Acoustic Series Week Eight
The Airborne Toxic Event is an American rock band from the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz that consists of singer and guitarist Mikel Jollett, guitarist and keyboardist Steven Chen, bassist Noah Harmon, drummer Daren Taylor, and violist Anna Bulbrook.
This is part four of a ten-part acoustic series in which each of the ten songs on the upcoming first record is performed acoustically in a different location. All of the videos are done in a single take.

The fact that he's driving the boat while playing the drums makes me happy

i love bands like this that have the raw talent that they can get on stage and play something this amazing accoustic without any electronic enhancers. and i hate the people with absolutely no talent that get on stage and have to lip sing
I love this video! The different tones, the colors, the opposition of emotion and lack of emotion. Very artistic. Each member of the band adds something to the whole. It all really works for me.
Who cares about the drum brush... it is his pretend boat driving that is funny as hell. AWESOME BAND and AWESOME SONGS.
In this and the CD version when he sings Oh god not another fight. It hits me so hard, I hate that feeling, its hard to describe unless you know how it feels :/

I absolutely love this band... their album is definitely my favorite of the year. What really amazes me is seeing them live his singing hold quality live just as well as it does on the album... VERY TALENTED BAND

naw. it is a different tool other than a normal drum stick though. It's kind of a handle with thick metal wires streaming out of it. kind of like a whisk but instead of the wires looping, they're frayed. gives the drum tap a different sound. i'm not a drummer but someone who is might know what it might be called.

ok, i love TATE, but this is my first time seeing this video and... this is easily the single most awesome group of people EVER! this and their video for "Half of Something Else" are just perfectly wonderful with the unique choice of setting.
More likely they were both inspired by something similar. People pass around the word "rip off" too freely these days.
@breathnac92 Act it until you are it! And, btw, they are cool if you define cool as super talented; individually and corporately. So...embrace it and find the joy! Seems they have done just that.
ok, if I had like a ton of money, I would totally have my b-day party on a pier and have these guys go around it singing their songs. I'd have great music and a pirate... what more would you want?

Personally, I don't like how the song goes to the V chord at 1:06 (and 1:33, and 2:08, and 2:36), it just doesn't sound RIGHT to my ear... had I written it, the previous chord would lead somewhere else. However, again, this is just personal nit-picking.
Good vocal harmonies and nice arrangement.
I would imagine they had a great time recording this video.

i dont htink they have it available but i recommend searching youtube converter on google. and you can download this song. but it only works with a pc.

not that hard... i can do plenty of things and keep a beat, i usually do things with some sort of rhythm.

yeah, a mandolin is tuned the same as a violin, so its nothing different (other than strumming ofc)
