7:49 Well then again, -11 degrees centigrade is not _that_ cold. Normal winter temperatures, even for southern Finland. Of course the windchill factor will amplify the feeling if it is windy. Hopefully you got to experience at least -20 later on during your stay!
@pasiojala3227 Yes -22 today, but videos like these are usually published with a production delay of at least perhaps a week or two. This video was probably filmed in early December, already before Christmas. Jacob and Jenny have most likely left Finland already.
@@JacobandJennyTravel There's an inversion going on and wind is pretty strong on top of the significantly colder stagnant air. Saariselkä is at higher elevation and close to this inversion boundary, windchill is probably pretty bad. At the Vuotso village 35km to south it's calm there but temperature is 10 degrees lower.

"Fun" fact, most wood houses in Finland are painted red. It's because houses used to be painted with a paint made of reddish clay(biproduct of mining iron) which made them red. And that tradition has continued to this day even though paint isn't made out of clay anymore.
@@JacobandJennyTravel other common color is yellow (the paint is otherwise the same but a different mineral in the soil used produces yellow color instead of red)
To add: red is mimicing bricks, because wood was seen as cheap material. Red color was also seen a bit redneckish and lower class, so people with more wealth, edu ation and social status used yellow paint, like the mansion where vicar used to live.
@sakatt41Heter Rödmylla i Finland, inte samma sak som Faluröd. Rödmylla Fe2O3·H2O(Järn(III)oxidhydroxid), Faluröd Fe2O3SiO2(Järn(III)oxid-kiseldioxid).
@sakatt41 No original place here. Falun of course is the biggest producer as the mine was biggest in Europe. But Falun red is more bright and little orange, because it comes from copper not from iron as most of the paints. And it isn't clay, but copper/iron shale that comes as a byproduct of ore.
Dipping in the snow during the sauna session is not only traditional fun, but it is also a very healthy for blood circulation. Your bodies will thank you. 😉
I love Jenny’s enthusiasm about the snow. 😂 Btw, you’re so north in Finland that spruce trees don’t grow up there. If you look around you can notice that there’s only pine trees and birches growing.
We agree, the snowflakes in Finland just are perfect. And the scenery with all the snow is so picturesque! We always admire when you do those snow rolls!
Ivalo is nearest town, you should visit 35km+ north from Saariselkä. There is lot of stores etc :) Now you can experience the coldest weather there too.
Up by utsjoki they have the northernmost liquor store and post office in the EU and the northernmost rock i think? And kirkenes, which is like a little finnish town in Norway by the sea. I did a vacation with Aurora Holidays and it was so incredible up there in the very North!
Hey! It's nice to follow the adventures of the two of you and I'm happy to see you in my home country of Finland. It's funny that 90% of the videos are snow and cold, you rarely see people, but that's really the situation in the North. Come visit sometime in the summer, when it's +25 degrees here and people are clearly in a good mood after the miserable cold. I have to admit that I and many others go to visit foreign countries in the winter, not all Finns have it in their DNA to tolerate the cold. Greetings and take care :)
Great videos! I'm from Finland but live in Canada now. It's so nice to watch these. Makes me home sick though. But I'm so happy to see how much you're enjoying your time there. ❤️
I just had to do a bit of searching! That pub is definitely not most northern one. Utsjoki is Europe´s northernmost municipality (about 200km to north from Saariselkä) and there´s a pub there :)
Tube bandanas are very versatile, i have one around my neck and when i need extra layer for my face, it is easy to pull. It also allows to open the jacket a bit when it gets too hot without exposing throat. Getting too hot is common problem, when you stand still it is totally different from doing something.. and you need something for both. I never leave home without one these days. Tiny piece of fabric but so freaking handy.
