Those demos for The Mind Electric and how the last one connects it to Labyrinth makes me want to cry.
Bro same
When i first heard the whistling of Mind Electric i lost my shit because its the first repeated motif in the album i noticed (then soon found out they keep repeating motifs throughout) and i thought it was genius to have Labyrinth be born from a supposed extended version for TME
Now the 8bit arpeggiated synths in TME sounding like Labyrinth makes so much sense because it’s meant to be like that. The teslacoil, the simon synth, the reamplification effects. Its so good. You can tell how much effort joe put in these two songs djvjdnvndjd
Omfg this is the first time listening to this whole album without the lyrics and stuff and I have been obsessed with the mind electric for almost 2 years now this is blowing my mind to hell and back.

@@idkausernameplztellmeone 42 minutes and 18 seconds if I remember correctly
A lot of people are saying that it sounds like there's some kind of hidden story to this album, and I think the reason is because of a heavy use of Leitmotifs.
A Leitmotif is basically a recurring melody designed to evoke the memory of the first time you heard it, and it is a common tool used to form narratives. If you listen carefully, a lot of melodies repeat themselves throughout the album.
The story has been deciphered we believe. Man goes to Hawaii, meets girl, girl gets murdered in forest, man gets blamed, pleas insanity, undergoes electroshock therapy, goes actually insane from it, leaves asylum, forgets that his lover is dead due to insanity, goes to look for her, gets lost at sea, drowns, reunited with lover in heaven, bye hi sigh hawaii.
@@TrueLimeyhoney really?
@@Sobriedosis what they said is mostly correct. The last bit is the only one that's unclear. It could be that he leaves the asylum and dies sometime after, though it could also be that he dies inside the asylum and is reunited with her after death.
@@avemetatarsaliaenthusiast8202 jesus this album is so mystical i love it
The more I listen to this album the less I believe it tells a story
The most popular interpretation (the electro therapy one) seems to read the mind electric too literally but dismisses everything else as metaphors (like the references to heaven's gate or 9/11)
If anything I would say this album is about death as whole
Edit: I changed my final conclusion on what the album might be about but the rest of the comment is still the same

The "Time Machine" Demos (Demo 1,2 and Possibly 3?) are recorded during when Tally Hall was active in Demo 1 you can hear Zubin saying "1, 2, 3, 4" while Rob is starting to sing, you can also here Zubin saying "2, 3" while that loud beep is playing and Joe singing slightly at the same time as Rob during the last verse, not just the fact Zubin and Joe are audible but the fact also that Zubin and Joe and Rob weren't in a Studio recording Hawaii Part II (was done on a computer) and haven't been together in person since approximately mid-late 2011, this could also bring up the fact it was maybe originally intended for Good & Evil or that 3rd album that was supposed to release in 2013 (Joe confirmed (?) it in a 2019 interview on YT and has been deleted since).

