This is why he's irresistible. The way he talks to you afterwards is the strongest acknowledgment, compared to the others, that he wants more and isn't afraid to admit it.

@@katerinasmirnov9091 I don't know about Anders 2.0. Anders was a crazy mofo blowing up churches! Gale is definitely a different sort of romance, he has a really dry sense of humor, sometimes punny, but he can be really romantic. I did a video on his romance too if you wanna see it. I actually don't mind him, but I don't like the whole Mystra angle, at least as it stands now. Makes me feel way too much like a back burner type fling.
@Scheiße my soul is too bruised for another squishy wounded magical boy. I give him all the credits though, he's kinda sweet and romantic. But all this story with Mystra... HUGE red flag. It's the worst feeling when bf is comparing you to some other chick, that's just awful you feel like poop. And here this chick is a goddess no less! Nope, give me kinky elfy vampire drama queen. It's still less complicated 😅
astarion is so smooth it's not fair to the other companions. he actually reminds me of zevran because of how smooth he is and using sarcasm and jokes to cover up his pain and insecurities. i really want to be a vampire too lol. it wouldn't surprise me if cazador found out that astarion cares about someone and uses that to his advantage. the potential for angst is too great. anyway love your videos sister.
Oh, I know right? I feel like Cazzador is going to be a big stick in the wheel of Astarion's relationship with the PC... ESPECIALLY when we get to Baldur's Gate! Because Astarion says he never leaves the city, but would send lackeys out to do his dirty work. But once you're in his home town, I can just imagine the crazy things that will happen. I just hope whatever bad stuff goes down, that you can escape with Astarion in tact. Thanks a lot for the love too - I enjoy talking about the game! :D
Ohhh don't compare him to Zevran! I already am so disappointed in myself for how easily I've fallen to Asterion's charm, and Zevran is my favorite romance in any game ever. How am I ever going to play a good PC in BG3 now?!

@@Mmogurl Huh. Weird, I never wanted to take Zevran's romance to its conclusion. Does it get better, or is it 'just not for me' thing? o_O
I feel like his flirty and charming attitude is just a part of his vampire talents. Which makes it difficult to tell, especially in the beginning, how much of it is genuine. So although I like the flirty parts a lot it’s the more serious lines, that feel sometimes more rewarding because you actually have to work that persuasion checks in order to get him to open up. Asking about his scars after the night of passion might seem a bit invasive but also would come up rather naturally as you would surely notice them at some point. He doesn’t seem to mind you asking about them. He only gets defensive if you choose to push the subject further for which he’s not ready yet. I think that he appreciates you being interested in getting to know him, just as long you do it little by little at the time.
I actually talked about this with someone else since he mentions that he has "other quirks" as well that you'll find out in time. I did wonder since a lot of time vampires do have mind control, but in 5e they don't. True vampires have Charm, which would count, but spawns don't. I didn't read too much into it because of this, I think he's just charming. xD
@@Mmogurl Oh, he’s definitely charming but there’s just another layer to it. Being charming is most likely what made hunting for “dinner “ for Cazador easier so I would think it became a second nature to him. This is how he talks all the time, this silky undertone luring you closer. The good example is the starry night dialog. It seemed to me that he was flirting but we know now from the files that he was just hungry 😋 That’s what I meant with that he uses it more as a skill then as a genuine interaction. At least in some cases 😉
I agree. The banter and later on flirting is fun. But the genuine conversations with vulnerability and room for growth, makes Astarion a real person to me.
I’ve found something else I greatly appreciate with him, which is his respect of consent. If you tell him no, he tends to accept it. Something very unlike these flirtatious characters (looking at Zeveran in dragon age, who I turned down at every opportunity but he just wouldn’t stop -_-)
Later on that also ties into Astarions character. Since he was once a slave and wants freedom above all else. Which makes him also want freedom for others. Or at least you.
I think that’s why I fell for Astarion honestly... Because somehow, he made me feel safe. The banter, the flirting, the romancing... it would stop at any moment if you asked him too. It’s simply a safe environment to be... free.

