Ukraine: Extensive Damage in Bakhmut Over One Year of War

- New satellite images released on Wednesday are giving a clear impression of the extent of the devastation in much of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut.
The before and after images - taken on 8 May 2022 and 15 May 2023 - show widespread destruction of infrastructure, apartment blocks and iconic buildings.
Fighting has been particularly fierce in recent weeks around the eastern city, scene of the war's longest and bloodiest battle.
Ukrainian forces have recently clawed back more territory from Russian forces and a major Ukrainian counteroffensive is expected in coming weeks.

Most of these battalions have suffered more than 70% casualties just against PMC Wagner.
Ukrainian casualties is 1/5 of Russian casualties. That list makes no sense.
Bakhmut results:
1. 6.5 thousand foreign mercenaries of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed.
2. 10 thousand units of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.
3. 35 thousand units of weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were taken as trophies.
4. More than 50 aircraft and helicopters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.
5. 55,000 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed.
6. 85 thousand soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were wounded.
7. Such a large percentage of the dead was due to the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were almost surrounded and did not have time to take out the wounded.
8. PMC Wagner has also losses, but several times less.
9. 10 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were completely destroyed and deprived of combat capability.
10. 21 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated and withdrawn to the rear for reorganization.
11. All these brigades were preparing for the offensive but instead of an offensive, they were defeated in Bakhmut.

@@albinvega7008 In the space of less the n 18 months, the Wagner Group (with Russian Mil. support), has destroyed one of the best-equipped NATO - designed forces in Europe, not once, but three times. The reason for so little Russian main forces involvement is that they know the US will continue to escalate, and it's only a matter of time before we see "real" (rather than covert) NATO troops in Ukraine. I wonder how long the "Alliance" will last after Russia flattens them?