THE MIND ELECTRIC DEMOS MAKE ME SO HAPPY ;0;
I believe that the Hawaii part ii is a album detailing the story of a man who was cursed with immortality which is a curse bestowed upon him with the added factor of the passing time degrading his mind and the alter ego of himself infecting his mind and causing the death of his lover. The following paragraphs will detail how this interpretation is a suitable story for the album. The first song “Introduction to the snow” shows him reminiscing on his past life as he floats on the precipice of all eternity when everything fades away as he gazes upon the stars and his mind detailing how beautiful and bitter it is. The second song “Isle Unto Thyself” starts us off with an ethereal sounding chant that might have been the goddess he and his lover worshiped or himself reminiscing on the past. Then it cuts to the man detailing how he met the love of his life and like the quote “why would it matter” doubting why and how it all started or maybe him being hesitant of love and how it may hurt him. The song I believe details his love and journey with her and him questioning if the memory was real then the song lyrics details on how when he was on the brink off death “Bled on the ground” he met the god and he was given the immortality he wanted and his alter ego too unbeknownst to them it would be a curse. Next it describes how the universe passed through and how he describes it and how it all died and him questioning his humanity as he ponders life. The song “Black Rainbows” is sung by the woman and is set in what I believe is Hawaii where the 2 lovers met and how they came upon Stella Octangula which basically defines a god(search it up and the theory of its meaning) the song follows how they saw the light that it shown and the possibilities and how beautiful their love and “it” was. (Btw the songs if you listen in order mix like a musical flowing together perfectly ) The next song white ball details a tango both physically and metaphorically kinda where they danced and detail about the future of the stars and eternity and their love together but later on it’s only him who lives forever. This song “Murders'' is a song shows the ego shows how it depicted of the love and how it pessimistically saw it and how he was in the middle and how all it wanted was the fountain of infinite mirrors which basically means immortality and how the ego took control and killed the love of his life and how at the end he gains control and spirals down into his depths of tragedy. The next song is the Japanese song which is translated to space station level 7 which basically details how humans evolved into going into space what it looks like but level 7 is a gate a final gate to heaven which the song constantly chants which leads me to believe that the man lives and is looking for heaven where his lover is and constantly looking for death. The song “Mind Electric” depicts how he was caught for killing his lover and how he is in court pleading to the court of his alter ego which they sentence him to death and how he depicts his degrading mind. And with his sentence he is sentenced to electric chair and how he depicts the electric corses through his brain and how his alter ego is becoming more present in his mind commenting on how the surfs work the ground and he plays with his mind and how it or him prays for it to end the torture and suffering. Next song is Labyrinth which describes how his mind is spinning and how he’s trying to get out and how now he feels like his past lover is following and has already gone to level 7 aka heaven. The rapper is the man and his mind as he acknowledges how he is running from the people trying to kill him and how he is in fear of his alter ego/god may cause the death of more and how he is trapped in this cycle. The song “Time Machine” is showing how he is now in the future waiting for the release of life and how he regrets what the ego has done, possibly conquered the ego or fused together because the other thoughts did not appear in the song. It follows his desire to go back with a Time Machine which he is awaiting to appear so he can go back and prevent all of it. The song “Stranded Lullaby” is detailing on him being stranded out in space and time and I believe he finally conquered his ego but became numb to the idea of basically everything with the only remaining shard of him being his lover and he is “lost at sea” or he has finally came to terms with his alter ego and he questions why it did what it did and why it was so lonely. The final song is “Dream Sweet in Sea Major” the final song based on my interpretation is where he finally conquered the ego and becomes and the god finally brings him the the promised land when he floated through space and finally reached level 7 where he finally is reunited with his lover as he savor the moment and the moment forever where the verses describe them going back into Hawaii and where they relive their love and what is to come as they love within heaven which he reached and the final verse he says good bye to Hawaii which is a representation of the ego torture and what he felt to finally get their as he grows and anew and will spend forever in eternity with his love. This is what I believe the album means in most sense. I believe the conclusion I detailed is what actually finally happened in that marvelous story which was detailed in the album Hawaii part ii.

I adore The Mind Electric demos!! We don't deserve this 🙏
Thank you UA-cam algorithm for getting me here as it released
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS
this album is almost 3x longer than the actual Hawaii: part ii

i think miracle musical was started years before tally hall's second album only because there was a demo of Variations on a Cloud played at some show Joe did, which can be seen during T.H.I.S. (i don't know what episode) when Joe flips a paper on an easel in front of an audience
i recently found that in one of joe's interviews, he said he wanted to do a special project for a long time, so there's solid proof that he had plans deep beneath tally hall to do this
@@hri7566 he may have also just reused older demos because the cojum dip TME came from like 2006 I think?
Wait in what interview did he talk about the "special proyect"?
i think i know the video you're talking about, but i think that performance is made after miracle musical had released already.

I love the harp in the "Dream Sweet" demo!!
Stranded Lullaby's assorted varations are going to be very nice to drift off to sleep to for the foreseeable future.
The white ball strings are AMAZING The bow slurs, the tone, I could go on!
51:22 why does this feel like it came out of my singing monsters
1:07:24 - is that Joe playing the whole 1949 Steinway in Murders? Simply amazing playing. Joe is a genius that has gifted us with this unique album ❤️
Bora plays the piano part of murders
1:32:35 is the best song in the whole album
Edited: Or maybe stranded lullaby demo 1
46:00 minutes of instrumental tunes. Nice
Introduction to the snow and stranded lullaby always soothe me. Very beautiful songs.
The zam 440 message is: that's enough of the prelude.
Now it's time to get serious.

