That is the exact same starter used on my Maserati Gran Tourismo- the Maserati is a lot more difficult to change. Mounted down low, you collect a lot of corrosion- on my car the brushes were totally seized and would only occasionally contact the armature requiring the same hammer repair - also the solenoid contacts will wear down and you get an intermittent contact. Fortunately the starter and solenoid unit are standard Denso units used in a lot of cars and individual repair parts like the contacts and brush assembly are available at low prices.

Good luck with USPS. In early December, my cousin ordered something from a place in Florida. The item was shipped to a USPS facility in Cincinnati, OH. (He lives within a 100 mile radius of there.) The item was then shipped to the USPS facility in the city he lives in. This took a total of 3 days. The package was never sent out for delivery, sat there for 3 days and was then shipped back to Florida where it sat for 7 days. It was then shipped back to Cincinnati where it sat for another 7 days. It has now been sent back to Florida where it's been sitting since early January. He can't get ahold of anyone to find out what's going on.
Our US Postal Service is in some kind of melt down, so good luck waiting for your parts. Case in point: I ordered a book from ebay mid November. It arrived from Michigan at the Jersey City USPS distribution center in Northern NJ. From there, it sat for days, then was shipped to the USPS distrib center 10 miles away from me in South Jersey. There it sat for another week. Then it was sent back to Jersey City, sat for a bit, then sent back to the local distrib center, where it was then sent off again to Jersey City one more time. Then sent back to local distrib center. Overall, took a month and a half to get something normally recieved in a week's time. All of this observed by yours truly via Ebay tracking. Example #2: Got late notice of a bill (with attached late fee penalty); so they are also screwing up the first class mail system here as well as I sent that bill payment on time, as I always do. Good luck, but you'll be in for a long wait.
Love how the Testarossa is basically a work bench and just gets crap sprayed all over it. :-) Doing the best with the space you have though which is great. Thanks for the videos.
You need to use a proper international courier company when shipping from the USA - UPS or DHL. They have proper track and trace. USPS is just for intra-USA local shipments.
Love you channel and your cars. if the starter motor fails again it could be the starter contacts, when you showed the solenoid side of the starter the contacts looked worn. most denso starter motors offer them as a separate replacement. keep up the great work and you offer great covid company :)
Btw, those ECU’s look exactly the same as a Fiat Stilo Abarth and Alfa 916 GTV’s. They all suffer the same issue; heat cycling cause all sorts of issues. My stilo used to die when hot with all sorts of scrambling error codes and no communication through the OBD port. I sent it to ECU testing and they were brilliant. Check them out Scott, they’re the biggest in this field now as they’ve invested in the technology.
USPS is a nightmare sometimes, they handle all the mail in the US and lot of packages as well. It is possible to get ahold of an individual using the 800 number for customer service in the USA. However, I don't know if this has changed since the pandemic. Now, one thing to consider is USPS doesn't operate within other countries, basically they get the package to the plane, boat etc then use third parties to handle the delivery once it arrives in the destination country. If there is an issue in the receiving country (such as the third party carrier refusing the package for whatever reason) it is possible that the package could be shipped back to the original USPS shipping hub where the package left from. Dealing with USPS can be a bit of a mess sometimes but for the most part here in the states they do a very good job.

Middle America good ole boy here. I admire this fellow for displacing some of the myths of Ferrari maintenance. He could use a workbench though.
Very insightful. Impressed how how Ratarossa does't mess around and gets stuck in.
Great vid. Not 100% if it’s a good idea or not but I’d be tempted to stick some dielectric grease around the solenoid stop it from oxidising again
Liked the bench. Few people may use a Boxer as a workbench!
Interesting. I would have said "dead battery." I've never seen someone whack the starter and have it actually work! Good engineering, putting it where all the road dirt and grime can get to it. Good job, Enzo!
I really love your workbench.
You're what I call a real mechanical passionnate.
Love the channel.
You could do with using some ear plugs with that impact wrench so close to your head though. Tinnitus is no joke!
Love your videos - I keep checking back for the next update. Can't wait :D
Love how the Testarossa is basically a work bench and just gets crap sprayed all over it. :-) Doing the best with the space you have though which is great. Thanks for the videos.
That's the 1st time i seen a farrari use as a work bench 🤭🤭 well done 👍 🏴
I love that your workbench is a Testarossa!
Our USPS system is very flawed and slow here..... Everything is late...... We all feel your pain.
previous F355: I owned one, maintenance higher, but lots more fun (sound, manual gearbox and more)
Btw, those ECU’s look exactly the same as a Fiat Stilo Abarth and Alfa 916 GTV’s.
Always feared exotica because of their "complexity". Seeing you able to do a lot of the maintenance done on your driveway with ordinary tools that most of us have, the fear is subsiding.
How is the pickup truck? Loved that series of videos, as as complicated as the Ferrari's😊😊
I think I love this car more than the BBi. I been following this channel since the beginning. Keep it up Scott!
