I was stationed on Camp Foster from 96-99 .I went every Fri, Sat night. One spot was in front of Kadenna . The other spot for drifting and drag were towards Naha. There was a block in a warehouse section that they use to drift on. So many cars ! So much fun and good memories. The police would show up sometimes but its was not like the US. They just came around with lights on and everybody left. I would race my 85 Skyline Gtst but was much slower than the others cars. They would race two cars next to each other with 3 or 4 rows all going at once. I was in the back . lol. I was a Motorcycle MP for the Marine Corps there. Best job of my life !! 95 Fz 750. Semper Fi and I love the people of Okinawa ! Manhattans was the club we always went to. Thanks for this documentary ! Oh yea and the best looking Girls !!!

Man, this is my dream, I hope by some lucky chance that I get to experience this at least once in my life. The 'car scene' where I live is weak, especially compared to this. Everyone is in Golfs (mk3) and Opel Astras. Nothing cool at all.
Notice its mostly older cats keeping the racing alive , kids these days dont have the money in japan to put into cars , i read an article that said their were 5300 racing tribes in the country in 1980 compared to 119 now
these things should be regulated. they're fun but dangerous. maybe the city government should close down certain remote sections of the city to let them race. it'll be a win win situation