I doubt that wanting to see the MC happy would be very in character for him, but may be in the end it would have been nice. I guess what you are describing is something that can be expected from Wyll or maybe Gale. I would rather expect Astarion to get bitter and possessive at best:D Telling us he loves us would be amazing however it would make sense somewhere near the end,.

The new patch actually has you in the forest with him, so no more snoring or nosy companions. And the song down, down, down by the river with the wailing ladies sing is just beautiful.
Oh nice! I'll have to get a new one then. As is I'm working through the 'evil game' right now and there's actually new dialogue at the camp scene too.

I acctually got a slightly different option 2. in "under construction" dialog. In stead of "bare your neck, inviting him" I got "Push him to the ground, inviting him to unleash the animal"...the rest of the dialog seems the same so i wonder, is this due to the patch as well? Anyone else got a different option there?

@@liithium7377 Yeah, I was just reloading an old save to see what they changed and saw that unleash the animal bit. I was hoping they added in more of the scene though since I just saw Minthara's romance and there was quite the bit of nudity in it. No luck :(

I was shock to find out you only were Interested in Alistair when astarian gives major zevran and dorian vibes
It's not so much about who they remind me of, but the depth of the individual romance. One of the things I think the other romances lacked, was being involved with you in the story. In DAO, you and Alistair were the only grey wardens for miles.. and it falls on one of you to stop the archdemon. You're together from the beginning, fighting for the same thing, it's definitely a bonding experience. On top of that, I really appreciated his character. It felt like you were actually getting to know him. Zevran felt like a shallow romance by comparison.. It was alright, you know, but it never felt entirely serious the way it did with Alistair for me. Maybe that was just my bias since I went with A first? I adored Dorian to be fair, but it kind of killed me that I couldn't romance him first time through without mods. I totally would have, and even thought you could until he was like nope.. sorry I'm gay... but I like flirting. Felt kind of led on, but was like.. alright whatever. Astarion reminds me the most of Alistair because it is the only romance out of them all that has me completely smitten.. You're also both infected with the tadpoles, and in that sense you're more involved with the story as are all of the companions. The romance has the same feel of getting to know him for the better and feeling intimate. Just my opinion, everyone is entitled to their own!
@@Mmogurl lol, I always saw Alistair as the big brother I never had couldn't dream of romancing him, I see him more similar to dorian with the "parental issues" I feel that's gonna play a major role in the romance based on how the player handles the situation like what happened with dorian or more similar to zevran considering they are very open and honest about their wants while at the same time they dont like the character rushing important story like with zevran and his.... ex and astarion and his master, idk but I'm getting major vibes that when the full game releases that you might get brownie points for waiting and letting astarion tell you about his scars himself but well just have to wait and see what happens when the full thing comes out 😽
@@Mmogurl This is so spot on on what I felt about Alistair. First comrades in arms. Then friends. Only then something more. He was the character that was on the journey with you from the the very beginning. This makes me optimistic for this romance.
@@Mmogurl I recently played through DAO again and chose Zevran over Alistair (for the first time) and the end slides were quite cool. Apparently my Grey Warden decided to go to Antiva with Zevran and kill the Queen or something? Basically taking down a nation for Zevran, pretty funny :D
@@Mmogurl In terms of depth of relationship I think Solas is the winner. Granted we all wanted to punch him very hard but I also felt his pain while playing that last scene in Tresspasser. I could definitely see myself still loving him despite what he did if I were the inquisitor. I loved Alistair but for me Solas is a whole other level.

Right? Like it's kind of not cool, but it's cool, whatever. LOL. Odds are, he'd probably be a pretty good master since he had to deal with being tortured for 200 years. He'd be like.. yeah you can just do whatever. I was the same way with Alistair though in DAO - his romance was just so perfect and I loved his involvement in the story as well. It always felt wrong to have a playthrough and not romance him. Even on my games here when I'm actively trying to romance others.. I still always work on his approval and save the backup option! haha

And I'm sure he'll be a good master, actually I don't think that he would want to keep "Tav" as a thrall if he becomes a true vampire, I believe he genuinely likes her (well, in my case it's always her) and besides he is genuinely grateful for 'the gift', hehehe.
I hope we still wil be able to get a good ending with him if we actively use tadpole powers. I'll count it as a good ending if my pc and A. will not turn into some monsters and will stay together. It will be hearbreaking if we'll go through the whole game, and will continue the romance, only to some gruesome end because characters used their ilithid powers.

