Continuously finding more and more and more Tally Hall / Miracle Musical stuff has become quite the inspiration.
I think I screamed when I found out about Tallyhall and Joe Hawley Joe Hawley
Same, ill click on just about anything by tally hall/ joe hawley
I have to almost ration out their stuff
And here is were i found your band
I thought I had found a new band similar to tally hall when I found miracle musical and I was ready disappointed when I found out it was sort of their goodbye project
@@uncannychmkn8188 That's pretty sick that it was on a TH thing!
the fact that there isnt an 8 bit time machine is depressing
Hawaii: Part II now on NES
Kenny Hernandez Id buy it in an instant
@@crish3445 I'd buy it in 2 instants I'll send the first instant in shock and amazement that such a this real
its actually a game, its good, i got it a week ago and love it!!
Starring Mario, Banana Man, and the cast of Tally Hall
@@tencolorpen how d’u get it?
Someone mentioned in Stranded Lullaby one thing sounded like a really tiny trumpet and now I can't get it out of my head any time I hear it, it's like, pretty melody and then
*toot*
Oh god now I can't stop hearing it
help now i hear it lmaoo
*White Ball 8-Bit has me tearing up*
yes
i love how stranded lullaby's all quiet & peaceful and then Bam labyrinth time
I was on a different tab, really calm from stranded lullaby and labyrinth hit like a truck
I was trying to process what that meant only to be Labyrinth Jumpscared
Not on you, I'm a teensy bit slow
but i still want part I.
I want Pepperoni 1.
Martha The Magica half life fans be like
there actually is a part i, but it’s just the instrumentals and demos
@@pixeliien actually thats part ii part ii
"only two can make it light"
Damn i wish hawaii was real
I love how this account appreciates all the guys from tally hall’s work, I love all of it
Apparently this channel is just meant to be a giant reference to some small youtuber named Void Eon
fun fact: this album cover is not actually true pixel art. a lot of the “pixels” are actually rectangles and don’t follow a set grid. found this out the hard way while trying to make minecraft map art of it
SO.... RETRO!!!!
the actual album itself always feels like theres some sort of mystery behind it. some story that isnt being told. i need to know what it is. this only makes me want to do it further
There's a widely accepted theory (I think the creator admit it,) That the whole album tells the story about a boy who kills his girlfriend and, after being tortured by electroshock therapy, ends up lost at on sea.
Although it is my favorite interpretation. Nobody knows exactly how the story goes. Mainly because the lyrics aren't clear enough. And people still coming up with new interpretations every other once in a while.
like the comment above me said, it's VERY likely that the male voice(s) in the album (who's name is simon according to an early mind electric demo) falls in love with the female voice (who doesn't have a canon name) & everything's swell until she's mysteriously murdered. it's almost certain that he didn't commit the crime, but since almost all evidence points to him, he pleads insanity rather than innocent to get out of the mess scott-free. this plan works a little TOO well, & he is given electroshock-therapy to "fix his mind", but since he wasn't actually insane it had the exact opposite effect. Simon slowly falls into madness & feels as if he's completely trapped in his own brain. In an attempt to escape the torture, he gets on a boat & sails away from everyone & everything. Inevitably, he gets lost at seas & slowly dies, either from starvation, sirens, a whale etc. at the end of Dream Sweet he reunites with the girl in the afterlife.
each song tells a part in the story, EX. Introduction to The Snow is just an intro, Murders is well, the murder, & Dream Sweet is Simon dying at sea & going to the afterlife
Nightfall I feel like the boat and “lost at sea” part of the album is a metaphor of sorts, rather than being more literal.
In time machine, Simon leaves the infirmary and isolates himself from the world, which I think is represented by the mechanical sounds at the end. It sounds like something shutting down or crashing down somewhat. Idk how to really describe it.
In stranded lullaby, Simon is alone, “lost at sea,” (possibility meaning he’s disoriented, disorganised and without meaning in life) and longing for nothing more than his dead lover, wondering why he remains in the world though he’s so utterly lost.
And, in dream sweet in sea major, death lures him in like a siren, promising paradise with his lover. At the end of the song, he says his final goodbye to the world, concluding the album.
This is just what I’ve theorised over the past four months or so of listening to the album, and my main theory matches with yours except for the concept of going out to sea.
I don’t mean to come off as rude, and I apologise if that was the impression I gave. Thank you so much for your time.
Have a wonderful day! =)
research octangula!!! research secrets and mysteries of hawaii: a call to the soul!!!
@@insertcleverwriterpennameh4644 The widely accepted interpretation is that 'Simon' (name never given) arrives at Hawaii by a boat he owns, and after going insane attempts to return home by the same boat, but ends up lost at sea because insane people apparently can't navigate boats.
i'm obsessed with the labyrinth 8-bit, it sounds like the track that would play during a final boss in an arcade game.
The portion used for labyrinth is actually also from the mind electric! There are 3 different tests for the mind electric using that portion and they sound super cool! One with reverb, one with Tesla coils, and one with a “Simon synth”
i wonder if there are any VARIATIONS on those CLOUDS. am i right, FOLKS
*loud obnoxious coughing*
YEAH...RIGHT...
Labyrinth coming out of nowhere and flashbanged my ears lmao
Stranded Lullaby: Treasure Room/File Select
Labyrinth: Dungeon
Murders: Final Boss
Space Station Lvl. 7: Stage 7 theme
The Mind Electric: Boss Intro
White Ball: Shop Theme
Dream Sweet: Roll Credits
Fun fact: this album is actually used for the Labyrinth game and stranded lullaby is the starting screen labyrinth is the song just played through most (i think) of the game and murders is played in the statue area! (I haven't finished the game btw)
@@funnynotfunny2335 wait do you have access to the game right now cause I thought it was considered lost media
@@Wodd_D I had a link, but I lost it
@@Wodd_D it's on the internet archive, same place that hosts the way back machine. The game is more infuriating than fun tho...
my only complaint is that they didn't do an isle unto thyself bit.
Agreed
@@nullarcana Everything needs an 8-bit cover