Welcome back to Finland! I’m so glad you have enjoyed your stay here. Some sauna tips: (Maybe you know these already but oh well), You are usually supposed to have a quick shower before you go into sauna, sauna is a place where you go already clean. If the heat gets too much for Jenny she can sit on the lower bench. Lower benches are meant for Finnish kids and foreigners.😅 Also, sauna is a place for calm relaxation, 80 degrees Celsius is hot enough to start your sauna. And you can throw “löyly” slowly, little by little so the heat won’t get too hot too quickly and you can spend more time in there. Rule of thumb: If you’re not pink as a piglet when you come out then you didn’t get enough of the sauna.😊
I feel really honored that since Finland was one of your first countries you seem to feel so safe and homey in here, and ah, that just makes me so happy! I do hope you'll visit finland during the summer, especially in the midsummer (juhannus) when our nature is most lush, gorgeous and in bloom! (Also 7 euros for A beer?! Hopefully it was at least a 0,5 liter one since you can get one near my village for 5,80 euros!)
We do just love Finland so much! It is somewhere we always find ourselves wanting to go back to. We are hoping to make it back this summer too! Or fall to see the colors and northern lights! Thanks for watching friend ♥️
If you were here this week, good luck !!! Sunday was probably the warmest, Monday about the same but Tuesday onwards has been absolutely bitter. Wind chills in the mid -30c, I think it hit -40 once. Absolutely frigid and quick tip, mittens are much warmer than gloves by a lot and also your scarves were being worn incorrectly. They should be put above the nose barely under your eyes and then tied around the back. In these temps, zero skin should be exposed minus your eyes! I was there Monday/Tuesday (in Rovaniemi but I looked at Saariselka weather and it was about the same, if not much colder due to the lower wind chill) and dressed correctly I was still freezing! Good luck lol!!
7:27 Those are tourists who have rented clothes on them. Also, the sauna was too hot., around 80-85C is normal. Also, what kind of place have you rented? There is something wrong with the electricity circuit if sauna disconnects other heating from the house
Saariselkä "town" or village is made for tourists, skiers and hikers, there are very few permanent residents there. The nearest real town is Ivalo, the center of Inari municipality.
Local pro move is to use wrong end of a broom to gauge how deep snow is close to the sauna! Then just jump head on ukemi to the deep snow! That's like the best thing ever :D
Hahahahaaaaaaa 😂😂😂😂😂 Love u guys!!!!! Enjoy the -40 C and 1 meter snow! And 2 hours of daylight 😂😂😂😂😂 Just wait a few months and you have summer for a month 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Wow ! You guys are so brave ! As a native I never go out to swim in the snow or lake. I think you both recognise that "after sauna feeling", it´s so relaxed, casual feeling both inside and outside. In Finland we understand this already as child , my granma was born in sauna, it was not rare by the time she was born 1897 . What a fine footage, waiting for more. Take care .
Wow that is such a cool story!! We did not know giving birth in a sauna was a thing haha!! Thanks for sharing that with us :) and yes! The after sauna feeling is so amazing!
Yeah, it's a global weather anomaly, in a sense that at at least a couple of days ago from the time I'm writing this, Finland and Scandinavia was the *only* region in the world that was colder than average. All the rest showed as warmer than average on the map. In my home town it was -36°C, which was the coldest that I have ever experienced if my memory serves me right.
I do the same thing warming up the sauna and sit in it. I do that after I am done and it is all dry. Oh dressing tip when putting on your snow boots unzip your pants, makes it easier to maneuver then zip everything up.
Go Jacob! Not many Finns can stay in the snow like that. Or at least like to! Very "cool". I live in an apartment building in a town, where we have our own sauna in the apartment, but no easy access to snow. Instead when there's clean snow outside we carry a large bucket of it into the sauna, and just throw it on ourselves or whatever. It does not melt all that fast, especially if you keep the bucket on the lowest bench of the sauna. A good "backup" way of doing snow treatment.
Glad you tried the sauna. Aquired taste, but I'm sure you can see the potential when it's freezing cold outside and you've been spending time outside say, skiing.
I'm way more south (some 11 hours - or so - on a car) and three days ago when this video came out I had 7 layers of all the kinds of pants on when waking the dogs..
Did the air b&b have any fire building instructions or house book available? Did you know to open the "pelti", the air vent on the flue so that you are not smoking yourself inside / getting carbon monoxide poisoning?
How do I explain this... Put the scarf on you backwards. Put the middle part on your face just above your nose, under your eyes, wrap it behind your neck and tie it in front. That way it stays nicely on your face and protects it from cold.
