I'm glad that we can still do that. Death Battle is as undying as the rivalry that these two have and that quote is just as important to Death Battle as it is to versus debating.

Yeah. Death Battle is (and SHOULD be) more about having fun with franchises rather than trying to act like which one is superior than the other. Nowadays, Death Battle does plenty more things like comedy from Wiz and Boomstick, analyzing characters and the lore to their series, the awesome animation of fight scenes, the character interactions in the fights, and best of all the awesome battle soundtracks by Brandon Yates and Therewolf Media.

Yeah, it's sad (and a little pathetic) to see certain trolls spamming misinformation and pointless comments as if their character losing was done by DEATH BATTLE! on purpose JUST to spite the fandom and/or seem to believe that their character losing is DEATH BATTLE!'s way of saying they suck and that their fans must hate them and love the winner instead.

I remember when so many fanboys said that 'Death Battle hated anime' because several anime characters like Goku, Buu, and Gaara have lost their fights. These types of people will see Dragonball characters win multiple fights in a row but when one DB character loses they are screaming that 'Death Battle must hate Dragonball'. Their the ones who come to these videos and says 'I can't believe how Death Battle disrespected Goku so much in these videos!' When they do nothing but praise Goku and compliment Goku, yet not having him win a fight means they must hate them with all of their hearts.
I don't care who you're a fan of, but Supes and Goku would 100% be friends and train together if they were in the same universe.

I could see him sparing though if he had someone that could take it. Manly just to let go and see were he at. It be more about just being able to let go of his restrictions then training. This would let him get stronger as a result. It would be good for both of them tbh

And sadly, people tends to forget about that.
We all love Son Goku for that. And his preference for a fair and to-the limits fights is reason why we and him getting the most excellent and epic saiyan style brawl. That's why he is my favorite anime character of all time and such an inspiration to us all. He's gotten way smarter since his childhood days and may be not book smart but he's an absolute genius when it comes to fighting and yes I'm I'm taking the most formidable fighters of Marvel and DC into account and Mythologies(Like Hercules and Son Wukong).
PS: He's in terms of strength and fighting capability what Rick is in intelligence.

If Death Battle ends then I'm glad they made this episode. Slamming action figures together has always been what this is about, and they finally said it for the fans who looked past all the salt and cope. Might have been just a show to them but this was great nostalgia for me. I'm grateful to them for it

Love the "Finally" right before the final clash. Goku knew he was holding back the entire time, and probably knew the result that would occur. However, getting his opponent to recognize and acknowledge his own prowess was a victory in itself. So, in turn, he went all out as well. Beautiful fight.

Me, i wanted more superman comments on gokus new form, and them to show him tryhng different things like hakai, mafuba and gd bind, or even using the goku susano or his new ultra instinct omen power up form.
@@chandlerbing7717 Superman not commenting on ultra instinct maybe could be explained by Superman having already seen it in a previous match since the two are implied to have fought a lot now.
Mafuba is way too slow to ever hit Superman. They say this in the video.
Goku has never successfully used hakai so as of right now he wouldn’t have been able to use it in this fight, but it would have had no effect in Superman anyway as explained in the video

Goku actually did use his ‘susano’ form at the very end. It came out and punched Superman in the middle of the final kamehameha.

It's been 15 years since the original db,this battle has been done to death, everyone expected superman to win, and death battle is starting to make each battle as heartwarming as possible (ie: darth vader vs obito, guts vs dimitri, courage vs scooby doo, martian manhunnter vs silver surfer)

@@inigo-montoya Honestly, I'm kind of happy with that. Despite being the whole concept to begin with, it gets tiring seeing characters you like get brutally killed. Or even seeing them brutally kill their enemy when they win. Especially when it's so out of character.

Atleast there was a decent amount of time between this rematch and the last one. The original rematch barely had any new material to work with beside giving Goku universal feats
I mean regardless of the outcome the fight makes no sense it’s basically an immovable object vs an unstoppable force a character who has unlimited power vs one who has unlimited potential and growth! They would be best buddies in normal circumstances considering they have a lot in common but that’s irrelevant in this battle tbh.
@@soulcyclone360 Well, Goku's universal feats were only in the Dragon Ball Super anime, which came out after GvSM 2. So really there was no new material to work with at all lol (not to mention the fact that GvSM 2 just used the cut contents of the original script and didn't do any new research, so it was actually just an epilogue rather than an actual rematch)

This ending screams that this battle was a friendly sparring between good friends and I really loved it, that's how I always imagined it would be if Clark and Kakarot actually meet.
For Goku, it was an opportunity to face a strong opponent and have fun fighting to his very limit. For Superman, it was an opportunity to go all out against a good guy that is strong enough to face him and just enjoy himself without the responsability of protecting something or someone that always hold him back.
At this point, I really don't mind too if they decide to do a fourth fight between these two in the future, I even wish more Death Battles could be like this.

Superman used to really enjoy fighting, as well as his super smarts, but people seem to ignore him being a martial artist. He's not as skilled as Wonder Woman, but that doesn't mean he's not skilled at all.

