Well that hay will keep the cows and horses happy and you will probly get least one or two more cutting this year ..there is always the next cutting look forward to ..good video
Some beautiful hay the color and the ground being green is awesome. Please do a video of a complete day i know its hard but. Going from all the things going on at the ranch. Im a person to sit and watch the complete video nothing is boring to me.
Throughly enjoyed you video, you talk to us just like we r there with you, hey we can all learn stuff, hay is a big topic to us lately here in southeast arkansas, heaves have been a huge issue
Hi,, am our in middle of navaho res,, watch your ?? Channel. On u tube, when around Wi-Fi,, but miss some many of episodes,, don't when u stated,, but keep it up,,
Rain has been crazy this year. Last year was so much drier, it's crazy. the good news is I only have to water my lawn about once a week this year for a short time, but last year I watered twice week for a very long time. For some strange reason my water bill is still the same as last year... The other bad news is Army worms. Back yard was covered in them the other day. I think I got rid of them all, and there is no real damage that I can see. Hopefully you won't get hit by them, I hear they can be devastating to a farm.
What some people might not understand is that the hay laying on the ground for too long is also not too good for the hay that’s trying to come up underneath. The mowed hay stops the next cutting from growing like it should and if left too long can actually kill the plants underneath. Also every time you rake it you lose leaf matter which is where most of the nutrition is so every time you have to turn it, the quality decreases. It’s so frustrating when you have a nice stand like that one and you cannot make the hay to its fullest nutritional potential
You wanna hear a wreck..... I was baling with a little too much moisture and clogged up my round baler. What a bitch that was to get out !!!!! They need to put a reverse on these John Deeres that you can unclog. You're gonna have some seals go out on that PTO if it got that hot. And plan on paying big bucks for a seal.
This has nothin to to do with this video but I try and watch ur channel when I get time. I was wondering if you stand any studs. I have a mare Rosetta Ruby goes back to playboys Ruby. Would sure like to get a colt out of her.
Sounds about normal for haying to me. Just stay after it until you get it saved. I think you might be a little short on patience sometimes. I wonder about the tractor after that much heat, sounds like trouble down the road at an inopportune time.
I found a squash bug on my zucchini and proceeded to mow all grass where I saw the alfalfa blooms. Thank you no more squash bugs. I pulled all the blooms on the zucchini as well
The hay situation in Montana is also a disaster. a good deal on hay is $325 a ton at the stack. we bought hay that we really cannot afford just to buy some time and hope for a miracle spring next year, if the weather does not turn around we will have to cut our lease ground out and just run the home ranch with is not big at all 150 mother cows. Lucky for me I am just a single hermit so I think I can limp by like a bum live on mac and cheese and tap water. good bye rib eye steaks wild shrimp and buying any new toys for the ranch. Wish you the best Mendota Ranch.
All Good... y'all did the best under "moving conditions".
Love your Hummer squad!🐕
I enjoy the videos of life on the ranch. Keep them coming!

I learn as much from seeing what goes wrong as from seeing what goes right. Thanks for sharing it.
Great video as always. I grew up around ranching and custom farming. The hay business ain’t as easy as people think it is. Keep up the great work Bud.
Glad I’m not the only one! Welcome to what it’s like in south east.
Got to show the bad with the good. Everyone likes to see that they are not the only ones that has things break when they go to the field
Let's see the hay loader on the front of the skid steer!!!!

Watch Bales hay! That hay looks rough, you need a different strategy. Day 3 rake bottom up. ( roll it over for green slugs). Bale late in day

I'm sure glad you got the hay "off." Always a concern to get the highest quality possible.
