I am really disappointed with you guys, you pride yourself on getting the expert to talk about various topic, this lady is not an expert on Islamic upbringing, she seems to have parent with the most superficial of Islamic knowledge, she did not try to learn anything herself, relying solely on 4th /5th hand knowledge. Don't recall her name but there was an incredible French woman helping muslim women escape from N African countries and setting them up in her charitable safe houses, teaching them working skills to give them financial independence.

Before I retired I was a senior manager in a financial institution; some of the young Asian males were very disparaging towards me as I am a white female. I think people would assimilate far more quickly if the west actually showed some backbone and actively challenged Islamic idea and beliefs. Not ban, not persecute, but strongly espouse western values (which are fast disappearing) as a counterbalance and show some absolute cultural strength and pride as opposed to constantly denigrating ourselves. If they want people to assimilate they need to present something that people want to assimilate to. People aren't attracted to weakness and the west currently looks like a slobbering self defeating mess so why would they want to assimilate.
