you should look up an American named Audie Murphy; "Lieutenant Audie Murphy was the most highly decorated soldier in American history." he went from warrior to actor.
Actually the record was most decorated for combat action. It was not branch specific or war specific. There are several, that if you count all of their various and sundry non combat related decorations including unit decorations, wear a lot more than what he had.
The Reason Jake didn't get any blisters from his ruck march was because he grew up running around without shoes as a kid. He had calluses on his feet that would make Fred Flintstone envious.
I'm a military veteran I was born in '77 and I was a '80s kid and you're exactly correct I have so much calluses on my feet I can run on Rock Streets and not even hurt them and that's what he did he had all the calluses from barefoot just like I was as a kid in the '80s
@@Majorpain32677 People don't get that you're actually stewing your feet and making them softer when you wear shoes all the time . I used to run around barefoot on oiled roads. I'm pretty sure I killed the nerves on the bottoms of my feet after doing it for so many years. I'm 58 years old I still hate shoes but if I am going to wear them they better look good and they will be boots.😂😂
My grandfather was in Okinawa and he had a deal with the guys who transported the supplies up to the field hospital to “accidentally” drop a 5 gallon jug of pure grain alcohol off the truck on the way there and him and a couple buddies would cut it down with grapefruit juice so they could drink it. 😂
This man was the epitome of what being an American means, along with being superhuman😂. Fat Electrician is a great person to watch if you want to learn about American History the fun way. Love your videos man🫡, from the 804.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr McNiece a few years back. He is the perfect example of American exceptionalism. He was the most normal, laid back seeming guy you would ever meet, but when placed in a tough spot he excelled. You see everyday super heros in any culture, but in the American military it is common. We have so many stories just like this, you could fill an encyclopedia with Medal of Honor stories.

I was waiting for you to do this video for a long time just for the fact I got to meet him when I was a kid in the 1980's. The relatives I was temporarily staying with apparently knew his family. But he was a character. And when he told stories of the old days he always got this grin on his face that was just priceless.
Nic brought up that there were people who commented who were actually delivered mail by Jake. The general consensus was nobody had any idea that the friendly old man was just incredibly badass.
The reason they didn't know about the movie is because it wasn't made until 1967, just a bit after WW2 and Korea and most of Vietnam. Nick definitely has some of the coolest stories anywhere. A few facts may not be completely correct but the stories are great.
There was a comment on nicks video of a guy that apparently lived in the area that jake worked for the postal service, and said as I was growing up he had no idea that his mailman was such a badass
Great reaction! I live in Ponca City and most people don't know anything about this guy. Its sad really because he truly is an American hero and should of been recognized a lot more.
Jake wasn’t crazy or unstable. He was what was called a rugged individualist,; focused, resourceful, strong willed, stubborn and tough. The type of person others would naturally look to for leadership.
There were two movies about the Thilthy 13: "The Dirty Dozen" and "Inglorious Bastards." Both movies actually downplayed the true story because Hollywood felt no one would believe all that happened on military records. As to Nick "The Fat Electrician" he has a lot of great UA-cam videos about American military members who should be remembered.
Wow! I loved watching that man's amazing story with you. Thank you Andre. You're my favorite UA-cam personality... Eric from Tennessee, living in Seattle.
Yes, look up Audie Murphy not only fid he recieve ever valor award given by the US in World War II. He also had to get his olfer sister to lie about his age begsuse he was too young. Two of my uncles were in the 101st Airborne in World War II. I love Jake, some of this story I had never heard. Thank You for sharing. Story is Amazing and am happy he married, had children and found God. Truly a HERO. This was a man with a spine and a lot of intestinal fortitude.
LMAO- @26:19 "is this Jake?" Nope, just a stock photo of a RUSSIAN soldier. BUT..... you asking is hilarious due to all the confusion over YOUR accent .
That's how we fished sometimes an M80 and we threw it in the water. Hours of fishing in 5 minutes. We were 9 , 10, and 11. We scared the crap out of people in 5 different houses. 😂😂 Goodtimes
Keep in mind that Jake and his family were living in The Depression and a lot of children had to go barefooted because their parents could not afford to buy their children shoes. AND Jake being part Choctaw Native American Indian we go barefoot more than wear shoes, even while hunting.
If you're coming to the United States next year, I would love to host you in Las Vegas. We have three guest rooms in our house. We also have Las Vegas which is a spectacle to see.
