I play this album to help relax and calm down. I've listened to it when nervous about taking off on a plane and before job interviews. I listen to it before bed. It is such a gift. Thank you, Andrew Bird! ♥️
I went in this canyon 20 years ago as a 10 year old. One of the most incredible awe inspiring experiences of my life. One of my favorite artists playing in that place, to me, perfect.
uh oh. thanks for the information. i've been reading lot of descriptions of hikes in that area - many other hikes say you have to wade thru water. i've read several descriptions of this hike - and none of them mention hiking thru water (except one alludes to walking thru water because he got caught out there after dark). does the water get deep? thanks again
thanks again for your advice. we spent $13 bucks on neoprene socks and they saved the day. it got down to 20 degrees at night but the cold chased the crowds away. we were the only 2 people camping beneath the arch and we only saw one other couple the entire time in the gulch. it was a fantastic trip
I love to go backpacking there (going tomorrow morning, actually!) and every time I walk through I imagine him playing. It's tradition to listen to the album as I go through, now.
This reminds me of Paul Horn's work. It's similar in concept at least (go to a great place like the Taj Mahal, and use the space as an instrument and basis for composition). Stoked to hear the rest! Coming Soon for Echolocations: CITY LAKE FOREST RIVER
This was part of one of the best National Monuments in the country, the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, where the locals would prefer to graze cows and drill for oil and loot ancient artifacts than play host to artists and musicians. Donald J. Trump conman and real estate sleazeball in his infinite wisdom decided this doesn't deserve to be a national monument after all. Good on Mr. Bird for taking music outdoors, and finding new value in a de-valued landscape.
Is, not was. And as for what its precise legal status and the grazing rules should be, opinion among locals may remain divided, but insult-first persons like yourself are not consulted. CS
Andrew Bird is a gift to humanity.
Gorgeous background for some amazing music
I love Andrew Bird ❤
This is a gem, glad I found it. I'm very surprised more haven't seen it.
Andrew is absolutely brilliant.

You walk through water, almost the entire hike.

Water is never too deep. Take Neo socks and it will still be enjoyable. I'd def go in the off season.

Oh, to be that camera man.
Taylor Hutchison Best seat in the house. Saw this last year. First time I saw this made me cry :)
Well, if this where I think it is, it was a day's work at least to get there. Bird and he worked for this one...
natural reverb :)

Incredible sounds and concept but this video lacked heavily in cinematography and geographical appreciation.