I'm glad to see you guys enjoying the snow and sauna combination. You'd probably be surprised that swimming in a frozen lake (ice hole) feels actually a more gentle way to enjoy the sauna. The below zero snow almost feels painful and almost like a burning sensation in comparison. Spending a minute shoulders deep in the lake and having a sauna gives a definitive endorphin rush. Also, from 60°C to 80° is a perfect time to get the moist warmth while having a cold one before taking the first plunge. 😉👍
That is awesome! We got to do a sauna and the swim in the ocean in Iceland and Norway, and we will be doing it soon again in Helsinki! We can't wait! Thanks for your comment :)
Remeber on layering clothing to not put too many socks to your boots as it is the air that keeps them insulated and if you put them too tight there cant be any air, same goes to all layering :) Merino wool next to skin, t shirt over that some air trapping clothing and then jacket and pants to combat wind :) Sometimes less can be more :) Bet you knew these but someone else can find this info useful aswell. Btw courious to know what made Finland your first place to visit?
That kind of information is always helpful :) and we really wanted to go to Lapland for the snow, and northern lights! It was always on a bucket list. And now we can’t stop coming 😍❄️ thanks for your comment friend!
Oh man, idk if you heard but there's RECORD LOW temperatures in Finland and other Nordic countries this week. 😳 And you happened to visit Finland for vacation when this happens. 😬 Stay warm!!!
Not record low. Winter 1984-1985 it was much colder when the temperature in Southern Finland dropped below -40 centigrades for two weeks and in Salla the temperature was below -50 centigrades.
@@LeifAnderssohn Ok, got it. I've read in the news that there's records low temperature in Sweden and Finland (minus 40 °C/°F). It's Sweden record low in the last 25 years.
@@criss6945 It hasn't been record breaking cold in Finland, outside Northwest "arm" between Sweden and Norway temps haven't breached -40C. Last time -40C in anywhere Finland happened 3 years ago. But in southern/middle Finland it has been unusually cold, they don't often see -30C and more.
2:00 Thats a bad mistake. If it really is that cold you should not cover your mouth/nose because of your breath will make the scarf wet and it'll most definitely freeze and then you cant even use it to comfortably cover your neck.
Hi, Awesome videos n very informative. We are heading Lapland this winter, may I know the name of the AirBnB u guys stayed in Saariselkä? Thanks fr sunny Singapore 👍
Snow chrystals has more shapes during cold times. Thats one reason they seems nice - and sounds more when walking in -30 compared to -5 celsius. In cold those many little parts of flakes breaks underfoot and shatter. At milder temperatures, there are fewer and weaker parts of snow flakes, and when approaching zero, the pressure underfoot gets some of chrystal parts melted and reduces crunching sounds still more.
You should have a good parka/down jacket with big hood. The hood will protect your face from frost bites if it is really cold. You should not use those gloves. You should use mittens like Hestra Hali ski mittens. They are super warm and won’t get wet from snow. Underneath those mittens you could have Hestra merino wool touch liners. They are thin and you can easily operate your camera gear or your phones.
It is because of the Gulf stream, why it is more moderate temperatures on the coast of Norway, even if it was more north than Saariselkä. Winters are infamously harsh and brutal in northern Lapland+ due to Polar Night, when the Sun wont go up at all.
Have to say that 95 degrees in that small sauna with electric heater sound too hot even for Finn 😁 you should try temps from 60 and higher so you know when it’s good for you.
You wanna get genuine leather gloves with fur on the inside to keep your fingers warm. When your fingers are together they warm each other and the leather keeps wind away :)
Yeah that would be very unfortunate hahah! Thankfully that door is actually extremely hard to lock so we never had that problem 🙌🏼 thanks for watching friend :)
Nice! I think when you were in Rovaniemi and later Levi, many Finns recommended you to visit Saariselkä and now you got there! I have been there only in summer and autumn when the place looks quite different :) I saw from the forecast that in friday there will be even -27°C in Saariselkä. I of course don't know if you are still there and when this video was recorded. It's quite cold here south at the moment too, almost -20°C, but fortunately it will be warmer next week.
@@JacobandJennyTravel yes a lot! I have understood that statistically the best time for seeing the autumn colors at their best is the second week of September.
