Elf camo concealer on top and a Revlon setting powder. It's working pretty well - it'll never be perfect.
Agree! Also, he's 20 odd years younger than me. My left eye is more wrinkly overall but the under eye is somehow smoother. I must start using my Bobbi Brown corrector- also, love the ELF Camo - it's been a staple. Yes perfection I tricky as we age 🙂❤️
Thank you! Do you mean the darker shade of eyeshadow? Yes it is quite plummy - sorry I should have named the shade -it's called pink burgundy in the palette.
You look wonderful. I'm 72 and look ok but no work done and thinking vaguely about some botox but it's more the lower half of the face sagging and botox won't fix that! I do have some bags under my eyes but no I don't think I'll go all that bother. Just need to apply it properly. I'll keep practising. Thank you for your videos. Love from Australia xo
I live in southern Georgia USA and I fake a British accent everywhere I go and people believe that I'm English. And I love it ! 😊❤ I love the British accent❤
Oh well done! wish i could fake it. I'm Australian. Hate our accent! My neice has gone to live in the UK so can't wait till she comes back at Christmas and see if she's got British accent! I wonder if there's a youtube tutorial to teach the British accent. lol.
Great video Dez, Sorry not going to try that hack!! Too faffy for me and I have enough trouble getting concealer not to cake as it is!! I also don't have the patience!! I'm more of a 10 mins or less kinda gal!🤗
Blimey Dez! What a lot of faff! There’s not a chance that I’d make all that effort unless I was guaranteed to look as though I had baby like peachy under eyes…. I do really like the eyes and lips though! Thanks
I use Biossance u see eye cream let it sit maybe ten minutes while u do all other makeup. Then do the V shape Wayne gods concealer technique for older people. I let it sit.use dry sponge to tap out creases. NO powder I bring a sponge w a bit of concealer on it in a baggie during the day. Always looks great and not dry no extra lines etc
Hello! I watched when you applied that highlighter and I was little disturbed by the slightly bigger "lump" of that highlighter left under the right eye. I was hoping you would have noticed and fixed it. At the end of the video, you show how the concealer stayed under the eyes. Left side looked fine, but when you showed the right side, you said that the concealer had clumped in exactly the same place where I would have liked you to have noticed to smooth it out at the very beginning... After all your make-up looked very nice😊
Hello, Dez- Thanks for trying this out on behalf of women with mature skin. As others have said, I won't be doing this, having watched your careful application - too much powder for me. (Any powder under my eyes looks terrible, actually.) Wayne Goss comes up with interesting but sometimes time-consuming hacks that don't work on really mature skin, despite his assurances to the contrary! Thanks again and have a great week - Ruth
P.S. So, I do love the way your finished makeup looks! The shades are just beautiful on you. Thank you for sharing with us; I so enjoy your GRWM 's! 🤗 Hugs. Rosemarie ❤️
Hi Dez, that was interesting !! I watched that video, I always watch Wayne Goss, Love him. Not sure it’s the best look I’ve seen on you, but well done for trying it out. Thanks so much Marjorie! Completely agree, too much of a faff - I have enough trouble with regular application -but I thought it would be fun to try! Have a great rest of your Sunday ❤️
Thanks so much Jennie! Re nail polish, I get it done at local salon so not sure - they use dipping powder - I don't know the brand I'm afraid. Have a great Sunday - and give my love to Cumbria if that's where you are - used to spend a lot of time there, near Kirkby Lonsdale ❤️
