I was born in a very religious muslim family, but as my father grew older he started drifting towards being atheist, but the opposite happened or happening to me, as I am growing older I am getting more religious. Alhamdulillah, I have heard from people who were with my father before he passed away that my father started praying again and even visited mosque on occasions. I hope and pray that my "Abba" died as muslim.
Plz pray for him frequently , you are his generation , and the best gift any Child can give to their parents after death is pray for them and give charity for him !
I was born in Iraq and read Quran from start to end many times , I speak. Arabic fluent, when I was a child fear blinded me didn’t deeply listen logically to Islam , when I went to uni , my mind was wider and I was questioning more, rather than blindly follow , I read Quran again , understood properly then I left not only Islam , but took religion out of my mind , since then I found meaning for life and peace inside myself , for me it’s just man taking to man thing , it’s fantasy and fiction to me , Quran has so many aggressive lines , encouraging you to hate people who are not believing in Islam , so many contradictions, hope you will re read it again effectively after you learn Arabic ,
I’m so impressed with how he articulates himself. 6 years into Islam and sounds like he was born into the religion. Younger than me even yet feels much older. May Allah bless him immensely

Brother I feel your pain, I am from Bangladesh and when I tell them not to listen to music, they say I am killing the vibe. When I say to do Salah whilst we are in the restaurant they say I am killing their vibe. It is within our own communities. This resonates even in Muslim families.

My story is kinda same...though my father is himself a practising muslim as he regularly offers most of his prayers in a day...but he often objects me practising the same and discourages me...giving the excuse that I am too young to practice all these...there has been many times when I have been scolded and yelled at by him...and now this has led me to prayer in secret being frightened... And all these things doesn’t end here,he has a problem with practising every islamic thing...his every wrong-doing has made me very depressed and suicidal and since he is a very ill-tempered person, I can't do anything to make him realise of his mistakes and even if I do,he starts abusing me even more and in extreme case,he beats me...I feel very suicial and depressed and even thinking about committing it, I have no other way left but making dua and praying to Him staying in my limits...may allah gives him(my biological father) hedayat and sensibility and every person like him...guys pray for me..
There are some points regarding what you have said..."with hardship comes an ease" and " when you think you are in hardship, you are really just in brief moment between blessings". Difficulty is not a permanent state, it's a phase of your life, that you are going through at the moment. When we becoming too focused on hardship we don't see the all blessings and love with what Allah has surrounded us. I do understand your situation to some extent, because I had through quite similar issues and had suicidal thoughts too, the only thing that kept me away from it... I was scared of hell. Today 5 years later I am so happy that Allah kept me away from it. I understood the amount of blessings that always were next to me, even in times of grieve... I won't say it is easy to rethink everything, and change focus to positive things...but when you see the world with your heart, you start to notice Allah's presence in every single thing, his supreme love towards you, even skies are there for you, all kinds of animals are exists for you, all the beautiful places on Earth and beyond are there for you...so you become closer to Allah. Allah is always with you, fill your heart with love to him, connect to Him and you will see the light that will clear your grieve away... I hope it helps even a bit.. please don't give up on mercy and power of Allah 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 we can't change people, but Allah is a Lord of Hearts
sister I will make duaa for you in sha Allah to night because it is Laylatul Qadr. I am also a girl and I can feel your pain.. I Really recommend that it will be very uplifting if you would go to a Psychologist. Even if you can't go, you can talk online with a proffesional muslim psychologist. Our Rabb, Allah s.w.t. want us to make duaa for our trials but also wants that we make efforts to take responsibility for our own health ( I know you don't have the energy but you just have to talk about your feelings and problems which you feel daily) . Please sister, take this step to talk and deal with your feelings... You are very valuable and we need you in this world. I hope you will see this as a sign to speak up for yourself because normally I don't write to someone in the comments but your story touched me and I wanted to say all of this to you. May Allah will give you the power that you need and give you hope and love towards yourself...

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته، as a born muslimah I relate to what you're saying- when people act like that I see it as a reminder that "see, not everyone is given the same love for Allah or understanding about life or access to the peace and joy that only Allah swt provides" and it strengthens my imaan because the more people around you like that, the more you could've easily been just as blind and silly by sheer probability, but Allah picked you out like a needle in a haystack and gave you hidaayah😁and so to prove your gratitude like Ibrahim عليه السلام did for guidance, never ever leave Allah swt

My story is kinda same...though my father is himself a practising muslim as he regularly offers most of his prayers in a day...but he often objects me practising the same and discourages me...giving the excuse that I am too young to practice all these...there has been many times when I have been scolded and yelled at by him...and now this has led me to prayer in secret being frightened...
And all these things doesn’t end here,he has a problem with practising every islamic thing...his every wrong-doing has made me very depressed and suicidal and since he is a very ill-tempered person, I can't do anything to make him realise of his mistakes and even if I do,he starts abusing me even more and in extreme case,he beats me...I feel very suicial and depressed and even thinking about committing it, I have no other way left but making dua and praying to Him staying in my limits...may allah gives him(my biological father) hedayat and sensibility and every person like him...guys pray for me..
May Allah give you peace in your life. May Allah soften your father heart.
There are some points regarding what you have said..."with hardship comes an ease" and " when you think you are in hardship, you are really just in brief moment between blessings". Difficulty is not a permanent state, it's a phase of your life, that you are going through at the moment. When we becoming too focused on hardship we don't see the all blessings and love with what Allah has surrounded us. I do understand your situation to some extent, because I had through quite similar issues and had suicidal thoughts too, the only thing that kept me away from it... I was scared of hell. Today 5 years later I am so happy that Allah kept me away from it. I understood the amount of blessings that always were next to me, even in times of grieve... I won't say it is easy to rethink everything, and change focus to positive things...but when you see the world with your heart, you start to notice Allah's presence in every single thing, his supreme love towards you, even skies are there for you, all kinds of animals are exists for you, all the beautiful places on Earth and beyond are there for you...so you become closer to Allah.
Allah is always with you, fill your heart with love to him, connect to Him and you will see the light that will clear your grieve away...
I hope it helps even a bit.. please don't give up on mercy and power of Allah 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 we can't change people, but Allah is a Lord of Hearts
sister I will make duaa for you in sha Allah to night because it is Laylatul Qadr. I am also a girl and I can feel your pain.. I Really recommend that it will be very uplifting if you would go to a Psychologist. Even if you can't go, you can talk online with a proffesional muslim psychologist. Our Rabb, Allah s.w.t. want us to make duaa for our trials but also wants that we make efforts to take responsibility for our own health ( I know you don't have the energy but you just have to talk about your feelings and problems which you feel daily) . Please sister, take this step to talk and deal with your feelings... You are very valuable and we need you in this world. I hope you will see this as a sign to speak up for yourself because normally I don't write to someone in the comments but your story touched me and I wanted to say all of this to you. May Allah will give you the power that you need and give you hope and love towards yourself...