Did you actually have to lock the door with the key? That is really rare in Finland. Abloy locks usually has a button in the lock mechanism. If you push it up the door stays locked and if the button is down then the door stays unlocked. Alternatively the door always locks and you just need the key always.
Yes it was actually quite difficult to lock haha! That is so interesting though, we did not know that about doors in Finland! Thanks for the information :)
Youre having "kiuas" setting too hot. Thats not good to use it so red. Dial it down a little and make it like 80 celsius max. Electric is harder to make good.
@@JacobandJennyTravel did you see the northern lights yet? there are some apps that can give you northern lights forcasts and an app that notifies you when there are live northern lights sightings in the area. we had the luck to see the northern lights on the evening of 25. December.
Good rule of thumb for sauna is to sit there and NOT throw any water until you are sweating. Try to relax and take it easy in the sauna. If the sauna is big enough it is also nice to lay down there
I've never, ever heard of this rule before. In fact, if you have a real woostove in the sauna, the first "löyly" is tossed on the stones before you ever prepare to actually get undressed and bathe. It's called "häkälöyly", or, free translation, the "carbon monoxide steam". It doesn't really remove the CO from the air, but clears the possible smoke a bit. Also, it isn't supposed to be dry heat, and a few ladles of water are intentionally put on the stove a few moments before you intend to go in. There are different schools of thought on whether you should wet your body and hair before going to the hot room or not, but it's generally a matter of preferences. In the summer, you might swim first and only then go to the heat. There might be some justification for not throwing the water on there before you're sweating, but really, it isn't a sauna if you don't do that. It's a generic hot room. The steam, löyly, literally is the spirit (the same word in Finnish for spirit and breath, "henki") of the sauna. Without it, it isn't what it's meant to be, both in the physical sense, and the original spiritual sense. This, from a born and raised Finn who has done some serious delving into the old traditions, spiritual concepts, beliefs, and mentality that go into the cultural traditions of old.
Can u please provide some recommendations for stay in saariselka Also do we see northern lights here? If you could please help with these details it would be really grateful
You should have a shower and also wet your hair/head before going to the sauna. It's both for keeping the sauna clean and your body to not overheat. And then you don't have to scream how hot it is, because it's much more comfortable when your body is wet 😅
@JacobandJennyTravel There's an old Finnish Saab TV commercial from the 1980s on the topic. Guys lock themselves out, but luckily their Saab is in front of the sauna (with keys in ignition), so they go inside and turn on the motor and heat, and the fun continues.. The title on UA-cam is "Saab mainos sauna".
so the basic rule is if it snows, it's not cold.if it snows it means there's clouds which means "warmer" temperatures. when it gets really cold, the sky is always clear.
Why on earth would anyone go to Arctic in winter. To avoid the mosquitoes? News flash, there is a time in Lapland when there is no snow and it is not cold. I know, it is sometimes hard to find.
You guys are crazy, in a fun way. 😂. That rolling in the snow doesn’t intrigue me. Haha. But you have fun and enjoy it. Don’t lock yourself out of your room. 🥶❄️☃️💗
You probably didn't know, but the Finnish Snowflake Ministry cooperates with Finnair. When refueling Finnair's planes, some kind of secret extract is added in winter, which makes the snowflakes durable and beautiful. Did you have fun in the snow? At least I got a good laugh, thank you guys, for that.
I´m happy that you have enjoyed yourself here in Finland. Next time you should try really exotic, challenging and lively cities like Kemi, Kokkola and Raahe. Maintaining positivity and surviving in those cities usually requires a lot of luck and humor. Those cities are only for the really brave ones. 🤔🙏
Extreme heat followed by extreme cold is good for your health while getting you high and relaxed. Three rounds is considered the ultimate. The human body requires temperature changes, not a constant 21°C as many of us live today.
@@JacobandJennyTravel When you wait for the fire to go into red hot embers that is a good time to make the sausage. It doesn't burn as easily (fire burns it easy) also doesn't get black from the smoke. It just cooks nicely and the heat produced is very clean at that stage.
