Like everyone here, I come from the home screen of Space Haven and gets mesmerize by how good the home screen music is so now am here in UA-cam playing it while relaxing in my chair, Cheers Paul for making a Music that is relaxing to hear.

I nearly started to cry, when I listened to the intro song. I totally agree with Ty Bradford.
I've played almost every video game of significance released since 1992, starting with Ultima VII when I was 13 years old. Currently sitting at about more than a thousand games combined between my shelves, Steam library and various other digital storefronts, I've just launched Space Haven for the very first time and have yet to play a minute of it because I am still stuck in the main menu. Instead I am here and I have to say this: Across more than a thousand video games, this is the single most outstanding soundtrack to any video game ever made. Thank you.

I was about the same age and gaming has been a big part of my life. This is the first time I have ever looked up a song after hearing it in the game. Usually, I mute the music in games. But not Space Haven, I turned it up. I also sit at the main menu for a while before playing, every single time.

Listening to a game soundtrack without playing the game is usually a slightly more hollow experience.
Yet when I sat down, put on this soundtrack, tuned out the world, and for nearly an hour just listened and relaxed.. I caught myself getting goosebumps and smiling as To The Moon rounded off an excellent journey of music.
Choosing to start the album with the short version of To The Moon, and ending it on the full version is nothing short of brilliant.

I thought opening the game with lyrics was a bold move. It really paid off, because it set the tone that I left my home and someone I love behind. Made me really feel for the crew members on the ship. Wonderfully done

With a lot of the comments here. I bought this game for a friend, they launched it, I heard the opening theme and immediately needed to get it for the soundtrack alone. That first song was just.... something to behold. Thank you for the great work!

Space Haven and FTL have the best soundtracks. I like to play them as background when we play Twilight Imperium Four as well. Great stuff!

I just picked up Space Haven a few days ago; In those few days I've put in probably a full work week of time into the game. I usually keep music at low levels so I can focus on more important sounds, but in games like this I usually keep it a little more to mid level. I think this is the first game where I have the music set as high, or a little higher than other game sounds. This soundtrack is absolutely marvelous, and I'm writing this while preparing to lay down and let your work ease me into sleep. Thank you for this incredible soundtrack, it's no exaggeration to call it at least a minor masterpiece. Next time I pick up a bottle, I'll be drinking to your health and good fortune.

Such a good sound track
Wow. That prologue is haunting. Have you ever thought of extending it into a full track? To The Moon has quite a different feel to it IMO, and the prologue is begging to become an electronic dance hit or something like that.
Haven't thought about it before, but it's interesting that quite a few people like that version so much, we'll have to see :)

Honestly this is truly fantastic. The sound design, the composition, every little sound effect in the background. All of it adds together to create an extremely immersive soundtrack that breathes the idea of space and loneliness, but somehow also evokes serenity and hope. Thank you Paul for this masterpiece, really looking forward to whatever you come up with next

It's great soundtrack. Atmospheric and very reminiscent of Blade Runner at times.
I didn't especially enjoy the game, but the silver lining is that I got the version with the soundtrack.

when I first opened this game I was so stunned by the soundtrack, I would often find myself pausing the game and just... sitting with the music. Not because the game wasn't fun- heck I'm addicted to it! but the soundtrack is simply so good that I would often just take a moment to really enjoy it. Now I find myself listening to it on repeat in the background as I work on uni assignments! :D

Randomly found this soundtrack and it's amazing! Have similar vibe as GRID 2019's soundtrack, which I love: dreamy, light, and hopeful. The kind of music I can chill with all days!

I remember seeing Space Haven Gameplay and thinking "Well, that seems like a nice game Maybe I should try it" and then I heard this absolutely inmmersive and gorgeous intro theme and thats when I completely fell in love with it, Paul you truly achieved this nostalgic yet beautiful ethereal music and then here comes Scalefin with a voice that just perfectly fits and creates something incredible.

The main menu song fits so nicely to the theme... Completely sci fi and bang on for a game like this in my own opinion. Great work putting this together too! its perfect for some quiet work in the background :) Liked!

Yeah got the game yesterday (and the soundtrack) even more broke now but worth it, and been watching Solid's vids (I'm UK so his live stuff is often can be a bit late for me) and the great interviews he has done with you and Developer. Hoping to start a stream later today on my twitch channel (it's small but the vibe, music and game really hits the mark from what I've seen) I prob die of lack of resources and pirates but hey, we need a stylish sad death music theme next now lol. Wish me luck on my voyage :)

Does anyone know what instrument is being played at the song, gravity? It sounds like a saxophone, but it's so nostalgic, like a song I heard from my youth. If anyone know such a song, you'd have my most heartfelt thanks.
It's indeed a saxophone! I was inspired by the original Blade Runner soundtrack that also uses one on the track "Love Theme", check it out - maybe that's the track you were thinking of! :)
@@PaulZimmermann It had a more congruous permanence, closer to how "gravity" felt. Most Saxophone we're used to hearing are either high short bursts, or slow methodical deep wheezes. What I heard when I was young, on a radio in a cab heading to the city while the sun was slowly setting to night across a deepening skylight bridge was this fever dream of a saxophone, high pitch, yet slow and lengthy. It made me feel the intensiveness and hope of the city for the first time, albeit with a tinge of sadness, desperation, and loneliness that waded through transition from stars to incandescence. I apologize if I'm being too expressive; there has ever only been two songs that's made me so maudlin in life.
If I had to be more concise, it would be how "gravity" makes me feel, addled with the desperation and intensity of say, the saxophone of "Baker Street."
