Absolutely wonderful, built for cruising and comfort. Unlike modern cars just built for speed with a hard ride. Although this was a fast car for it's time. 1974 I gave my neighbour Mr Crawte a packet of Woodbine cigarettes for his car as I was learning to drive. Unfortunately it was the Zephyr MK11 version not the Zodiac. Another car I gave a Packet of cigarettes for in 1982 was for a Vauxhall Victor series 11 estate. Speedometer dates about 1957 to 1958. My Dad had a 57 Consul with the same instrument cluster. His 1960 Zephyr had a cluster with a flat top to the Speedometer. Lovely looking Zephyr with loads of life still.
Could you imagine a top of the range model with wind up windows, no power steering, 3 speed gearbox, no headrests, plain glass, no fitted audio system etc.. and yet, the car oozes style. It is also a reminder of when the British motor industry was in rude health.

If I rememberer correctly it may have been the first Ford with a £1,000.00 price tag.