Hahaha - I'd say it's worth it right now in Early Access because there is so much to do, but I totally understand wanting the full game. I'm dying to know where it's going and want to see what more there will be not just with the story but the romances as well! So far, they've done such a good job!

So far I've just been kissed by Gale.. in the eye.. and that's not very romantic xD I'm hoping there will be a lot of options in terms of choices..and maybe the first time through you might stumble into a bad ending, but once you know what to do, you can get where you need to be. Very excited for more :D
I hope so. I bought the early access version after all, but had to ask for a refund because I couldn't play it, it was too buggy. I was gutted because I only made it as far as meeting shadowheart after the crash. But I still want to try it when the full release comes out, hopefully I'll have worked out how to play it by then.

I love him! I really hope there's a way to get a happy ending for this romance. I can see him becoming my new Zevran. I find it so hard to choose anyone but Zevran when I replay DA Origins, and I bet it's going to be the same with him. I guess I just have a thing for flirtatious, morally grey elves with a tragic backstory. And that voice! I can't wait for the full game to be released!

His constant "Yes, Darling?" and "Yes, Lover?" just had me swooning. I literally just can't with him. I have to come to UA-cam to see the other romances because I just cant romance anyone else. My husband laughs cause of course I fell for the vampire. He's pretty much the Garrus/Zevran of this game.
I feel like asking him about the scars is going to get you closer on a personal level to show that you care about him and not just about some good fun might play a part in future scenes but idk that's what I'd do if I'd wrote the story he comes in a few approvals later like dorian referencing the scars in further detail and opening up on how truly horrible his master was
Ok along with this dude I just love the funny subtle facial expressions the player character gives in response to each line, it really adds a lot to these scenes. I don’t see a lot of games doing that unless the player has spoken dialogue, so it’s just really refreshing to see.
Astarion's voice really is enough to make anyone swoon xD