@@quintinwood4397 In the analysis they have done, they have failed in key points that have given Superman the advantage. The first flaw is that Superman destroys the World Forger's anvil and that causes the destruction of the multiverse, not the punch directly. And also Superman infinite frontier who only recovers the memories and experiences of his past lives, but not the feats or powers of the old versions of him. Death Battle seems to like Superman fan arguments. Both characters can win the fight, but they prefer Superman. It would have been epic if Goku managed to win or even draw.
Superman has certain advantages, but Goku, after losing many fights, manages to win after a hard battle. We all know this would be the case.
Akira has been able to create the most inspiring character that has ever existed. 💪🏻👊🏻 Today we enjoy epic battles thanks to him. R.I.P Akira Toriyama. 🕊

Stuff like this is my only knowledge of Dragon Ball Z lol. I love Naruto but can't really see the point of Dragon Ball Z when all the attacks seem the same from what I've seen, mostly just firing lasers or energy balls, but I do still like these death battles!😂

There's no issue with preferring Death Battles and having a preference for Naruto, But everyone has their own taste in anime and shows. However, it's pretty stupid to form an opinion about an entire show based solely on a Death Battle. This death battle pretty much goes through Goku's strength primarily and might not give you the full picture of the series. Try giving a show a try before judging it and saying "I love Naruto but can't really see the point of Dragon Ball Z".

I love how by their third death battle, they seem to have become really good friends and it appears to just be a friendly competitive thing.
I mean, the first two was hilariously OoC for both of them. This is how it would go canonically if they met.
Probably how a canonical crossover would work out between the two of them, they'd be great hype-men for eachother.

It took three Death Battles, but Goku finally drew Superman out for what’s essentially an intense spar. This is my headcanon for them really- Superman gives Goku a goal to aspire to, an opponent that pushes him to be better. While Goku gives Supes a chance to embrace his power with someone who not only can take his hits, but relishes the chance to challenge him.
This was well done and wholesome. One of the best Death Battles so far.
This comment gets it, it's more than just who can out pace the other. Superman has explicitly stated about how the entire world feels like cardboard, and how he needs to exercise extreme control as to not break something or some one. One of the few people he can actually let loose with is an evil god from a separate planet who seeks an equation that puts everyone under his control with despair.
Goku would be one of the few good people who would consistently challenge superman, and one where Superman can throw down and actually get close to his limit. He can let go of a lot of the control he exercises and stretch his wings.
Their actual interaction would be pretty wholesome, with Goku possibly being the clingy partner constantly asking for a sparring sesh with superman.

Even Wonder Woman would rather not see violence if possible. I actually love the idea of Superman finally being relieved to have a sparring partner that can keep up with him in power. That ending was super wholesome and very in character for both of them
Makes sense. Superman rarely ever gets a chance to actually blow off steam outside of stressful, life-or-death battles or the occassional uninhabited moon for him to take out his anger on (see when Lex Luthor became President). That must be exhausting. So having a friendly spar against someone who can keep up with him, with absolutely NO consequences attached (because Super Dragon Balls) would probably be a huge breath of fresh air.

Exactly, even though Superman is unmatchable, he still cares about the experience. It's a no-brainer that Superman would win because he's just, well Superman, but it was a great decision to have him respect Goku as an equal and vice versa (even though Superman cannot be hurt in this case). As you said it was a spar, not a fight and it worked perfectly. It felt like 2 friends just being bros, I love the direction Death Battle went with for this version, very fresh idea.

19:45 That whole sequence of Goku charging up the kamehameha was such a beautiful moment, with the light enveloping Goku's face, and his head and facial movement. Animation team did astounding, wow!

This somehow topped the incredible endings of Scooby Vs. Courage and Rick Vs. Doctor, this season has legit been one of the best ever, possibly my favorite.
I honestly loved how they handled Goku & Superman after Goku died in the fight. It felt genuinely true to their own selves

To all those still arguing why Goku wins I have a question, why do you care? Why do any of you care if he loses to Superman? It’s not like Goku losing makes him any less of an awesome character. He’s still super powerful and could still kick a lot of fictional characters ass, so what does it matter if he loses to one who is stupidly, absurdly overpowered.
I know Goku loses to Superman and I still love him. I like Superman too, but I’m a bigger fan of Dragon Ball than I am DC. Part of being a fan is recognising the faults in the things you love, and that includes recognising that their are some fights characters can’t win. If you still think Goku wins, fine do you, you’re entitled to your opinion, but to ignore and downplay evidence to the contrary and not accept others opinions that Superman wins is not ok.
You don’t have to write an essay crying about people thinking that Goku wins. If you think Superman wins its OK. Personally, I prefer looking at their feats and CC Goku demolishes if I’m being unbiased and not wanking things like Superman fans often do.
@@FirstNameLastName-mn9sz but that’s what confuses me, CC Goku doesn’t actually have that many feats. If you think about it, not many Dragon Ball characters have many impressive feats at all. Lots of statements saying how powerful they are but not many physical feats that really showcase what they’re capable of. It’s Superman with all the impressive feats, Goku only gets as high as he does through statements or power scaling bullshittery.

For example if Freeza can destroy a planet, and Goku is stronger than Freeza, Goku can also destroy a planet, Goku canonically mocked Freeza about him being able to destroy planets but not Goku. Villains in DBHeros literally wiped out entire timelines with raw power. Goku is significantly stronger than said villains. That means Goku can do the same.

My favorite part of that whole "cardboard" speech is that Darkseid immediately kicks his ass afterward. It takes Lex showing up with the Anti-Life Equation to get Darkseid to stop.