95 degrees Celsius is way too high for a Sauna this small to be comfortable. At home I have 65 plus throw water and that's just perfect for me. The typical would be 80 degrees.
Remember that you always wet and wash your whole body before going to the sauna. We always go to the sauna clean because it is a holy place. In the olden days, births were given in the sauna and the dead were also washed. Its great that you like Finland and Finnish culture! 👍😍

I do the same thing warming up the sauna and sit in it. I do that after I am done and it is all dry. Oh dressing tip when putting on your snow boots unzip your pants, makes it easier to maneuver then zip everything up.
Wow that is great to know!! Thanks for the tip :)
When you stepped outside I realized I can hear the temperature 😅 the crunch of the snow is different at -1c° at -10c° and -20c°.
Whoa that is so cool!! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks friend!! Haha that is awesome! We will have to give that a try next time we are in Finland! Thanks for sharing!
Get glove liners, make your hands super toasty and you can operate the camera. You have gotta come here in the summer. Your minds will be blown.
That is great to know!! Thanks for the advice :) we definitely want to come in the summer soon🌞
Glad you tried the sauna. Aquired taste, but I'm sure you can see the potential when it's freezing cold outside and you've been spending time outside say, skiing.
We definitely see the appeal! And we love how it soothes our muscles after a cold day of activities! Thanks for watching :)
I really enjoyed watching this video! Have you seen Finland in summertime? If you haven't come and experience the magic, please?
We are so glad you enjoyed it!! We are hoping to make it to Finland this summer 🙌🏼 thanks so much for watching friend!
I'm way more south (some 11 hours - or so - on a car) and three days ago when this video came out I had 7 layers of all the kinds of pants on when waking the dogs..
Hahaha!! It is so cold 🥶 thanks for watching!
Did the air b&b have any fire building instructions or house book available? Did you know to open the "pelti", the air vent on the flue so that you are not smoking yourself inside / getting carbon monoxide poisoning?
Yes we did know to open it :) it would be terrible to have all the smoke coming into the house haha! Thanks for watching!
How do I explain this... Put the scarf on you backwards. Put the middle part on your face just above your nose, under your eyes, wrap it behind your neck and tie it in front. That way it stays nicely on your face and protects it from cold.
That is very helpful! Thank you friend :)
-35 today at western part of Finland and it's coming up north. So be ready for that... 😂
That is so cold!! Haha! It is time to bundle up! Thanks for the heads up :)
Good exercise is doing a little snow work and clearing the yard of snow
That does sound like good exercise haha!! Thanks for watching :)
Oh man, idk if you heard but there's RECORD LOW temperatures in Finland and other Nordic countries this week. 😳 And you happened to visit Finland for vacation when this happens. 😬
Stay warm!!!
Wow that is crazy!! It is definitely the coldest we have ever felt lol! Thanks for watching friend :)
Yes that was a struggle hahaha
Hi,
Awesome videos n very informative. We are heading Lapland this winter, may I know the name of the AirBnB u guys stayed in Saariselkä?
Thanks fr sunny Singapore 👍
It is called "cozy, small apartment in Saariselka" :) we love Singapore!! Thanks for watching!
Ahh that makes sense!! The snow was so beautiful and soft! Thanks for the information friend :)
We definitely need those mittens!! Cheers friend :)
It is because of the Gulf stream, why it is more moderate temperatures on the coast of Norway, even if it was more north than Saariselkä. Winters are infamously harsh and brutal in northern Lapland+ due to Polar Night, when the Sun wont go up at all.
That makes sense!! Thank you for your comment :)
😋Currently eating tuna with mustard😛You learnd me!🥰
Hahaha that is so amazing!! Tuna and mustard is the best 🙌🏼 cheers friend!
Oh wow it was only -11C. I for sure thought it was much colder because of the way you spoke about the coldness 😂
I think it felt a lot colder because of the wind!😂
Haha you two are such good value .. Aussie slang .. loved all that sparkling snow .. gorgeous.. you guys always put a smile on my dial 😁☃️🥰
Hahaha thank you Vicki!!♥️♥️ And now we know some Aussie slang 🙌🏼
When the temperature gets low enough the snow starts sparkling a lot from moon light or artificial light.
