Awesome mate, finally visited Hong Kong with CX after being away for around 2 years in early October, then visited again in December - Early Jan. Great to be flying again!
I love Cathay's A350s! Was lucky enough to board an A359 for my outbound HK flight as well as a B77W for my inbound HK flight before the pandemic and I find the A350 more comfortable. The Trent XWB engine is one quiet engine. Though the GE90 of the B77W provided some exciting take offs! Sad that CX now only uses B77Ws for flights in my country but I won't complain, it's still a nice aircraft.
Yes A350 is definitely an improvement both for cabin space and seating, and if you have chance to ride on their A35K, you will probably find that the seats are even more comfortable (I think the seat on -900 is too thin and you may easily get disturbed by passenger behind using their seat pockets). And of course the sound of GE90 engine on 77W is unbeatable 😆
Great airline, still the 4th best airline in all of Asia, and they are by far the least expensive when traveling internationally. Bonus points if you can name all 3 Asian Airlines with better service!
Just took Quatar, had to get economy, thought it would be as good as Cathay which I've taken to asia around 20 times. Boy was I wrong, Quatar economy was possibly the worst I've experienced. Cathay for me from here on out.
The economy lineups always gives me a laugh all the time. You have preassigned seats. It's not first come first served. Why stand for half an hour just to board unless you're at the front don't even bother until 90% of econ class boards
They are literally now the cheapest international airline, not sure how you came to your blatantly incorrect conclusion. They are hundreds of dollars less than Eva, AC, China Airlines, and Singapore Airlines for international flights. Next to SA, and any Japanese airline they still offer the best service available
As i tot no offence CX has really gone down the drain over the last few years way before COVID and though their business class is still ok their economy is terrible ... It's no more the same as in the 80s and 90s and early 2000s. Sorry but that's the truth. And I am not impressed when economy class comes with plastic cutlery.
Very informative and wonderful trip report! I wish HKG would be back to its glorious pre pandemic era as soon as possible

Is there an option to order snacks or drinks off the screen in your seat? Or do you have to wait for them to come around?
No you can't order food directly from the website - Must check with the cabin crew
What app u use to check planes on ground?
香港航班資訊
I hope the food tastes better than it looks.
Good job!
Nice review
Can you share us about your check in luggage and hand carry luggage?
check in 1 pc max 23kg; cabin 1 pc max 7kg
Can carry - cabin bag 7kg + laptop bag also or both include 7kgs.
Same question
終於再飛 👀
Yes finally have the chance and no need to quarantine at hotel...
What the tirminal in ph cathay pacific T1 or T2 or T3
Terminal 1 in Perth
I LOVE CATHAY :; SURABAYA HONGKOG EVERY DAY PLS
Lol. There is no post Covid in HK. It still looks like March 2020! Most obedient and compliant sheep!
Surprisingly, you only allowed 1 pc of 50lbs luggage traveling internationally.
Yes as I redeemed the ticket. For paid ticket you can choose 1 to 2 pc of baggage up to 50lbs (of coz come with higher fare)
16:45 "Gweilo Craft Beer" isn't that racist lol
And yet seemingly Gweilo is a craft beer brand founded by a group of foreigners living HK so...just a bit of humour in it I guess

They are crazy expensive now and cannot trust them to not cancel a given flight. They were so great at one time.
Seems particular so for HK express
