    I'm from Singapore and I would say the way she talks and the vocab she uses are very typical of us here in Singapore. But just a note, here in Singapore we speak English on a daily basis and the whole education system from primary school to high school is taught in English including subjects like math, econs etc. Most of us are better at English than our own mother tongue so we are not really non-native speakers LOL

    The fact that she misses her ‘d’s, is akin to how aussies tend to pronounce ‘aa’s as ‘ah’s instead. So should one be punished for their own native accents rather than allowing one to celebrate it as part of their innate culture identity.

    • @IELTSDaily
      @IELTSDaily  2 роки тому +1

      The question is very pertinent (if it was, indeed, a question). There is a fine line between what is 'acceptable/celebrated' to what should be noted as a slip. Consider an Irish person who pronounces 'three' as 'tree', this would be very likely be marked down by an examiner because "th" is not normally pronounced as "ch". Or a British English speaker who says "wiv" rather than "with". It's such a hard question as language is so changeable.
      Ultimately, though, as this is language assessment, there should be benchmarks and so our advice to students is to keep being themselves in every day life, but on the test day, try to exaggerate a little.

    I like watching her, together with Saskia. But comparing with Saskia, she gives more developed answers, and for non-native speakers it sometimes hard to speak as fast as natives, And here she shows the amplitude of the naturality of a speech I've ever seen

      Actually you don't need to organise any ideas. You should just speak as naturally as possible - just like you're talking to a friend.

    In home town , you can mentioned the difference weather , if you go outside of the foreign countries , you can be compared another countries and weather and say why you like . In the furniture part , you can involve what furniture that you like and connected with the decoration (like me , I like the write colour furniture because of the simple life or minimalism) . In the questions , how often do you use the handwriting --> Please mentioned about like " five times a week " - official day m it may see more phrases that you illustrate. In the personal stories part , please reflect the importance or significance of life and you can mentioned the quantity and quality of love in the home and meet with your surrounding environment . At the same time , you can tell more the people who live in the modern era has neglected and ignored. In the " good news part " , you can mentuined why the COV19 pandemic or health condition affect the job market and you can provide the strong argument it is worth knowing the " good news " and try to defines the words of the good news --> you should mentioned realising the dream of the job and academic-related is a worth meaning for me . The University and dream course is the good news ? Why ?

      I find there's nothing wrong with using filler words unless it doesn't interrupt the flow of your speech But sure enough, you'd be better off not making frequent use of them since those sounds can somehow be distracting to listen to
