Acoustic Series Week Four
The Airborne Toxic Event is an American rock band from the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz that consists of singer and guitarist Mikel Jollett, guitarist and keyboardist Steven Chen, bassist Noah Harmon, drummer Daren Taylor, and violist Anna Bulbrook.
This is part four of a ten-part acoustic series in which each of the ten songs on the upcoming first record is performed acoustically in a different location. All of the videos are done in a single take.

honestly i love this band so it makes me sad to say this in a way, but other than sometime around midnight i really like all the songs acoustic better, maybe thats just cuz im a sucker for acoustic but damn they just sound so good
Arcade Fire and Airborne Toxic Event should get together and play a roof and magazine ripping show.

This song has "hit single" written all over it. The video was pretty clever too. When I saw it the first time it looked familiar, then WOW! at the end, that's Sunset where it crosses over Silverlake. So I watched a few more times looking for other landmarks, and spotted the Casbah Cafe near the beginning. The route followed is Sunset from Sanborn to Silverlake.
I'm 67, reliving the 80s, great band!! Thanks to my son, met them 3 times (so far)!!
this vid proves when you strip away the stuff that makes this band sound like everyone else, their core is seriously original and i for one am impressed.. check out my stuff too..
You're band are so great because you're all really good musicians, not just an image but actually talented. I love the way you've used the car roof as a drum!

I honestly don't think i can say how much i love this band and what a breath of fresh air they are from the generic pop bands which seem to fill the UK charts these days.
Song writing with honesty and passion tinted with humour and sadness. They truly are brillant and like most of us on here i think they're acoustic versions are better than their album tracks because they can show more of their raw passion for playing.
Definitely going to see them while they are in the UK.

good band from what I've heard so far, but this is a blatant rip off of Arcade Fire performing Neon Bible in an elevator.
I went to see tham last night at the 100 club on Oxford Street. Bloody amazing gig getting smashed on Stella and sambuca....... naughty seeing as a school night and im writting this from my comp at work dreaming about getting home and sleeping off this aweful hangover!
i bet anyone in this world 1,000,000 dollars that when ever they travel they jsut say "hey dude lets shoot a friggin music video" boom.... music video in a boat, grass, tunnel..... and even a car. I think its the best types of music videos.
I know he's not a very good singer (and I don't mean he's bad, i love his voice, and his voice is amazing for the stuff her writes), but I'd rather have his voice compared to having a voice like Steve Perry or someone like that.

This is why this band is awesome.
Sometime Around Midnight and Gasoline are the only ones that have acoustic versions that are commercially released. If you really wanted to you could convert it.

I'm sure this has been discussed, but is this band named after the Don Delillo novel "White Noise"? I loved that book - great cultural reference.

I like this version a bit better, but my previous opinion about the melody and harmony of the tune still applies. The creative ideas for setting and percussion are nice, though.

@xgiannax she plays viola most of the time, there just isnt viola in this song. sometimes she plays piano and mandolin and sings back up.
