I see no difference when I use my Internet cable. It still sucks. When a do a speed test is shows 5mb/sec but when Im updating a game the speed is only like 200kb/sec ☺🔫
If the direct connection to the modem is still slow then the problem should be either the modem or on the ISP side. At least you know the issue is not on your local area network and can let your ISP know of that!
If the video doesn't start to play and keeps buffering and spinning, please change the video quality from "Auto" to anything else, it should hopefully start to play. It looks like there is a bug in this video!! I asked UA-cam to fix it a couple of times but unfortunately it never got fixed! Sorry for any inconvenience! How ironic though that this very video should have this very problem :-)
Bam you helped me out with my modem today. Was actually losing/dropping calls on WiFi. I switched to my 5G and pinging 221 mbps down again. 2.4 was down as low as 7.48d 12 up
I had slow internet and connection problems - you know what it was - a bad phone line from wall to router - I had a long wire - had it for years just laid on floor - replaced it - now all is good - check your hardware people

Very interesting, so applied your knowledge to my network specifically to test and am confused perhaps you have 1 tidbit of information extra? 1x samsung galaxy s7 edge connects at 866mbps with mu-mimo disabled on asus AC5300 1x ac5300 router with all wireless radios diabled. except 1 5ghz radio. 1x gigabit connection established over lan to laptop. so essentially it is only 3 devices. 1 phone, 1 router and 1 laptop. Using Iperf3 on the phone reveals a speed of 250mbps. I have confirmed there is no other networks around with wifi analyser. I have also enabled mu-mimo which forces the phone to connect at 433mbps. when doing a Iperf3 still only gets 250mbps which seems more acceptable to 50% of 433mbps even a bit higher. but why is 866mbps still limited to roughly the same speed? Have you experienced the asus rt 5300. I feel dissappointed by its wifi strengh considering how much i paid for it and how weak its range is compared to small cheaper routers
When i run the speed test on my phone it says 100 mbps down and 10 mbps up, but when I download games on my ps4 its more like 1 mbps (not exaggerating) please help! Edit: I did the speed test on the ps4 and it said 1.5 mbps down, is there something wrong with my ps4??
How is the PS4 connected? Wireless or Wired? If it is wireless I would try wired and do the speed test again and if everything is OK then you know the issue is on the wireless network. As far as I remember the original PS4 only uses the 2.4 GHz band so then maybe the issue is on the 2.4 GHz band. New phones usually use 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.

You should do step by step troubleshooting to pinpoint the issue! Is the problem your network or ISP? If it Is yours, is it only happening on Wi-Fi or wired as well! If it is Wi-Fi , which band, which channel, maybe there is interference on one channel.... I would also use QOS to prioritize gaming over other data (if the router has the option)
Behfor thx for the fast answer. So, the only device which is having issues with wifi is my laptop. The phones have internet as always, no problems. There is a desktop PC with an ethernet cable, also working. My laptop didn't have such heavy issues with wifi the last 2 years tho. I always used wireless connection, so I actually don't understand why it is causing problems all of a sudden. So, I don't think the actual problem is the router or the internet itself, more like the laptop has issues receiving it. I also checked the drivers and Windows keeps telling me they're fine. Now I have reset the network. Let's see if it helps...

When you connect your computer directly to the modem, make sure you turn the modem off and on again, this will flush its mac address table and your computer should be able to connect to the internet. If you still get undesirable speed you should then contact your service provider! Thanks!

Hi if my connection speed is 100 mbps and i have 10 people connected to router via wireless. Will the 100 mbps be distributed to 10 people like 10 mbps per person or will they all get 100mbps .
The short answer is that Wireless is a shared medium and It would be distributed between the wireless clients. However it is more complicated than that! It's not like everyone should get exactly 10 Mbps! For example depending on what wireless technology the router or the clients support it could be different!
In this video the 2.4 GHz wireless network was the problem, mainly because of the interference in the environment. Switching to the 5 GHz network fixed the problem!

It takes me 2 days to download a phone. Takes me hours to look at stuff on computer. It takes a while for photos to load on computer and android because it loads from the top down and very slowly (about 10 minutes to see the whole photo) and my computer has a lot of space. My phone doesn't though. This is fast compared to mine.
That is indeed slow! A photo taking 10 minutes to load? How big of a photo? That is not normal something must be wrong somewhere! What kind and speed of Internet do you have?
You need to login to your wireless router and in the wireless settings change your channel if you need to! Each router is different so just google your router make and model along with "how to change the WiFi channel" !

If you are directly connected to the modem and you are sure your cable, modem & computer can handle 1000 Mbps but you are still getting 200 Mbps then you should talk to your ISP.

Your wireless router should be dual-band to support that, basically this is something you would do on the wireless router (if it is dual-band of course)!

VPN is the no1 speedkiller. I use one of the better services (NordVPN) and still, as soon as it is active, I loose >50% of downspeed and my ping time is 5 times as long. This especially sucks, if you run a fixed VPN on your Asus router, cause now every time you want your normal fast internet speed, you have to log into your router and click your way through to disable VPN....

That's not a good spreed! You need to do step by step troubleshooting to see where the problem is. The steps used in this video can be helpful

If you are directly connected to the modem and you are sure your cable, modem & computer can handle 1000 Mbps but you are still getting 200 Mbps then you should talk to your ISP.

@@Kinito If the computer has a 1Gbps network card it can handle that speed. If it is a WIN 10 machine search for "View you network properties" to check your link speed

Your wireless router should be dual-band to support that, basically this is something you would do on the wireless router (if it is dual-band of course)!

speedtest shows me 18 mb/s but when i download some game i get like 0.1 kb/s or 500 something kb/s
Maybe the server that you are downloading the game from is not fast enough!

I live out in the country and I have the worst internet EVER and I cant seem to find any other company to come out to me. I pay $100 for 700 gbps a month and its 119 for unlimited but it dont matemter because it's slow as hell. I wish there was somewhere i could get good internet any ideas?

Bruh I live with 5 mbps and it doesn't work half the time. This video alone took 5 minutes to buffer just to play 1 minute at 144p. I hate my life.
VPN is the no1 speedkiller.
I use one of the better services (NordVPN) and still, as soon as it is active, I loose >50% of downspeed and my ping time is 5 times as long.
This especially sucks, if you run a fixed VPN on your Asus router, cause now every time you want your normal fast internet speed, you have to log into your router and click your way through to disable VPN....
