Love seeing Her Majesty with the Veterans, they are of the same generation of course, the only head of state still surviving who actually lived through this conflict and even did war service herself. This is just one reason why POTUS referred to her as a "great, great person". There won't be another occasion like this. God bless the Greatest Generation, we owe them everything.

I agree. I love the Queen. I notice President Trump does the same as she does, looks people in eyes and pays close attention to what they say. Doesn't surprise me, especially here. Trump really appreciates veterans and active military.
Nancy Smith...indeed and do the math, how many heads of government/state has she met since her reign commenced? With respect to the President, my strong view is, and the TDS cranks your views are irrelevant to me, although the Queen may well dislike certain aspects of 45's personality, and let's be honest, even myself who's an ardent 45/MAGA supporter concedes 45 has some awful personality traits.
However with the Queen I strongly do believe she is wise enough, pragmatic enough, and sensible enough, a realist who has lived through so much, the crumbling of basic decency in manners, the assault of the marxist cultural left into every institution of the state, the political correct madness, the media and elites disdain for faith/Christianity, for which she is the head of the Church of England.
All these things added up, my view is she see's in this President core values, Trump's historical speech in Poland where he vehemently, non negotiably pushed back against the above forces in what is essentially a culture war, his defence of Judeo Christian heritage that for centuries has been the bed rock of Europe,immigration of one specific faith lies at the root of a massive shift and change in society. This is not to demonise all of this faith, it is simply stating the bleeding obvious that Britain and Europe have changed through mass immigration, for the very very worst.
The Queen in my view see's this President as the first President to stand up non negotiably to these PC forces of open borders, sovereignty as an indelible right for any nation state.
Hence you can clearly see they have a very good rapport, his first meeting last year went way over time. And a lot of people do not realise Trump's Mother was an ardent Monarchist, as a 6 year old boy she made young Donald sit down just as television was becoming the new fad, and made him watch her coronation.
The Trump family crest is proudly flown at all his golf courses, on his merchandise and even engraved in gold [of course] on his seats on Trump Force One.
So these are just my views, I really think she see's in 45, warts and all, a man who has real affection for the UK and Monarchy, but he also is the ONLY Western head of state/government willing to take on the radicalisation and extreme leftist mantra the body politic in the west, and all of the western media, university's, educational places of learning, 45 is the only leader who refuses, unlike Obama who agreed with all of this crap, and will fight for the core values that have endured for centuries. Personally I believe the Queen deeply agrees with the President as she see's her nation and Europe being rapidly pulled apart and demographically forever changed.
I watched it last night was thinking exactly the same thoughts, The Queen IS a personable lady and makes direct eye contact and HOLDS it, there is a great genuineness to that simple yet very effective act

It’s amazing that the Queen is the only person there who can relate with the Veterans, as she quite rightly said in her speech they are of her generation. She looked extremely relaxed talking to them and I’m sure if time allowed she would have spent more time with them. The only Head of State who can remember D-Day and she doesn’t look her age - remarkable.

It's wonderful to see WW11 veterans our heroe's, and representatives of the heroes lost to WW11 and the heroes that have passed in death. Each are our hero of the greatest generation! The soldiers returned have suffered silently for the liberty's and freedom's we have had and seem eager to give up to socialist/communist/islamic idealogies. Unless, the lovers of liberty and freedom step up to the opposition and say no more. WW11 cannot be fought in vain.
