    I really like when you show the rough rocks too. Glad you found the spray bottle. Makes the rocks pop.

    What a great educational video!!! I learned so much and very thankful I watched until the end because my grandmother had a lot of the shell Turquoise jewelry and I had no idea what I had. Most are are pendant with earrings set in silver. I'm glad kept them. Thanks again. See you at the auction tomorrow! :)
    Hope dinner was super delightful and satisfying.

    Great video! I’m new to the rock enthusiasm, and have made jewelry for the last 13 years. Started doing wire wrapping/weaving a few years back, and only started using cabs and stones this last year or so. So much great information you have shared! Thank you.

    I visited this business when I first moved here in Albuquerque. I was surprised at the high prices and the fact so much was all imported. I was told there were groups that go on hunts if you were interested in joining. Even use their equipment to cut your specimens.

    I used to go here every week with my bestie and just browse and get cool stones. The last time i went (several years ago) a lady literally followed me a few feet behind the entire time. I even went as far as to walk across the store, turn around and walk right back to my friend. When i told the cashier about the lady following me, i was told it was the owner of the store. Last time i went, now i go to metaphysical shops for stones, and online or sometimes craft stores for beads. Very disappointing experience.

    Love the shopping videos, unlikely I'd ever be able to go to the USA even though I'm 5 min from the border. Great seeing these shops. Even though I've had covid, invaxed aren't allowed to cross and you're not considered fully vaxed unless you get a shot every 3-6 months. Which I'm not bothering with since I've been around coronavirus for the last 8 years of farm work.

    Nice video Dave, I'm in Denver now, heading to Monte Vista CO, closer to the border of NM, it's the change I am needing to leave CA I knew I couldn't move and travel etc.. and find a place to stay, came to visit family etc.. in Denver but its like CA price wise I'm hoping to find sn affordable place like I mentioned. Bro if we can start fresh I was having some issues with trust and the people around me, may have skewed my over all thinking, something you said has stuck on my head won't mention here but I got your number still if we can talk and be cool I would like that. Your a good guy do great videos etc.. much respect too brother.. Doug

    Those septarian make the coolest book ends ,I think that's what they are called .I seen students in class go directly from the first wheel on the cab King to the zam on polishing wheels and I was actually quite shocked at how how their finished cabs came out . I'll use zam but I always go a bit more in terms of higher grit wheels . I not sure if it's the lighting or vid I can see on a lot of them slabs they need a bit more time . Might be done on a recip or oscillating polisher also .

    This couple I knew a few years back had them an amazonite mine in co . They had put together a specimen for years like at least three from what I remember. They sold it for like 50000 at the Deming show ,I was in aw at the money they fetched for it, was like dang that's crazy . I guess most mine owners get that kinda score every once in a while ?

    All retail is faced with overhead for stability where "running naked" has all investment is at risk and momentary, not waiting like a baited trap. A rockhound trap... Outside no labels stick and ink fades.

    You show the sign outside so clearly for 2 minutes, but not the labels on the stones, we may not know what they are. Hold the label steady for a couple of moments so I can see what it says. Such beautiful stones! I don't know them all and want to read the labels and learn. Thanks.

    What you call “pyritized sand dollars” in basalt are actually pyrite suns in coal. Super seven is not 7 different minerals, just hematite and goethite in quartz.

    • @lapidarydave
      @lapidarydave  Рік тому

      To me, lapis only comes from Afghanistan. Everything else is just Azraai colored material same thing with Chrysoprase only coming from Australia Carnelian only coming from India there’s a lot of material that has similar varieties found around the world, but somewhere like champagne and have to be regional

  • @edie4321

    Almost all my amethyst from Mama's has faded to clear, without being in the sun. Whoever colored their crystals for them in the early 2000's did a horrible job. My citrine from them is also just colored quartz. I used to go there when I was a single mom of four to destress with the minerals. It was such a nice high in the store. Then they moved to a tourist location and I no longer bother. The fake and cheap crystals have taken over the stores and shows bringing down the vibes. Nothing is as it used to be, even nature. Mother is under assault by all this greed in so many ways.
