If you pitch sword of the meek to seasoned pyro, does the token come into play equipped with the sword? Also, i was hoping that Gut would've made an appearance in your draft
@29:50 Shouldn't you have played Parrallax Wave, hit Preacher, play Extruder to deal 2 (13) take the hit from Tourach down to 4, played Scarlet and Recruiter with 7 mana the following turn, attack for 10 (3) and leave them dead to 1 of 2 mana crypt flips? Or does that line not work? Obviously the opponent could have something, but it seemed worth a shot. Note I forgot Mana Confluence would leave you at 2 not 4.
It was definitely a premature concession. Obviously his opponent can do things to disrupt but there were multiple remaining paths to victory there. It looked like LSV just felt outgunned by his opponent drawing so many cards and having a large pro-white creature, but he could chump the pro-white creature more or less indefinitely with extruder if he doesn't just get lethal on the next turn, and he had removal for anything else between path and parallax wave, alongside headliner scarlet to draw cards. *And* he still had the monarch for that turn so he was going to see another card. Parallax wave blanks the converter 2/2's so those aren't really an issue. Would he have for sure won? No, and he probably wasn't favored, but it was certainly close: just surviving against a mana crypt is a potential win-con in itself. I get a bit frustrated when I see LSV concede so easily these days, because it's such a joy to see him in try-hard mode battling back from losing positions. I really appreciate LSV as a player and a person, but it does feel like the last year or so, he's not trying as hard. Maybe it's just the fact that in these team drafts, there's no stakes beyond the honor and therefore less of a reason to try-hard. Well, I feel like a jerk speculating on a stranger's psychology, but it's hard not to want to talk about this as a long-time viewer and fan.
@@brianh5844 I think aggro players are used to finding ways to get just over the finish line. As a combo player he probably just wasn't looking for it. LSV has seen combo lines that blow my mind.
R1G1, playing the glimmer lens was def a mistake. It doesn't do much beyond attack for 2 on the next turn, and ensuring that you keep monarch is too important. Glimmer lens blocks a haster, but path kills a haster and more.
After watching these every day at lunch for awhile now I can't understand lsv's lack of appreciation for 1 drop creatures in aggro decks. I would have lost the artifact themes somewhat and got a couple more creatures to pressure. But also I'm not LSV who cubes way more
Based off him talking about vintage cube on limited resources, I think lsv doesn’t really believe in hyper aggro as a viable deck anymore. Definitely not in red at least
Hullbreacher is so broken, I truly believe you have to hate every draw 7 with priority if you pass it.. But I it's in my top 15, easy. I don't pass it.
I was waiting for him to notice the obvious on board with with Paragon and Bombardiers. Took a lot longer for him to find the line that I thought it would, almost blew it
There's a lot of Anglicanized pronunciation in the community. Magda in a Polish accent has a soft A. I'm sure it's different in other cultures. There are some really bizarre ones - MenTore is my favorite. It has a nice cadence after Monastery but I don't think anyone anywhere actually says menTore. Some huge number of these names are totally made up too so who's to say, right?
@@douglaswills4624 Mentor often has two pronunciations: emphasis on the second syllable (men-TORE) as pyromusicman described (though its bizarre to have never heard that pronunciation before), or a way softer second syllable (MEN-ter) which is typically used more often in American English for the verb "mentor" or "mentoring", at least in my life/region. Those are the two main pronunciations I can think of.
Yea there is no way you can reconcile having the thoracle combo in a cube while excluding time vault because it is no fun. Not sure what the latest iteration of the cube is but thoracle doomsday is significantly harder to pull off and deserves a slot if the doomsday package is in the cube
Gosh, calling that balance was such a great moment lol
45:50 what a great draft moment. You really feel the hopelessness that’s what made it so golden by the end lol
Not me yelling at my screen it was lethal
Quite happy to see Oracle Consult going. It's not a fun combo, personally.
Fun deck - loved that clutch Paragon play!
SERRA PARAGON, FROM THE TOP ROPE
“He could have balance”
I love how LSV predicts his own demise.
40:33 I think I've got it here
Happy 1 year anniversary of daily vids!
Bomba continues to be an absolutely bananas three drop, all things balanced as intended. "Oops, dead out of nowhere"
If you pitch sword of the meek to seasoned pyro, does the token come into play equipped with the sword?

is bomat just not good anymore? seems like it would be a better fit in this deck than ginger since you already had better 2's
I guess with mox 2 drop are always better
@@guim3419 in general yes but bomat also opens on the draw mox bomat strip mine your land which is just backbreaking
Ginger with plunderer, magda, and extruder seems pretty good to me. I think bomat is a fine card, but this pick didn't strike me as strange.
Call Your Mother is so good! Happy for ya
The world is a better place when LSV drafts Parallax Wave.
That bombadiers serra play was epic. Didn't think you had any chance of coming back that game
Fave comment of this video "yea, I don't really like how this has gone"
also i wouldve taken lantern because it kinda hates the echo without potentially cutting bk
47:00 disgusting card

Oh damn i was scared you were gonna miss saccimh serra paragon

5:10 But did you make sure to give your Mom a call after enjoying your delicious bagel?
11:27 I love a Strip Mine but there is noooo way that was the correct pick over Chrome Mox in your Red/White aggressive artifact deck.
Love call your mother!
Why oracle and consult instead of just consult? Is oracle doomsday really a problem?
Time for lunch
If you used strip mine on thier only island they probably cast 3/2 in response???
Just speaking to my viewing experience, I'd rather see fewer/later concedes.

I dont understand how demonic consultation is still in the cube. It is such a boring card
Consult is fine, it's just not fine in conjunction with Thoracle.
He said he's pulling it out on this video

Should keep oracle for doomsday combo decks but consultation is awful.