You should get the game and say Hi to him. I warn you he sulks a little bit at first, but when he warms up to you, he's divine!
'...it's probably worth saving beforehand...' bold of you to assume I don't save before every interaction with Astarion. The real question here is whether I'm ready to lose on killing the goblin leaders progress to get that star gazing scene...
The star gazing scene is weird.. it doesn't seem to have to do with the goblins at all. It seems it happens on the 2nd night..if you're still at neutral, but have been getting a lot of approval from him. Once you hit medium, it doesn't seem to trigger. My last game I missed it completely because I did a lot before going back to camp. I haven't 100% ironed it out yet, but I can say both times I got it to trigger, I hadn't done much, if any, of the main story yet. GL! Also - I hit f5 like it's going out of style. ^_^
@@Mmogurl ugh I literally started a new playthrough just to romance Astarion, and it’s kinda frustrating that there is no reliable way to trigger all the scenes. I’m going to camp all the damn time now!
I thought that because he speaks of going to find the crach this seen may trigger if you pick up Laizel and start this quest. However, if you finish with the goblin camp the dude you need to talk to will leave Druids’ grove, so, that’s why I want to try a reload...
I also can’t figure out what triggers different reactions when you let a Loviathar priest whip you - in my playthrough Astarion only commented on me ‘having so much blood’ and Shadowheart commented that he shouldn’t lick his lips, but I saw a video where he doesn’t say that, but instead comments on the whipping itself. Does it happen if you don’t know that he’s a vampire? Or depends on approval?
Or why I can’t read his thought after the bad dream scene despite using a scroll... It’s all to confusing for my gentle heart.
@@alinazhidil9817 Apparently the stargaze scene triggers after you get the information about the gyth from Zorru in the druid grove , not sure if Astarion needs to be in the party with you when you interrogate the thiefling tho.Also for the Loviathar scene it seems that Shadowheart has dialogue riority , you should try swapping companions for that scene :)
@@rramona88 it must happen somewhat early in the playthrough tho - I tried triggering it after doing quite a bit of progress, and nothing happened
i romanced shadowheart so far (planning to do another playthrough for astarion) and i was disappointed that shadowheart said she regretted it too. i wanted to make sure i wasn't coming on too strong so i redid the romance scene to let her initiate the kiss. however, she said she still regretted it. i think shadowheart is going to be a morrigan who starts out as an ice queen but becomes more sentimental over the course of the game. she approves and says it's sweet when the PC remembers little things about her such as she likes night orchids and can't swim. i think she feels guilty that she enjoyed having an intimate moment with the PC because she's been taught not to do anything that distracts from shar.
i saw a theory that shar may be the absolute. if that's true, shadowheart would have to reevaluate a lot of things in her life. shadowheart still has memories that she can't remember because she gave them up to shar. i've seen lots of theories like her memories are her time spent as a cleric of selune or her memories are the tough times she had during childhood (since she has the urchin tag). she has a dream about having complete power over her enemies. it seems to me she wants power because she's been powerless for most of her life (urchin tag). however, she disapproves of using the tadpole after that dream so it's possible the romance path will end happily.
i think she is trying to come across as a strong practical cleric but she is secretly a regular girl who desires having a connection with another person after being in an environment where secrecy is the norm. gale mentions it seems she is on the brink of blooming into a nightshade or a rose so maybe the PC will be able to determine where her story goes.
I think this will be true for all companions but from what I've seen so far with Shadowheart and Astarion, it's showing quite early on. There is defenitly a hint that their personality and attitude will change depending on your actions. I was quite shocked when I watched Astarion's romance scene if you side with Goblins.The romance lines are seemingly the same but his tone, the way he delivers the lines changes completly! He sounds manipulative and cynical. He's down right angry if you make him say "please". It was kind of scary actually.
Yeah, I haven't done the Shadowheart romance at all.. except one time I got the option to say something and she said she'd tire me out. She keeps just leaving my party though. 2/3 games so far she just disappears! I usually prefer Lae'zel over her, and they disagree on everything..so it's hard to keep them all happy. I could definitely see the Morrigan angle though..apparently there is a lot of dialogue with her if you bring her into the moon temple under the goblin camp.. I barely ever use her in my party though. Might have to drag her around some.

You should see how much better they look in patch 3. Lighting was added and they seemed to tweak many of the expressions.
I haven't played the game, but Astarion alone wants me to get it so bad. He seems so amazing!

I can't resist Astarion's smoothness. It feels kinda bad that he treats you with such distate earlier in the game, but getting on his good side feels amazing later on

When I first played the game, I thought Astarion was such a sullen jerk.. always being like "What do you want? "You're staring at me again.." After seeing the rest of his story though, I find it kind of funny now. I'm like awww, cute futsy Astarion xD

I think I mentioned this in one of your other vids but if you're a tiefling and know about his scars already from his nightmare he had previously, you get another interesting response from him. You can ask him about his scars and he doesn't get offended. You can ask him why it's written in Infernal - saying that normally that's devil's tongue. He seems shocked to find out what language it is and considers the conversation 'pillow talk'. I liked the tiefling ending a little better than him asking me to not tell the others about our 'tryst'. Seems to bring the two of you a little closer, even if it's only in my tiefling's head lol. Another sidenote, if you share a moment in the weave with Gale and later choose to spend the night with Astarion - Gale asks to sleep with you *the night after* you sleep with Astarion, when he normally tells you about his condition. I was shocked. You can choose to sleep with Gale or tell him that you won't betray Astarion. There are so many layers that I didn't anticipate with this romance thing in this game. I was so impressed. (Naturally I would never betray my boy, don't need a bite I didn't ask for ;) )

