It’s weird. Every time I argue that they shouldn’t have killed off chef, I’m always told that the character of chef was designed and based SPECIFICALLY on and for Isaac Hayes. Watching this, that’s clearly not the case. Chef was created before Isaac’s casting.
I read that he had a stroke not long after the Scientology episode, and it was actually the church that sent a letter to Matt and Trey quitting the show. They pretended to be Issac and did it against his wishes.
Matt and Trey make it quite clear on the commentary for The Return of Chef, that they were never mad with Hayes, only the Scientologists for screwing the mind of Hayes.
People has the right to believe what they want to, what would you do if someone ridulculed something that u believed in , u most likely to take offense Trey and Matt's show is good ,its not nesessary to add religion jokes they arent funny at all if u do find them funny then u either athiest or agnostic.
I literally googled "how did they get Isaac Hayes to do South Park" and could not have asked for a better answer, it's like trey and Matt circa 2000 read my mind
I saw a recent interview where Matt basically said the show is Trey's. He's there for voices, feedback, and the occasional writing but that almost everything you see on the show was in Trey's head.
@@mantislake4141 Matt is good at the dealing with the network and hollywood business crap, and is able to protect the integrity of the show and its vision. He frees up Trey to focus on what he is good at. They both have their strengths and balance out each others weaknesses
They should do a movie about their lives up to this point. The way they described recruiting Hayes sounded like something out of a coming of age story about two producers. South Park Style.
This is a very interesting story about issac hayes. I didn't know why his agent didn't tell him exactly what he was supposed to do. But it's cool he wasn't offended and went along with his chef character for so many years. He should be proud! RIP chef/ issac hayes
I love South Park and the late Isaac Hayes. He was perfectly cast as the voice of Chef and South Park is everything Family Guy will never be. American Dad's better. But yeah, go South Park!

I really think Chef or Chef 2.0 will return. Everyone knows that fruity little club revived him. It's just a matter of time. It not might be until the series finally, but he will be back.

Kinda like how Squidward is the only guy with common sense in spongebob. Well Sandy too but she’s doesn’t appear in basically every episode.

Unfortunately he was offended by portrayal of Scientology in South Park and left the show

how long did it take you to do the math ? Be honest.
Matt and Trey make it quite clear on the commentary for The Return of Chef, that they were never mad with Hayes, only the Scientologists for screwing the mind of Hayes.
Exactly. Kyle's speech at the end of 'The Return of Chef' shows that they always had respect for Isaac.
Rumour has it Matt raped Isaac Hayes, although don't quote me on that I heard it on Fox News.
it was on top of a pinball machine i heard
blackham7 heard they kept telling Isaac to squel! Piggy Squel!!

Matt turns into Kyle's dad at the end lol
Isaac Hayes: Am I getting paid for this?
Trey and Matt: Yes
Isaac Hayes: Let's do this
Trey and Matt : Really!?!
Isaac Hayes : You daaaaaaaamn right.
Matt and treys formula for success: your cooperation + letting us do what we want = success
Sea Men + Sea People = Seacioty = Seasess
Teamwork + creative freedom = success
Cooperation + you doing nothing = success
Trey impersonating Matt is my new favourite thing.
Matt Impersonating himself was also gold

Chef was the best character on the show. I miss him.
rest in peace Isaac Hayes, your voice was funny as hell in South Park.
Matt and Trey are comedic legends. South Park is the only animated comedy series that will surpass time itself.
I love Trey's impression of himself
"It actually worked out better, I think," understatement of the year.
Matt's humility keeps him from being another Art Garfunkel.