white ball gives me flashbacks. that last part of the game is torture
murders 8 bit gives even worse flashbacks
Jesus Labyrinth really came out of nowhere. That genuinely scared me.
Hey sorry if this is random but is the album a metaphor for 9/11 or is that just that clouds song
@@velvettheater I think that’s just Variations on a Cloud
How did I read this the moment labyrinth came blasting from my speakers
same
@@velvettheater 8 months later I come back with the knowledge that the entire album is theorized to be about 9/11
how interesting, i really do like the 8-bit style of these songs though..
especially dream sweet, damn i'm crying again!
these songs were used for a game that was available for a short time
@@aaron_exe6449 you can still get it, people archived it, i got it last week n its great
These are from the Labyrinth videogame (not the song itself, there was a game and you can probably still find it)
the last song makes me feel emotions that i didn't know existed
Yeah Dream Sweet does that, no matter what form it's in lol
My only gripe about this is that some songs are super soft (Stranded Lullaby, Space Station) while others (Labyrinth, The Mind Electric) are super loud. Ears are dying trying to listen to this
Me, who listens to the album on loop for at least 5 hours per day nonstop: You get used to it
As someone who actually played labyrinth its a problem in game too :'D
I didn't think I would listen to the whole thing. Now I'm considering playing it for other people.
7:46 gives me Kirby vibes
This must form part of the lore
Lol, Labyrinth in 8-bit? That's how it was made to be! (Including using actual 8-bit)
You’re talking a lot more often that I thought you would, Amalgamation. Care to elaborate?
Yo why Labyrinth and The Mind Electric sounding kinda sad?
Labyrinth IS sad
@@srgodgodderson5965 I mean so is The Mind Electric, in fact a bunch of the songs in the Album are sad.

Oh how glad I am for UA-cam to recommend this to me!

@@velvettheater you can never know.
So nostalgic and sad.
my beloved
stranded lullaby is good as ever
I know stylistically, it sounds good, but I can't bear the fact that it's out of order.
These musics (the original album and game) are, how to explain that... it’s like some sort of... y’know, all the songs and musics are connected, but you don’t know exactly why, how and where.....
子供の頃、ゲームコーlabyrinthをプレイしたことを覚えています、そのゲームのサウンドトラックはまさにこれと同じように聞こえました
I think you played the official Labyrinth game! It's no longer available, so that's cool that you got to play it while it existed
Normally I despise mixelling in pixelart with a furious passion, though I feel like it fits surprisingly well for this album's cover.
While all the songs sound 8-bit, yet throughout the entire album, there's subtle musical techniques used that wouldn't work on that type of hardware. Which creates a type of art similar to mixelling in pixelart; art that shifts limitations of a style to have it stand as something else.
B sides of Hawaii part II
