I seriously hope more people give this a try. It is a dream game for any Strategy RPG fan.
Seriously, if any of you have enjoyed Fire Emblem on the Switch like I have, give this game a look.
Played the Demo found that it definitely scratched the itch I had for a good tactical RPG. Kinda wish permadeath was a thing though.
@@kylewoodowens4488 There seems to be a new difficulty mode called True Zenoiran that does have permadeath, but unfortunately, it's locked behind clearing the game once.

I started the demo but gave up pretty quickly, I found the gameplay rather boring. I would have preferred gameplay like Fire Emblem. This is its only big flaw for me, if it hadn't been for this kind of gameplay I would have undoubtedly bought the game. Really disappointed.
@@TheDoctorJopa This is not fire emblem, you can't expect it to have gameplay like another franchise and then be disappointed and say it's a flaw.

Vanillaware makes absolutely visually stunning games that also play brilliantly. Atlus is a stamp of almost universal quality in modern times. This is probably an easy must buy.
Looks like an interesting strategy JRPG, I'll probably give it a shot.

im screaming and crying for people to buy this and play this. it's the best RPG this year. don't get memed into skipping it for nostalgiabait FF7. this is such a great and fresh new experience.

Why do this tho? I mean you can enjoy both. I really don't understand ppl who say things like this? Besides FF7 Rebirth is a fantastic game, i am having a blast with it, and i know i am going to enjoy Unicorn Overlord as well.
@@TheDoctorJopait's the same concept of positioning, picking fights, and character builds, with the added cool stuff of actually being able to customize the characters' combat behavior. and then you have a bunch of similar hub world stuff, character bonding, etc
Game is amazing. Get it people. I went from not caring about the game to downloading the demo and it’s a blast. Picked up a copy from GameStop.

Clearing the map bit by bit and recruiting more and more people is very adicting. The battle gameplay is a masterpiece.
Good mix of Ogre Battle and Fire Emblem with Vanillaware's godlike art.

This game is so addicting.
I was unsure if I would like this game because I wasn't really sure what the actual combat was like but HEAR ME OUT - it's kind of like Miitopia. Your units autobattle and you just prepare them before each fight. It's obviously a lot more than that (since you move them around the arena and can strategize that way) but that's really the closest description I could think of and playing Miitopia prior is what made me decide to buy this game idk. And also the story is really damn good so that probably helped too lol.
Never even heard of Vanillaware until this and I am impressed.
Demo = a small taste of this amazing game! I knew I had to make something happen to get this! So glad I did!
So many games coming out on Nintendo Switch these days. Third-party support is just not letting up. Nintendo switch is clearly one of the most successful video game consoles of all time.

This game is a sleeper hit. A lot of people I know were turned off by the name, but once I convinced them to play they loved it. If you are on the fence, play the demo (it allows you to play for like 7 hours) Then check out the game, it is really good!

The only thing that spoils this game for me is the fact that it always shows the result of the fights before the confrontation... if only it had a difficulty that took away the preview of the result of the confrontation between units (as it is in Ogre battle 64) I would buy this game =/
It 100% accurate tho? I think it sometimes doesn't take into account some skills like thief dodge one and the extra AP cavaliers get. I could be wrong tho
I dont think it does. It just gives the base damage planned to be taken just like in FE or FF Tactics.
@@patriciogonzalez9329 it's 100% accurate, it even predicts when your character will dodge and doesn't count the damage '~' so much so that you can skip the combat animation by pressing the + button and the result of the battle is exactly as shown
@@epiclight858 if it was like the GBA FE games that just show you if your unit has an advantage depending on the weapon... but I've completely lost the immersion, I have no excitement for a character I really like to do something incredible like dodge at a crucial moment or a critical hit, combat in this game is purely trivial, what matters is the macro of it, and that annoys me a lot because the art is so beautiful in this game, the planning system so deep. ... and they boil it all down to "you just choose the unit that's going to win, and go..." you don't need tactical knowledge about the class and their advantages and disadvantages, you don't need to evaluate the enemy unit and make a conscious decision. you just choose the unit that wins, and that's it.

I'm going to take a guess and say you haven't played the demo past 5 hours. After the initial several battles, the real meat of the game opens up and it is a lot more involved. There is a lot to pay attention to and it acts more like a Real Time Strategy game. It isn't as passive as just having auto battles. @@CheckmateStallioN

Did I just see Alain's mom traveling alongside Alain in a cutscene? Does that mean his mom is still alive?
I don't know but based off of what I have played and seen so far in the game I would say probably yes. It only seemed like she died but the big baddies can apparently possess people so why kill her instead of possess and use. Also I found it odd that she had support stats for someone who was going to be killed off right away.
Not sure, but usually if you don't actually SEE a character die then there's a small chance they still live.

Funny that the game is advertised as, "The rebirth of tactical RPGs"; Vanillaware missed the rebirth by a few years, but this game still does look very good.
It's because the only one last year was Fire Emblem Engage, the Donald Trump of Fire Emblem games. It's Sega implying that game killed the franchise.
