Absolutely right, but usually you can come out in a defense that is already shaded the way you want and just change the shading on one db. For example, come out in over storm brave which is shaded inside and shade outside the one db on the slot where a corner route could come.
Once people learn how to play football instead of madden you won’t have worry to about shading. I got a question for y’all. Here goes. Without any manual adjustments what defensive coverage stops Bunch? Remember it must be a stock coverage? I know the answer already and it’s nothing to do with the meta or any coverage shown in this vid.
Hey! :) I just wanted to say thank you… i checked out your D-book on ace, I “studied” it and wow…. I learned a ton… oh and they can’t run meta sh*** anymore 😅 ! I’m just an absolute casual ( play a bit of regs madden after work guy) … my Offense is ok, but Defense sucked big. Now after your lesson, and doing training camp reps every day… I’m more excited to start the game on D than on O 😅 it really works. thank you dude! Do you think this is a Defense that can be carried over to next titles or is it heavily dependent on coding and patches? Anyway greets from Germany! Cheers 🎉
This means a lot man. I'm really happy you liked it. I'd say everything changes year to year and patch to patch, so it's hard to run a single defense every year. It's a great starting point though.
I wouldn't say screwed. It's better to adjust your defense based on what you think is coming from your opponent rather than let the game choose for you.
I know I’m late. But I watched 3 of your most recent videos. You don’t understand how much you just helped me lol. I’m in the playoffs in my Cfm. And I’m use these tips and hopefully win the bowl in there. Thanks for are you help
In the video I explain conceptually which each defense stock shading is. Cover 0 -> Inside Cover 1 -> Outside Cover 2 Man -> Inside and Underneath This is what it’s like for every formation.
@@TooOld4Madden cover 3 is single high safety so it would be outside, cover 4 is double high safety so it would be inside. BUT, I don’t think zones shade by default but the principle is playing to your help over the top with the safeties
Fantastic video, basically just found your channel, watched some of your videos and oh lord, I love the way you explain concepts as well as the tips, great job!
This is a good tip although I knew how to do this I never think to shade individually I usually just use individual adjustments to press or back off. So I thank you 🙏
Underneath they jump a lot of short routes and try to press, over the top they’ll back pedal and run with the receivers to not give up deep routes. Cover 2 by default is inside and underneath since you have 2 safeties over the top for help, cover 1 is outside and over the top since the deep safety in the middle is your help. If you’re blitzing without help from the safeties then it’s overtop coverage since the last thing you want to do is give up a deep ball
@@kamtheclam In the video he mentions inside shade is for things like posts, and in breaking digs. Would slants and drags fall into the underneath shading category? Zigs too? I guess I'm looking for a breakdown to know when to use what shading technique based on my opponents route tree selection. Lastly, can shading be stacked? (Eg. Underneath and outside). If so, how does this work?
Slants would be underneath and inside, zigs would be underneath and outside Yes shading can be stacked and adjusted individually. So you can do over the top or underneath, and based on what routes you think your opponent will run can adjust it for each recover if they’ll shade inside or outside
This is hands down the best channel for madden tips. I’m definitely subscribing! Great work 💯
My guyyyy
God bless you 😂🙏🏾
Yoooo great way to break this down family !! I’m bout to check all your content out !!! And will be watching in the future 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
The problem with individual shading is that you won’t have time to make all of those adjustments most of the time unless you’re playing a 🤖

False been doing this 2 yrs. All muscle memory and takes practice

@@404EyedAce No stock coverage will STOP bunch, per se. If you were to only run one, I'd say man coverage.
Can you shade in zone coverage?
Yes!

This is great when you know the play the team is calling but you make one mistake and you're screwed.

Rooting for you bro
I needed this cause I like to run man and I have every route ko on my team
Best madden content. ❤
Great vid!! And question about the spotlight feature how to use it and when to use it? I’ve never used it before
I don’t think the spotlight does anything.
Oh okay.
Sportzgamerz just took this video like it’s his smh
that's just how it goes lol
This by far the best advice Great Job thanks for the help
Do you have a list of most meta defemces/formations and their stock shading?
In the video I explain conceptually which each defense stock shading is.
Cover 0 -> Inside
Cover 1 -> Outside
Cover 2 Man -> Inside and Underneath
This is what it’s like for every formation.
@@Swolosimo Thanks man. Very insightful.

What about inside and outside shade abilities in MUT? One step ahead, do they automatically do it?
they do not. They would still benefit from proper shading.
@@Swolosimo thank you for the response!

Triangle/Y and then with the right stick.

What effect does the universal play underneath, and play over top adjustments have on how your defenders behave?
Underneath they jump a lot of short routes and try to press, over the top they’ll back pedal and run with the receivers to not give up deep routes. Cover 2 by default is inside and underneath since you have 2 safeties over the top for help, cover 1 is outside and over the top since the deep safety in the middle is your help.