Have to say that 95 degrees in that small sauna with electric heater sound too hot even for Finn 😁 you should try temps from 60 and higher so you know when it’s good for you.
That is good to know!! I was struggling but Jacob was loving it haha! Thanks for watching! Cheers friend :)
You got the green toddler mustard again! 🤣
Hahaha! Ok our airbnb had the red one and we actually ended up using that and liking it a lot more!!
You surely know that the idea of the sauna is to throw water on the "stove" (kiuas)?
You wanna get genuine leather gloves with fur on the inside to keep your fingers warm. When your fingers are together they warm each other and the leather keeps wind away :)
That makes sense!! Thanks for the tip :)
Maybe go out one at the time when rolling in the snow because if you’d get locked out, well… 😅
Yeah that would be very unfortunate hahah! Thankfully that door is actually extremely hard to lock so we never had that problem 🙌🏼 thanks for watching friend :)
It is good for your health to go in from the sauna to a snow project or a hole in the water!
We always feel so good after we do it!!
Nice! I think when you were in Rovaniemi and later Levi, many Finns recommended you to visit Saariselkä and now you got there! I have been there only in summer and autumn when the place looks quite different :)
I saw from the forecast that in friday there will be even -27°C in Saariselkä. I of course don't know if you are still there and when this video was recorded.
It's quite cold here south at the moment too, almost -20°C, but fortunately it will be warmer next week.
Yes you are right!! And we want to come back in the autumn. Is there lots of autumn color with the leaves changing?
@@JacobandJennyTravel yes a lot! I have understood that statistically the best time for seeing the autumn colors at their best is the second week of September.
@@JacobandJennyTravel ^ Meaning there in northern parts of Lapland.
I had so much fun to watch your video 😂 I love your style to do videos ❤ You're welcome to Finland ❤ You should visit Koli (Lieksa) sometimes
This comment made us smile!! Thank you so much friend ♥️ we will look that up!!
Youre having "kiuas" setting too hot. Thats not good to use it so red. Dial it down a little and make it like 80 celsius max. Electric is harder to make good.
That is good to know! Thanks for the information :)
You are so lovely couple! Just a little hint! No snow roll, just jump into 50cm snow layer and enjoy! :D
Thank you so much friend :) that sounds awesome!!
Hello from Finland, this week we have over -30
Hi friend!! It is so cold 🥶 thanks for watching!!
There were northern lights at least in Levi last night- hope you got to see them in Saariselkä as well! 🙂
We were looking for them but never got to see them 🥲 hopefully another day!!🙌🏼
You are in the same cabin as my family and i were last year 😊
That is so cool! It is so cozy!
@@JacobandJennyTravel did you see the northern lights yet? there are some apps that can give you northern lights forcasts and an app that notifies you when there are live northern lights sightings in the area. we had the luck to see the northern lights on the evening of 25. December.
Wind speed is over 10 m/s and temperature - 21C. That feels the same as - 35C in calm weather.
That totally makes sense!! Thanks for watching :)
Good rule of thumb for sauna is to sit there and NOT throw any water until you are sweating. Try to relax and take it easy in the sauna. If the sauna is big enough it is also nice to lay down there
That is great to know!! Thanks for sharing :)
Can u please provide some recommendations for stay in saariselka
Also do we see northern lights here?
If you could please help with these details it would be really grateful
We stayed in an airbnb because it was cheaper, but the Holiday Club there looked like a great hotel :) enjoy!
-11 degrees C? Literal baby numbers!
Just recently, the temperature dropped to whooping -39*C!
That is quite cold 🥶 thank you for watching!!
Hey, can you tel me about the supermarket, do you know they Open on the 25/26 Dezember? we arrive this time in 2024 and Need Food🤣thanks
Hahaha oh man I am not sure!😅 good luck friend!
-11 degrees isnt that bad, for example about a week ago it was -40 degrees.
Yes that is sooo much colder! 🥶
That's barely snowing. You should see what it's like when it's actually snowing hard! 😉
Hahah you are right❄️ thanks for watching!!
Finally you are back!! 😄 it's been freezing cold lately..
We are so happy to be back!! It is so cold 🥶
Just measly -11C.
