- I want to flatbed this thing so bad! This is my dads 2019 ford ranger XLT he just got off Copart. Rear end damage, but it turned out to be a easy fix! This thing is so clean, and the little changes he's made so far really made a difference. Fender flares add so much to the look of these, and the small lift, raptor style grille and fresh headlights have really made this look good.
Now that the frame is repaired, he can have it inspected and registered with a rebuilt title.

We love our 2019 Ford Ranger FX4. What an amazing score with a rear locker!
It's hard to beat the Ranger with the best in its class for towing and payload! Not to mention more ergonomically friendly than other mid-size truck models. Plus, that 2.3 liter turbo engine just makes me smile every time I put my foot on the gas.
Just do it, buy one! 😊 So you'll stop thinking about it. Instead, you'll just be building it out in your head. While you get your dad's built out.
Couple suggestions, RTR fender flares (for your build) Baja design front driving light kit (bumper) and ditch light kit. There is a fellow on the Ranger 5G forum who makes front 2" receivers if you choose to keep the build weight down. He does them for fun. While I know you like to build stuff. I found it was actually cheaper to just pick one up from him. The Old Man Emu is one of the best bang for your buck suspension upgrades. Not to mention, it levels out the truck. I personally did Method Beadgrip 707 rims, Falcon Wildpeak AT3W 285x70x17 tires, and installed the Apex Fast Deflators values (wicked fast ie seconds - deflat / inflat)
Man, this is going to be a fun journey. Thank you for making Ranger content. It's too often overlooked for such an amazing truck.

I've heard on the web that those twin turbo engines have a longetivity issue. A couple years ago when I needed to replace my old truck, I looked at the Rangers, but at that point the there were multiple folks on various forums who had their engines fail. Maybe they've fixed it by now. I'd say do a flat bed on the new Nissan Frontier.

Is the reinforcement plate you installed going to eliminate an important energy absorbing crush zone that failed, as it was designed to, last time this truck was rear ended?
That’s a good question. It’s stiffer there now for sure. But I feel like the bumper mounting position will still cause a similar reaction

I need to learn how to weld. There’s a few projects/ repairs that I would like to make, but I don’t have the tools or skills. And I feel like the price of entry into welding is high.
I agree on both points. It’s pricey to start, and you need to learn! As soon as I learned I started getting paid projects making random things like desks, racks, repairs ect. It’s a really marketable skill, abs easy way to pay off the equipment
I mean I'd send you my truck do a build on if I had the money 2018 colorado 4x4 I'd love to have a set up like yours might actually try to do it one day
