Not great with respect the fire man approach the lorry without considering the wind direction

Kind of ironic when Tewkesbury is normally underwater!

ive always been a fan of reels...for some reason a lot of guys dont share my sentiment. pull and go, no flaking no repacking and doesnt take up much space.

Nice to see two retained crews on a video

Way better response time than US fire service.

I just don't get it. What is it with American and Canadian crews who often take 5 mins to get water on the fire?

I know the diameter of the attack lines are smaller then what we use here in the states. But can someone tell me what size line it is and what the operating pressure is. I believe over there they use 2 stage pumps but I'm not certain. Also can someone tell me what they have for liters/gallons per minute at the nozzle.

Where I am from, 25mm live reels are basically the first attack in most cases. We also have ordinary flat hose in 25mm, 48mm and 64mm diameter. For the high pressure reels it varies but upto 7000kpa at the pump in some cases. The branch (nozzle, I don't know if you use the word 'branch'!) comes in various sizes and flow rates but they can be adjustable anywhere from 15L/m to over 500. On the 25mm reel they might go upto 200L/m. But these exact numbers vary from place to place. Normal urban pumpers like in the video usually arry about 1500L of tank water but in rural areas can carry upto 4000L. But it varies, hose reels can be 15 to 35mm diameter. In contrast to the US the largest hose is basically 64mm, which is also used as supply hose.

Thank you for the explanation really appreciate it. Your 25,48 and 64 mm line are basically the same we use here. All our trucks over here are low pressure pumps. Our one 1 inch line (your 25 mm) is mostly used for forestry purposes. Our 13/4 inch line (Your 48 mm) is our main attack line and our 2 1/2 inch line (your 64 mm) is for supply or master stream. I really like the idea of the 1 inch with the high pressure as it is a quick deployment line.

Either 19 or 22mm and 40 bar. Normally run between 25-30 bar.

25mm hose and can pump as much as 50bar,also use 45mm and 70mm hose with the appliance carrying 1800litres of water for a standard British fire appliance.
