They just own the stage when they're up there - so much shimmering brilliance. It knocks me off my feet that they're that good.

I love it at 1:28 how Petrucci brings his arms down from his guitar, and very subtly, his expression reads; 'Yes, I know, I rule.' Except of course I know for a fact he's extremely modest. My no. 1 guitarist!

Definitely purchase the DVD because downloading it is not only disgracing DT (DT actually deserves their profits.) But the DVD quality is so immense.
I'd get Score and then Budokan.

Ladies and gentleman! Mr. JOOORDAN RUDESS!!!
I really love Petrucci's guitar playing and stuff. But this..
This is just.. one of the fkin best thing I've ever heard in my life. AMAZING .. Really I haven't got words for this.
I like Jordan's section better, but you have to listen them as one.

Every show they play has a different set list, so they have a custom light program that follows the beat to play with them, and they can't suck, when you play with someone for 20+ years, you have a feel for them as musicians and can improve to extreme levels like this.

Yeah man. They're all fantastic works. Dream Theater has never done anything that I don't like. Budokan used to be my favorite. Score gradually worked its way to the top the more I heard that version of Six Degrees, Octavarium, and Metropolis pt. 1

Jacob Armen immediately comes to mind.
I was just thinking about as Dream Theater being an "All-Star" band.
...'dunno...the more I think about it the more I totally hate myself for even thinking about Portnoy being replaced.

The Mirage kit MAY be a bit smaller, but i think Portnoy is about quality of sound and ease of setup/teardown for this new kit. Easy maintenance and all new transparent clear plastic drums perhaps make it easier to see Mike onstage, but no you still can't see him very well. Just a head, shades, and the occasional stick queues.

    take easy boy please
the show in budokai is like a best show that dt had to do, cause the best bands made one there
and with it, do you think they will do a improvisation?
it is amazing the best thing i have seen in my life
    but it isn't a improvisation

Live Scenes from New York does have A Change of Seasons in the bonus features. The audio quality isn't the best though. Budokan and Score had the most money spent on film and audio quality. Even Chaos in Motion is a little raw at times. My favorite has to be Score simply because of the Octavarium Orchestra.

whether they do improvs or not is not a personal opinion. If you are a right or if you are wrong it's still a fact.

It's easy to say "OH , this famous guitarist is god !! "; " Oh, this musician is simply god " It's easy to heard someone saying that ... Who is god ? Petrucci? Buckethead? Jordan Rudess ? Pastorius? Terry Bozzio? Nobody is god. But everyone is the best in his categorie.
If Petrucci is god, i'm a little god and it's easy to be god.

no. if they do improvisations then, it is a FACT that they do them

If they DO do improvisations and you THINK that they don't, that is not an opinion that is misinformation.

Dream Theater is the main reason that I chose to pursue music, but I think that Mike Portnoy is way out of his league with these guys. I will say that strange time signatures come very easily to him, but other than that, there's just not enough talent to him.
And yes I can say that because I play drums.
I don't hate the guy. He just dosen't fit in a band like Dream Theater.
