I don't mind looking old. I just turned 70, and I am not ashamed of it. I don't worry what others think if I'm clean and presentable. I wear what I like, what is comfortable, and what I can afford. I've never dyed my hair either. I do love this channel. I appreciate tips for wearing clothes that compliment an apple shaped body. I am what I am. Took getting old to relax and accept myself.

Stopping coloring my hair was the best decision for me, ever. No more sitting in a chair every 6 weeks and spending all that money to put possibly harmful chemicals on my head. I get compliments on my hair all the time! I NEVER got compliments on my colored hair. :) A youthful CUT is what matters, not the coloring.

Cathy, some women also tend to use thicker, tired sounding voices as time goes on. That makes the individual sound old or like a smokers voice. We were taught to sound chirpy as if we’re smiling in a mirror… and not tired and old. Happy chirping🥰 to us all.

I don't care what other people thing, and I don't want to pass out from heat stroke, lol I just got all my covid hair cut a few weeks ago, its super short now and I love it. Black used to be my wardrobe staple, too. Then I discovered navy blue. Deep, rich navy blue is as slimming as black but doesn't wash out my complexion. Great video Cathy, lots of excellent ideas! Special notice to your segment about avoiding boxy and oversized clothes! Proper fit should be comfortable and build confidence! AND proper fitting bras! So important!!

I’ll be 60 in a few weeks. You are blessed to have thick hair. My hair is thin and curly, almost kinky. It got worse during c.Ovid. I searched for wigs. I found a human hair wig by Follea (Daniel Alain). They are incredibly beautiful and very expensive, but worth every singe penny. Hairdressers have difficulty telling if it’s a wig. I wore the wig to my hair dresser and she gave it a beautiful cut while it was in my head! She cut bangs so they were on an angle. So gorgeous! She thinned it out and made it frame my face and be light and fluffy. I love my wig! And am buying a second! It’s so much easier to care for than super duper curly hair. I wash it and air dry it. Maybe put a few sponge rollers to put a bend in the end. Leave it a little messy, so it’s not perfect my hair dress suggested. It’s amazing how much easier it is to manage straight hair than curly. Woah! I still wear my curls, but it’s rare. A wig can take 20 years off the appearance without a face lift. It’s incredible. So that’s what I do. Haha my husband says to me, don’t bother with makeup, just put the wig on if you only have time for one thing! 😂😂😂😂 Love your channel!

I am 70 and have curly thinning hair. It is below shoulder length and I have long layers cut into it. I colour it blonde but wish it would go white. I have recently discovered John Frieda shampoo and conditioner for thinner hair. It is amazing and their curl activator too. Then I let it dry naturally. Give it a try. I like my curls as they only appeared about 20 years ago and it’s as if I have a perm.

Cathy, for those of you who love black, try navy instead. It does everything black does (I.e., makes you look slimmer), but it is less harsh, doesn’t wash one out, looks expensive and goes with almost everyone’s complexion.

I also had to stop wearing black because it washed me out too. I switched to navy and it’s a game changer. Looks great with bright colors and is season less. navy looks great on most skin tones.

The old ladies in those 1930s films always wore black (because of widowhood*maybe) with a white collar and perhaps a brooch preferably a cameo. Those frail old ladies were all of 40 something.
*I say that because my grandmother had quite a few of her grandmothers’s dresses and they had all been dyed black.

With so many beautiful colors and prints, why wear black? I’ll opt for a navy blue blouse rather than black. For pants, fine, but I don’t like black near my face.

    I need glasses, strong glasses.
Used to have frameless spectacles but realized that they are very inpractical in daily use and also did not enhance my face.
    I switched to color!
Meanwhile I own 8 sets of glasses to compliment the clothes colors I wear.
It makes such a great difference - I feel younger than my 63 years.
Those colorful pizazz glasses add to my overall feeling 😁😁😁

I’ve got really short silver white hair, (stopped colouring it 10 years ago as it was so expensive, and was lucky with my grey result!) and wear black a lot.
However, I feel as we age, we all need a great well maintained haircut, and some makeup and jewelry to keep looking bright and fresh.
    Not too much, but classic.
    Yellow teeth!
    Ick!

    Great info video.
Being a woman is a beautiful thing. And it's not just about being young but as we get older why should we not look out best ?
it's not so much that we care what society says about us but what we say about ourselves and I think that you should have a nice haircut and not walking around with your hair gray ,white or dyed, all dried out stringy looking hair. When we younger we would do our eye makeup and want our hair to look nice and wear nice clothes so why can't we feel that same way as women as we go throughout our lives? Why do we just give up and look like bums?
You should keep your skin in the best condition possible etc.
Love on you and age healthy.
    Love Cece

Absolutely loved and agreed with all of your tips, especially the ones involving our health! The one tip I can put out there in line with good health, is keeping our weight in check. I weigh less than I did 23 years ago. It didn’t happen overnight unfortunately. I’m over 60 and am amazed at the people my age that are unhealthy overweight. It does age a woman. Playing tennis, swimming even simply walking 15 minutes a day, can do wonders! Eyebrows are so important to the youthful look of your face, that and a good skincare routine! Stay away from harsh, dark reddish lipsticks as well.

The l'Oreal BB cream is a miracle in a bottle. It really should be a lot more expensive, but don't tell that to anyone. It does come out of the bottle green, and I think that helps hide red undertones. I put it on my nose, cheeks, and chin. It is a thin liquid that can be built up and blended easily. It always comes out perfect. Zero skills or tools required.

Regarding eyeglasses- the people who carry off a dramatic look can pull off glasses that are a darker value than their hair. But the rest of us (majority) look better in glasses that are close in value (value is not same as color) of our hair. Think how hard a darker eyeliner makes an older woman look. Same principle. BTW-thank you for your help!

This was really good. I have been a compulsive Sunglass wearer since I was a teenager and another big benefit is no wrinkles around the eyes. My theory for this is that they stop you from squinting. I have seen people in their 30s with deep crows feet and I am 60 and have none. I put that down to wearing the darkest sunglasses on the market because I have always been very light sensitive.

Thanks for the recommendation for eyebrow pencil. Since I can't seem to get one anymore from Bare Minerals, I need to find something. I started to do eyeliner about a year ago and love Urban Decay's Mildew and Smog which look great with my green eyes. I did Lancome in my early 20s and switched to Mary Kay which I did love so much that I signed up to sell it but then I saw how they treated my upline after her mother died....and then the way my new upline treated me when she forced a visit (I had a baby and the house wasn't super clean and tried to meet her somewhere else) and so I walked away and into Bare Minerals which I loved. But they're driving me insane these days. And I think the biggest thing is attitude. Act like you're full of life and no one will care about your age or weight. Keep up the amazing videos. It's fun to take a water break with you.