It's funny, my first game with my tiefling, I liked Gale a lot at first, and then once Astarion stopped being sullen with me after the bite, I was like.. hey he's really cool and I like him. So that first night was really hard to choose.. To find out.. I could have had BOTH! I might need to do a video for that because I still have my saves LOL Thanks for the info! I know what you mean though. I was like that with Alistair in DAO - like I'd check out the other romances, but when they came to me saying make a choice - i'd be like OK! I do the same with Asta.. might see their scene, but reload and pick Asta again xD
He’s basically Solas from Dragon Age 3 with hair and sharp teeth: kind of hard to get along with, smooth as silk, only Astairon won’t leave you broken hearted and without an arm

I agree. I'm starting to really like Wyll too, but I'm having so much trouble getting his romance to trigger. I have seen so many more of his scenes this last playthrough tho. I feel kind of bad for the guys honestly.. SH and Lae'zel are kind of mean o_o

There's a LOT there to play now, especially for an early access. I've played 150 hours so far, but I'm kind of obsessed haha. Absolutely love games like this and there is a lot of variation in how the game will play out based on your choices.

I've played for so much already and you can only get to level 4 right now! Can't make some people happy, but I'm really happy and I'm not that easy to please in what I want from games. So, imo at least, they're doing something really right.
I'm sticking to my guns here and flat out refuse to play until a completed release is public. Mind you in the meantime I've probably watched every single full playthrough of early access' act 1 of BG3 i've been able to locate on UA-cam. Mmogurl is 100% in saying there's a ton of content already. The amount of difference in which nearly EVERY interaction of quest or any ability for the player to make choices within the game even in just this early access of only the very first act of this game has had every play I've seen add a crap ton of alternate story choices or outcomes that vary insanely wide from any other play through. This game has given expectations for its final version a mighty high bar to get across. But I'll be getting a ladder if need to in order to stride that bar for my own eventual play.

If you tell him you only want a night of fun, and don't 'nod' at him when he asks you if you want to lose yourself in him, he gets really disappointed. He responds with 'Fine. Then let's have fun.' With a blank look on his face and a snarky tone. Gives the impression that he actually does care. And I'm very glad.
Another thing too. During the scene where you find out he's a vampire he literally pleads he isn't a monster and tells your character that you can trust him. Or when he express his feelings about the group going their separate ways after the tadpole is gone. How he lowkey likes traveling with you. Overall I think Larian studio s his going to give us an epic Astarion romance... We just got to be willing to work for our pale little elf..💕💕💕

I have never been so in love with a fictional character before. I mean it never happens for me, I didn't faun over Harry Potter, Edward Cullen, Captain America, Dean Winchester, Lucifer, etc. But Astarion, I can't seem to keep my eyes off him, I just love how they created him and his voice is sexy incarnate.

In FR, Vampire Spawn can't make further spawn. They only make.. uhh, monsters. You'd need a full-on vampire, though that comes with it's own set of issues.
Also I didn't get the mistake line with Shadowheart, interesting.
Shadowheart is the first NPC in a long time I have carried about. Have done a lot of Save Scumming to keep her happy, so I can relate. LOL

Usually I enjoy playing games like this over and over exploring the different relationships and characters. I've done about 6 runs and every time I keep ending up with the under construction sign as I sneak away with Astarion smh

It's exactly how I felt about Solas from DA Inquistion. I played Divinity Original Sin, went back and played the other DA games, tried 2 other RPGs I can't even remember the name of- Nothing! No swooning.

I had to look this guy up - I had NO idea they even had him in Skyrim. It's amazing how big that game was.. I played and played and played - 185 hours worth and I still didn't see probably close to the whole game. I got with the werewolf dude in mine thi - I don't remember if he was actually a werewolf or just hunted them and got bit and you had to do a quest to cure him or whatever. Man, it's killing me I can't even find him... He had dark hair though.. And now I'm really wanting to play this game again because holy crap there are SOOOO MANY ROMANCE OPTIONS! And I want to check out this Fennorian guy :O
