When this movie first came out I was only a year old! I didn’t see it fully until I was fourteen. I love this scene! This movie made me fall in love with disco music! John Travolta was superb in this role and the music was on point!

I went to a salsa dance studio in Brooklyn in October when I was visiting New York. Rather than have a salsa lesson before the social, they had a hustle lesson. They specifically mentioned this scene from the movie--one that I love--and proceeded to teach us the first 20 seconds of this dance. The leads were also encouraged to add in their own moves just like when Travolta says, "Follow me this time." We finished our practice to "You're a Native New Yorker" ua-cam.com/video/1TbJz_5D3s4/v-deo.html.
