We are so lucky in New Zealand that our young ones understand and are exposed to the knowledge of farm life. I was 16 when I got billeted on a farm, while on a school trip. The owners say, " Hey city boy go and get the milk." So off I go to the farm gate which is a long walk down the drive to find no milk. I return to be given a bucket and stool, they point to the cows tether to the fence. Back then, this city boy got his milk delivered in bottles to his house. 🤣
I grew up on Goats milk. At times I use to help my mum milk the Goats, as it was a daily job. We had a house on a large block, like a mini-farm in the hills of Perth with Goats, sheep, horses and chooks. Raising little chickens and baby Goats was a novelty as a kid in the 1970's, as the eggs and milk helped the family budget in tough times raising 4 kids.
Hello Ellie. I grew up on my sister's dairy farm. But your video showed me how a larger dairy farm operates. And you're 100% correct. It's important that people learn about where their food originates.
ah there you go! i didn’t mention but my mom grew up on a farm, with way less cows, but i heard stories growing up so it was really cool to see it on a grander scale!
