Byun writes things like "thanks dono" during his stream, but I just love "Protoss"
I love ByuN. Outside of Life and MarineKing hes my favorite. There was a game against Serral recently I think WinterSC cast and ByuN was literally all gas no brakes for almost 20 minutes. It was insane. When his wrists arent acting up he can show us why he got reapers nerfed 3 times.

15:25 He loaded the SCVs from one side and unload in the other. That's faster, but he loaded 2 more SCV that was already mining.
Love watching byun. Whenever the game tends to slow down he goes for risky moves like doom drops.

2:20 I had a zvt where I made a bunker in their natural and the scv rng was constantly in the mineral pocket and won the game outright …. Worked to 5.6 k mmr then lost a ton again

I hope newer RTSes like Stormgate, Zero Space, copy Dota 2 and show the player's cursor in replays.
SC2 indirectly does though. Youve got the colored path for a-move and patrol and things like that.
@@2639thebossno he means like it legit shows you the players cursor the entire game where they keep it and you can see how they edge pan or middle mouse button dragon. Exactly how they box workers or do their splits.

Not as close as fastest terran in the Brood War era. Iloveoov's pov was absolutely insane, there might be a few vods still around for any of you interested in seeing one of the best to ever do it.

When I watch fp vods, Clem looks faster than maru and ByuN.. Certainly he switches screen views faster than them at least.
Why do terrans not put a raven with the army to be able to get those DTs and observers without spending a scan? Is resource/supply economy just that tight in the late game, or is it just that scans are free enough and there are better things to build with the production. Thanks for the insightful commentary.
You need a starport on a techlab and also when having the raven on the same control group as the army it makes the micro harder because of its spells so you have to press tab
@@GALAX137X Thanks for the reply, those are some big action economy costs and opportunity costs that would make ravens pretty unattractive to use.
Was there ever a point in this game where you thought byun would want to scan but didn't have the energy? Not really.
Was there ever a point where he was low on gas and minerals? Yes
There are some TvP builds that factor a few Ravens in for a timing attack, interference matrix can be the game winning move in such instances to shut down Immortals or Colossi, but if you're playing a macro oriented game it's not as efficient compared to just having a ton of orbitals that can't get sniped easily

Need help, fellow new starcraft player here... I came here specifically because I wanted to see how other pro players are managing their troops with control at high APMs. I have had a stunningly difficult time finding content that addresses this issue. All I see is entertainment commentary in nature and that cannot help me. Instead I'm wondering: How many control groups do pros have? Do they use all 10 slots? How is it possible to micro so that with 4 types of infantry each on gets their own control group? More importantly, as new infantry are leaving their barracks, how do you assimilate them into like-kind groups on the fly?
The toughest thing about starcraft isn't knowing what to do. It's not moving the mouse and clicking fast. It's managing everything into groups which you control and memorize swiftly so that you actually do the things your brain wants to do. Every time I play I can think 5x faster than I can do. Good starcraft players do not have this problem. I can type 70-90 wpm, so the finger dexterity is not the problem. Hm. Any tutorials that you can recommend?
Masters 1 Zerg trying to offrace as terran atm and looking for the same content. I'm pretty sure terran players are super flexible with their hotkeys, consistently moving units between groups depending on how they're being used. What I noticed here, Byun always had the liberators on a separate hotkey, the drop were on a hotkey, and the ghosts were together with his main army hotkey - so 3 were used. The part I'm struggling with is how to get the drop into its own hotkey and the mechanics to add new units to the army.
EDIT: Check out Terrancraft - it's a blog site with some in depth discussion on these sort of things. It goes over production hotkeys in detail. Still looking for how to practice army mechanics though.

@@joshuawall2590 I think I've seen it, goes into some good detail about the production and what units should be hotkeyed but not 'how' to hotkey them.
One way of joining new units into the army as Terran is having all production buildings set to rally at the fresh base, and have a separate camera hotkey (I use side mouse button) for the rally point.
That way you can camera hotkey to rally point, select and add into army group.
A move to throwaway hotkey is also great for Terran, which is steal from current group and create new so you can select for example 2 medivacs and remove them from whatever control group they are in to send them off for a drop in a single key press, I have they bound to tilde.
Also changing all group creation to steal from and add to instead of just add to so units are only ever in 1 control group max.

I think APM is pretty similar between the two. They're super similar when it comes to both of their views looking FRANTIC and their multi-tasking and micro being able to win them games from terrible situations. Byun became world champ in 2016 and has been at this for over a decade, I like to think of Clem as the next generation that'll take over at some point (or arguable already? if you look at his recent success!)
I can't keep watching POV they are just too fast. Almost feel dizzy after watching this :D@@PiGstarcraft