This’ll be helpful, I want to learn the entirety of this album on violin (just the vocals)
PROGRESS??
@@Bordie3D the progress kind of stopped when I started on a different project regarding this album, hopefully it will pick back up though 😁
@@MinaWalker no worries ^^ you still got the experience, still counts
I've only ever listened to the full album of this, never this version (if that makes sense)
But I love hearing all the instrumentals. Theres just so many sounds and instruments I didn't notice where in the songs. It sounds more magical to an extent.

51:22 reminds me vaguely of the start of Ruler of Everything (13)
This is amazing! ii: Electric Boogaloo
Wow, it's breathtaking how beautifully surreal the album in general was, let alone the magical addition of this treasure.
What the zam 440 says for those that can't get it ffs
"Thats enough of the prelude.

im gonna cry 1:12:29 i've always thought that the heaven vocals were so pretty
cojum dip mind electric is S tier music
Cojum dip in general is amazing
Listening to some of these demos really makes me appreciate the normal album
same lol
Anyone got thoughts on the bit about Beethoven's Lost 11th Symphony? Mentioned around 53:10. I'm kinda new to this group, so if this is an in joke, I'm sorta lost lol
I am also beyond lost.
We could say you're lost in Sea ;) but I think about Beethovens, I think Joe got a bit of inspiration in one of the piano tracks but I'm not Really sure.
It's located in mind electric in the actual song, the songs between the mind electric demos and labyrinth are the full songs
Found this on another YT video. "I have finally figured out the complete story/theory about this album.
The story revolves around a young man, believed to be 17, called Simon. His name is never stated but it is mentioned in the demos to the album.
He sails to Hawaii, referring to the album name. His reason for sailing there isn’t clear but, we can assume it's part of his job as a sailor or because he wanted to start a new chapter to his life.
There he meets a woman. Her name is never stated. They both fall madly in love and are happy. Until, Simon’s beloved gets murdered in a forest during a date. The reason for the murder is not known but, we do know that she goes to heaven (obviously but there is a whole song based on it-).
Simon is blamed for the murder and is put on trial. He tries to plead insanity in hopes of being let off easy but, this only makes things worse. He is sent to an asylum to treat his “insanity”. They treat him with electro shock therapy. This truly drives him insane and his memories are all jumbled up.
He is scared and feels like he’s trapped in a labyrinth that he cannot escape. He revisits his memories and wishes he could go back in time to be with his lover.
He is finally let out of the asylum, freeing him of his torture. He seems to have forgotten about the death of his lover and sails off to sea to find her.
Mentally unstable and unprepared, he becomes lost at sea. He misses his lover so dearly, he hopes they can meet again. We finally get to Dream Sweet in Sea Major. He mistakes the voice of a siren for the voice of his lover and crashes his boat and drowns.
He sings about how lovely his lover is going to look and how much time they’ll spend together in one of the sections of the song. In another section, Simon is finally reunited with his lover in heaven and they sing goodbye to the audience. The final section of the song (the instrumental after Bye, Hi. Sigh, Hawaii.) is a bit hard to understand but, I believe that it means that this “happy ending” isn’t as happy after all.
Simon did end up with his lover but, he experienced the death of his true love, torture, insanity, loneliness, and finally, death.
Every major point of this album is also pinpointed to a song. “Introduction to the Snow”, “Isle Unto Thyself”, and “Black Rainbows” set the scene for our story by introducing the characters and location.
Simon falling in love is connected to “White Ball".
“Murders” shows his lover being murdered and “Space Station Level 7” representing his lover going to heaven.
Him being put on trial and being condemned to the infirmary is pinpointed to "The Mind Electric". “Labyrinth” showing his desire to escape and “Time Machine” showing his desire to go back in time.
Finally, “Stranded Lullaby” shows how desperate Simon is to find his lover and how lonely he is and “Dream Sweet in Sea Major” shows Simon’s death and him finally reuniting with his lover."
underrated
@@namenamename473 they didnt write this, and the original is in the comments of the actual album.