You should experience the -30C it can get down there.
That would be so so cold 🥶 hahaha
You should have a shower and also wet your hair/head before going to the sauna. It's both for keeping the sauna clean and your body to not overheat. And then you don't have to scream how hot it is, because it's much more comfortable when your body is wet 😅
That is good to know! We will do that next time. Thanks for the information :)
Hit the cold spot, which isn't a bad thing. -17C in Helsinki.
It is definitely chilly! Thankfully we can warm up in the sauna 🙌🏼 thanks for watching!!
Imagine accidentally locking yourself out when you are rolling in the snow.. ;) Better be careful with the door...
Hahaha that would be so terrible 🥶😂
@JacobandJennyTravel There's an old Finnish Saab TV commercial from the 1980s on the topic. Guys lock themselves out, but luckily their Saab is in front of the sauna (with keys in ignition), so they go inside and turn on the motor and heat, and the fun continues.. The title on UA-cam is "Saab mainos sauna".
so the basic rule is if it snows, it's not cold.if it snows it means there's clouds which means "warmer" temperatures. when it gets really cold, the sky is always clear.
That is so interesting, we always feel like it isn't too cold when it is snowing and not windy! Thanks for your comment :)
@@JacobandJennyTravel also you can tell by the sound the snow makes.. i'm sure you've noticed by now..
Why on earth would anyone go to Arctic in winter. To avoid the mosquitoes? News flash, there is a time in Lapland when there is no snow and it is not cold. I know, it is sometimes hard to find.
Hahaha we actually really wanted to be in a lot of snow! It is a novelty to us (we are from the desert). Thanks for watching friend :)
You guys are crazy, in a fun way. 😂. That rolling in the snow doesn’t intrigue me. Haha. But you have fun and enjoy it. Don’t lock yourself out of your room. 🥶❄️☃️💗
Hahaha🤪😂 oh man, if we locked ourselves out we would be sooo cold🥶
You probably didn't know, but the Finnish Snowflake Ministry cooperates with Finnair. When refueling Finnair's planes, some kind of secret extract is added in winter, which makes the snowflakes durable and beautiful. Did you have fun in the snow? At least I got a good laugh, thank you guys, for that.
Oh wow that is so interesting! We had a great time in the snow. We are glad you enjoyed our video🇫🇮 thanks so much for watching!
Finland is always our favorite! Hahaha we will have to keep those cities in mind!!🧐 Thanks for the recommendations!
Extreme heat followed by extreme cold is good for your health while getting you high and relaxed. Three rounds is considered the ultimate. The human body requires temperature changes, not a constant 21°C as many of us live today.
We always feel so good after going from hot to cold! Thanks for the information :)
It's definitely safe to grill sausage in the fire even with fire starter
I've even cooked a sausage in the exhaust of a forwarder and still alive
That is great to know!! Thanks for the information :)
@@JacobandJennyTravel When you wait for the fire to go into red hot embers that is a good time to make the sausage. It doesn't burn as easily (fire burns it easy) also doesn't get black from the smoke. It just cooks nicely and the heat produced is very clean at that stage.
Hello! which month was this taken at?
It was in December :)
95 degrees Celsius is way too high for a Sauna this small to be comfortable. At home I have 65 plus throw water and that's just perfect for me. The typical would be 80 degrees.
It definitely was very very hot haha!! That is good to know. Thanks for sharing :)
You sure picked a cold week
Hahaha🥶 it is time to bundle up!! Thanks for watching!
Remember that you always wet and wash your whole body before going to the sauna.
We always go to the sauna clean because it is a holy place.
In the olden days, births were given in the sauna and the dead were also washed.
Its great that you like Finland and Finnish culture! 👍😍
Wow that is so interesting!! We love Finland and it's culture! Thanks for watching :)
How's weather now... -35C/-18F??? 🥶🤣
Yes it is so so cold 🥶 thanks for watching!!
Actually Norway has the most northernmost things and locations, but one thing I know for fact Finland has northernmost freeway in the world. Btw I visited Inari/Saariselkä just couple months ago, love it in Lapland, so serene.
That is so interesting!! Thats amazing, it is such a wonderful place :) thanks for watching!
